Tor was maneuvering to seize control of the underworld of Pentos, and we just ganked him. That'll delay things there. Things are looking good throughout all our prospective Essosi conquests, except Myr. It's so gosh darn normal over there something has to be keeping a lid on things.

This entire turn has just been the best. We tied up so many loose ends, got a bunch of cash and neat magic items, and now we're poised to start conquering.

@DragonParadox, I've really been enjoying these recent updates, moreso than usual. :D

I wonder how many Free Cities have to become Imperial Cities before the panic really sets in among the power players over in Westeros?

Two is pretty much it. After Tyrosh, we'll have a lot more trouble moving about, and people will stop treating us as a particularly powerful pirate who happens to sometimes do jaw dropping things, and start treating us as a real threat. We're going to take pains to appear like we're using Tyrosh as our jumping off point into Westeros, but with the second city they'll realize that we're not stopping just at Tyrosh, and everyone will really freak out, which is why we want Lys, Myr, and Pentos to fall in as short a time frame (relative to each other) as we can manage.

Aren't they panicked now? Viserys is a dragonlord in every sense of the world, he's taken every last one of the Stepstones as his, and he smashed the Royal Fleet.
They can still brush us off as personally powerful but only controlling some irrelevant rocks in the Narrow Sea, once we start taking Free Cities we'll fit into their existing worldview of what you need to be truly powerful.

After Tyrosh: "Shit, the Dragonspawn got himself a real city this time."

After Lys: "Another one? Why didn't the bastard stay in Braavos? Oh, yeah, my bad." :o

After Pentos: "Gods damn it, Varys, I thought you were handling the problem? Wait, why are you packing your bags?"

After Myr: "Has anyone seen the king lately?"

So wouldnt it kindof be fitting to raise dead Tors skull. We shall name it Bob, and it will tell us everything.

Lya has already bound air spirits.

I suppose she could modify the Arcanum process for Viserys. Blood calling to blood from Tor's imbibing back in Braavos.

There'd certainly be advantages to having a ruthlessly practical bound research spirit.

So, @DragonParadox, you say that summoning/calling Celestials has a fair odd of giving infernals instead.... but that only applies to Planetos, right? So if we do the summoning/calling in a different plane, we should sidestep that problem, no?

Calling it now: we'll modify the Shadow Tower to jump planes ala Baldur's Gate 2 Planar Sphere and call whatever we want from wherever we want by planeshifting the whole thing to the plane of Air or wherever.

Isn't the Shadow Tower in its own demi-plane? How would that affect summoning celestials? Or would the fact that we're on the Prime Material overide that?

We should probably put some effort into it ourselves, not to assist in the takeover but as a seperate influence on the city.

Then when we do conquer we own the government and the underworld, likely a more complete control than the city has seen in years.

[X] Deal with the spy first

Also, prime example on why the Greater Ribbons of Disguise are a necessity for all party members. They allowed us to successfully ambush Tor, one of the most paranoid and well-prepared enemies to date. If we hadn't had it we'd have been spotted from a mile away and Tor would have fled.

Every party member needs their own.

I thought we were wearing a normal one?

Rather, the "magical things seeing through disguise self at a glance" thing that is bullshit.

Automatically disbelieving illusions is a very prized ability.

Okay, we currently have 3 Greater Ribbons of Disguise. People that need them in descending order of priority:

Viserys Targaryen
Daenerys Targaryen
Ser Richard Lonmouth
Lya
Waymar Royce
Garin Drekelis
Vee
Tyene Sand
Maelor
Xor
Malarys Vanor
Glyra
Aradia
Mercy
Valeria
Kira
Naria

Rhaella Targaryen
Bronn
Valaena Velaryon
Argo the Minotaur
Theon Greyjoy
Asha Greyjoy
Moonsong
Hermetia of Sorcerer's Deep
Teana Strycos
Kyla Fairwind
Jorel Fairwind
Reva Bealus
Liset Bealus
Leila Goldhammer
Shara Rogare
Joran of Dragonstone
Mya Stone

Yellow denotes the main party and those who work close enough with them that they might as well be considered part of the main party. Everyone else is either a baby adventurer, subordinate PC, or important NPC who needs to stay in hiding.

For now let's stick with party members for the sake of brevity. We have fourteen people in that category. We have three Greater Ribbons of Disguise already crafted, so we only need eleven more made. That is a base cost of 8,800 IM at 800 IM per ribbon, but with Lya's Extraordinary Artisan the cost is knocked down to 6,600 IM total which would take 16.5 total days of crafting since her Dedicated Wrights can craft 400 IM per day.

Spreading this out over the course of a few months is the current plan -- and honestly our best bet, these need to be crafted. Tentatively hoping to have each party member boast their own Greater Ribbons within the next four months.

I'm basing my assumption from this:
Behind your flesh-mask you have all the time one could ask for even here upon the busy streets of Pentos...
Sounds a lot like the Greater Ribbon.

Anyway, something that I would say has a very high priority for craftin next turn: Unlimited Robes of Mysterious Conjuration for Viserys.

It costs 1700 IM base price, but we want to add the effect to the Illithid's DR 10/Silver robes. So the total price could go up by as much as 850 IM due the tax on combining magical items.

The DR/Silver is good even after Ascension, as our inherent DR then will be /VS, so we will always have a decent DR.

Why the robes are important? SM VII is both tremendously good for combat, having access to being like Bone Devils, but it also allows us to summon a Movanic Deva, which as Raise Dead as an SLA.

I would be happy with the normal 3/day effect for 1000 IM, which we can later upgrade to unlimited use. The cost isn't a huge deal now, but that's a lot of time to put into one item right now.
