@Azel Off with of. Tethered with teetered. Anymore with any longer.

Honestly this is one case where I feel my simpler, more direct speech was superior, but if @Goldfish likes it more I won't oppose.
You kinda assume that everyone will know who we are and why we are here, which isn't true. We probably got a bunch of rumors, especially from talky Legionnaires, but we still need introductions.

This isn't just about the criminals, but also our first public statement about the events last night.

Okay. This is great.

Fullplate Valyrian Steel, with nice enchantments, and it's not an artifact. :D

I don't even give a crap that nobody is currently suited to wearing it, we just got another suit of Valyrian Steel.

Technically any of the clerics can cast just fine in it, though they lack the training to move in it.

On another note it is currently past midnight, so the next update will be in the morning, hopefully the discussion on trees and cultists will last you guys until then

@Goldfish Grammar.

-[X] Prior to the speech, Dany casts Clarion Call on Viserys, and he uses Air of Nobility, Voice of the Dragon, Divine Insight, Grand Destiny (via Greater Shadow Enchantment), and Blood Wishes a Surge of Fortune spell, all to increase his Diplomacy when speaking to the assembled crowd.
-[X] "Citizens of Tyrosh. Many of you might wonder about the meaning of this gathering and indeed, who I am to lead it. I am Viserys Targaryen, Dragon King and now Archon of Tyrosh."
-[X] "When I learned of the cancer that was growing beneath this city, I could not turn my eyes away from your plight. I could not idly stand by as those in power willfully ignored it and this city teetered closer and closer to a most horrible fate. So I marshaled my Legion to march upon these walls, not to rape and pillage, but to cut out the rot before it was too late."
-[X] "I'm saddened by the losses this fighting incurred, yet there was no other choice any longer. Had the ruinous powers of Abaddon been left to their own devices, there would be no words to the carnage and horrors they would have visited upon every man, woman and child within these walls and beyond."
-[X] "But this is not why we have gathered here. The dead shall be remembered in quiet contemplation, not as a spectacle for the masses. What brings us here are the cruelty and depravity visited upon this city not by the hand of Daemons, but by men. Men who used this time of chaos and death to enrich themselves at the expense of others. Men who fanned the fires and swelled the rivers of blood out of nothing more than greed."
-[X] "Though they will not be allowed to get away with these deeds. With my coming, rule of law has come to Tyrosh as well, and no man shall be below notice of the law. No man shall be too unimportant to seek its protection. No man is above the law, neither money, nor station, nor the color of your cloak will save you from justice being done."
-[X] "The law I speak of will be a written one, that applies to all equally. There shall be no more exceptions or rights due to happenstance or tradition. These old habits that seem to be the hallmarks of corruption or sheer incompetence will not blacken these streets with their maudlin absurdity."
-[X] "I do not speak of the 'law' that a conqueror may use to dispose of his enemies and shield his allies, but about true justice. Know that law will henceforth be used to protect you, and not just be something wielded by men and women of noble birth to oppress the masses and protect only their own interests. And justice will be done today, so that all of you can sleep well tonight, knowing that the knaves and murderers that wish to prey upon you will not."

@Duesal, that armor can go to Ser Gerold. If we can push him into getting PC levels that is. Commander of the1st Legion has a badass armor. What's his last name again?

Otherwise, I'm thinking Bronn, if to secure his loyalty more.

I would think what would offend them would be destroying them, I doubt they are watching the statues closely enough, to notice they become part of a dragons hoard.
Using regular gold is perfectly fine. We're following Azel's plans in regards to dealing with the god statues, we don't need to randomly trade those to Amrelath.
And it's less effective than Dominate-ing them and having them dictate their lore for as long as they can before they're to get sacrificed.
It's just a lack of interest on my part. I want relevant information. I want current events, I want to know where conspirators are, I want to know where the treasures are hidden, etc. For lore we can just keep the skull. Whenever we have questions, we can use Speak with Dead. I don't want to send several updates on this interrogation, I just want to grow the new Heart Tree.

Hmmm...

Well, Dany has nice Mithral Fullplate. We specifically wanted Mithral due to its lighter weight, and I don't think Valyrian Steel is any lighter than regular steel. Malarys has his nice Spell-Reflecting Breastplate. And Rina has Blue Ice Fullplate.

I guess we just keep it in reserve for now.

Bronn, if I'm not mistaken, needs a breastplate.

As for Ser Gerold, eh. I guess.

@Duesal We could make the armor part of the 1st Legion General's post. Kind of a perk of the job, and also relevant since keeping the top-ranking officer alive is kind of important.

Otherwise, yeah, I'm sure we'll find a PC who uses heavy armor who could use a +2 Valyrian Steel full plate. That shit is badass. In canon Euron could only find some scale-armor, and here we've gone and found two sets of plate.

High Magic Empire don't fuck around.

I was mostly wanting to make a new book for our library :(
I mean, heck, I specifically mentioned leaving him and a dragonpen while Viserys goes off to do relevant stuff!

I'm strongly against using any kind of pilfered armor for the Legion. The general of a Legion should wear an armor in the Legion style and with Legion colors, not something we found.

This is his uniform after all.

I like this idea a lot more. Make it a permanent fixture of the First Legion, forever tied to the general's position.

I don't like that idea at all. We should store it for now, because eventually someone will come along who we want to wear, probably a PC or close ally. Having to take it back from one of our generals would be...unfortunate.

And there's always Vaelana, sometime down the line.

Damn it, the uniform. Never mind, then.

Idea dropped, don't worry.

@Goldfish, when is Valaena going to be ready to wear Fullplate?

@Azel I edited your speech somewhat in my plan. It basically says the same thing, but I did some slight rewording and removed most of a redundant passage.

Thoughts?

-[X] "Citizens of Tyrosh. Many of you might wonder the reason for this gathering and indeed, who I am to lead it. I am Viserys Targaryen, Dragon, King, and now Archon of Tyrosh."

-[X] "I'm saddened by the losses this fighting incurred, yet there was no other acceptable choice. Had the ruinous powers of Abaddon been left to their own devices, there would be no words to express the carnage and horrors they would have inflicted upon every man, woman and child within these walls and beyond. Free citizen or unfortunate slave, it would have mattered not."
-[X] "I share this news with you because you deserve to know the truth of what the former Archons and Magisters allowed to fester within your city. The dead shall be remembered in quiet contemplation, not as a spectacle for the masses. Instead we must address the cruelty and depravity visited upon this city not by the hand of Daemons, but by men. Men who used this time of chaos and death to enrich themselves at the expense of others. Men who fanned the fires and swelled the rivers of blood out of nothing more than greed."

But that seems a bit sub-optimal as well. I hate to see perfectly useful objects in storage until we find the perfect user for them. Perhaps rotate it about on a regular basis? Perhaps with a few other objects we have in storage? We can even say its experimental, ask for volunteers before and reports on its performance afterwards. That way no on will expect to keep it and it will still be being useful.

@Goldfish, looks good.

Noticed an error:
These old habits that seem to be the hallmarks of corruption or sheer incompetence will not blacken these streets with their maudlin absurdity.

That should be "will no longer blacken".

[X] Goldfish

We will make a speech-crafter out of you after all. :p

@Goldfish, is there really no way I can convince you to reconsider having this championier of shit dictating the lore he knows to a dragonpen, while Viserys is off to do more relevant stuff?
I mean, It's just wasteful in my opinion to not even try to have every last bit of info drained from him while we don't risk anything by doing that.

What we do, or don't do with this knowledge after that is entirely different matter altogether.
We have evil and distasteful knowledge aplenty in store, yet which we fully are going to research the shit from at some point.

Same as my response to Azel's draft. I think we need to expand upon what we mean with "cancer growing beneath the city" and make it clear that there was a freaking daemon cult operating in their city. The inner quarter seems to have been spared any daemonic activity if the lack of rumors is anything to go by, so we better establish right away that there was a serious incursion going on. Maybe reveal things we learned like the butcher transforming children into cows.

I think you need to expand more between the first and second point. "Cancer that was growing beneath this city" might not ring any bells to a lot of people - it's likely that the inner city was spared any rumors or demonic activity - and it might be a bit too metaphoric for the slum-dwellers to get it right away since it's so sudden. Better to add some more clear exposition about the demonic.

"For months, the demonic servants of Abaddon, Lord of Locus and Death, have lurked among this very city. Spreading their masters taint and corruption far and wide, promising fools power eternal in exchange for servitude and stalking the alleys for innocent souls to prey upon. If you have heard rumors of strange disappearances and monsters lurking in the night, now you know the ones responsible"

That could keep the Cleric alive for a long time, much longer than we want. The interrogation is already going to push his execution back at least a day, according to DP.

We can always query his skull at a later date.

It can't go to the Legion because the Legion has uniforms. We can do a Lich study action and figure out how he made Valyrian Steel, then make a set of Fullplate in the for the general of the First Legion, but we can't just give them a random set of armor that doesn't fit at all with the dress code.

It's not that bad if it sits in storage. Everyone's already equipped properly.
