Cadejo and Hookwolf totally agree. They can attest, Vista is the most tasty powerful as she is and need no magic.

I ask players to consider adding Vista scanning in their votes.
If she doesn't have a Linker Core, well, we lost nothing.
If she has a Linker Core, we can introduce her to other heroic cape-mage, Standstill, maybe even teach them together.
Simple shooting spell, Wide Area Search, Strong Shield - and noone ever sneak up on her again.

And Guardian Beast, of course.
"I found a stray dog yesterday. She's so cute and nice and friendly!" Missy was flailing her arms excitedly. "What a monster one should be to kick her out?! So, I thought, maybe we can take her in? Please? I promise, I take a good care of her!"
Hannah smiled. It was good to see the girl so thrilled because of something not cape-related.
"Yes, we can take her in." she nodded. "But first we should take her to the vet and check-"
"SHE SAID YES!" Missy shouted, turning to the door.
"YAAAAAY!!!" a girl's voice answered.
The door opened and a girl darted in and immediately hugged Hannah.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" she babbled happily, bouncing of excitement and eagerly waving her tail. Yes, she had a tail and also a pair of dog ears on her head.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" Missy joined the hug.
Hannah sighed and patted both girls.

If I'd known there was a spell Vista could use without impacting her power, I'd have put that in first thing. But, it's too late to avoid a votesplit.

Speaking of Unison devices and their apparent tendency to bond with mages THEY choose we could bond that with Plan Pokemon and start a worldwide harem anime. Just start releasing unison devices at random and set them to find a mage and 'encourage' them to have their very first spell be creating the mages maximum of guardian beasts. I know SW said devices can't be one size fits all, but there were a suggested 2 or 3 million s ranks out there just because of earths population. Even randomly generated devices have a good chance of finding partners if for some bizarre reason anyone takes me seriously.

Nope, I'm talking about the recent Onmyoji game. Which takes Shikigami creation, and turns it into Youkai Pokemon, non-Youkai-Watch edition. More of a Gacha style game though instead of proper Pokemon.

I for one would be perfectly fine with Unison Dragon's first real outing as a Device/Mage pair being a day long Nuzlocke run with Vista.

So many fuzzies. So many.

(Or whoever. I'm betting odds of Vista having a core are closer to a coin flip than the general population d20, but facilitating the creation of Guardian Beasts for heroes with cores who aren't going to template or device seems like it'd be a fairly decent use of Dragon's time.)

EDIT: Standstill is already a valid target for temporary unison devicing for the purpose of binding a Guardian Beast to. Maclibuin might be as well. The rest are probably too unheroic for Dragon to want to help right now, regardless of our desires.

So, not that I disagree on getting closer to Kayleigh and Laura, but don't you guys thing it's a little awkward to try and force people who know nothing of each other to be on a sleepover together?

Why do you think I was willing to give up on it as easily as I did? Of course it's awkward. It's just most awkward for Taylor and Vista. Taylor because she'd be setting it up and hasn't really had positive multiple friends interactions since... Did Emma have friends Taylor also hung out with? Because probably then. Vista just does not really social outside work, but would probably at least see the offer as it is- Taylor wanting to mesh her social circles for more options and fun, sharing people she likes with each other. Kayleigh is enough of a social animal it wouldn't bother her, and if Laura came, her best friend would also be there to blunt any 'new person' trauma.

But, I would not be too surprised if Vista politely declined meeting new people, at which point the press would move on to a private social meetup. Nothing to really lose by asking.

Please reexamine the wording of my vote block for that, which most others including them seem to be copying. It doesn't specify a sleepover the way the Vista-only vote does, AND I'd brought up a few times now both the sort of activities they could do together as "hey friend 1 i want you to meet friend 2" (arcade, mall, etc) and how to cover knowing Missy without it somehow being an immediate mask-slip.

It says specifically to figure out with Vista what exactly it would be...and I'd hope thats open enough that SW wouldn't just force "you ask everyone to slumber party, it fails, update over" rather than having the actual characers figure out socialing themselves. We don't micromanage our conversations in this Quest after all.

You just said so yourself: we don't have immediate control of what Taylor does in an update. This seems like rushing way too many things together while it'd be better to just take this things step by step.

As in, this week Taylor hangs out with Missy, the next she spends time with Kayleigh and/or Laura. Having all these variable put together sounds like an invitation (and deservedly so) for the QM to drop a failure on us.

If the Vista social wins (which bar a massive upset it looks like it will), I'll be rolling a die to determine how interested Vista is in meeting new non-cape people. Low rolls will see Vista politely turn down the group offer, so it'll just be the two of you. Moderate rolls would be casual group hangout. High rolls will net you a group slumberparty.

This would work better for getting the group slumber party to win. BUT, if the roll described above fails to get the slumber party, you can always try again after getting them together more casually.

The traitor knows of our secret identity, her friend too and now you want Missy to be seen with us in a public space with the snitch and her reasonable friend at the side, able to put two and two together?
