The Qeshyks got spooky in this update, just getting behind the enemy and causing devastation before even our own generals knew what was up.Speaking of cavalry, while the Ochruhr were being pushed back as quickly as possible, the Qeshyks had managed to get in behind the front of the SKF and were merrily blowing things up, while the foot and cannon regiments were taking advantage of the logistical chaos to isolate and annihilate SKF regiments. The generals were practically having to run to keep up with the colonels, although the overall objectives definitely needed to be clarified with this new success lest the armies lose all focus and go running off in every direction.
Would it cost higher PW for us to opt out from taking the lands?Ripping out the heart doesn't mean you necessarily need to annex any Tortun or Halvyni land, although taking the Halvyni homeland would open up some extra options for the annexation of territory. Smashing them yourself without having another power to take the territory after is however likely to lead to headaches again in a generation.
...whaaat. I'm pretty sure they don't have this.
No, we can't integrate the Tortuns into our nation. Not only are they intensely nationalistic already, they're populous enough that they'll be impenetrable for our assimilationist policies. Eating the Tortuns is a fast way to get nationalist revolts up the wazoo. If we would annex parts of Tortun, not only they would be crippled permanently; we would also annex their FACTORIES, RAILROADS AND TECH.
And no. Integration of Wyrmyn is far from difficult. Disadvantage exist only for people that would like to be at happiness 1 in our core cities. Integration of Wyrmyn basically force us to be nicer to our own population.

I wouldn't be surprised if PW costs for opting out taking land is nasty high, after such a dizzying victory.Thread sentiment is such that taking the land is probably unlikely.

I'm pretty sure it ends up with disemboweling for WW2 germans anyway, occupation is just a interim. This choice for the sea legit has options for us to take land to make ours, rather than situational needOccupations work just fine when the occupier has the political will and military might to follow through. OTL European powers fought each other dozens of times. They looted plenty, and their enemies often came back stronger afterward with a desire for revenge. Germany wasn't occupied in WW1 and it wasn't until people finally got tired of world wars and occupied Germany that wars between great powers stopped. Disemboweling is just a lazy kicking of the can down the road. Leaders in real life do it because they know they won't have to deal with the aftermath since they'll be dead or out of office by then. I'd like to think that the thread is a little more farsighted than that due to the faster pace of a story.
