Magical Girl Escalation Taylor (Worm/Nanoha)

It's fine, I figured out a better time anyway.
Is this plan valid?
That'd work, yes.
We are never going to be able to do anything about the Privateers because we've spent the entire quest IGNORING THEM! We'll just have to convince Tim to keep the murderous idiots from using the power armor, and then go back to pretending they don't exist like we've done for the whole quest.
They've spent the entire quest ignoring us. We, however, gave them a personal Tinker to provide them with milspec weaponry they now plan to rely on, and offered the option of cape-dom to literally all of them if possible, besides a mission or two where we did actually assist them against gangs.
It's some of both, actually. On the one hand, if you look back at 6.3, the Privateers were happy with Taylor doing her own thing because it kept her relatively out of danger. On the other, Taylor is the only character you have direct control of, and that conversation happened after two months of not interacting with them.
Looking back on that fight, for future reference and clearing up a confusion, would we have been able to use an "almost entirely Kinetic Force, minimal Heat" flare shooter against the Human Torch expy or other fire-immune types? Or does the 1% heat we can't get rid of protect them from all of it (whereas 1% force is still triggering Mysterio power but to negligible effect)
For most fire-types, yes, a primarily kinetic Flare Shooter would work. With evil-Human Torch, it was his Breaker state and yes-no-maybe tangibility that was the bigger hurdle.
Malciburn: Extinction Knight; Armed Device. His power is increased toughness and strength and he's got the whole warrior motif already, so this would fit perfectly, replacing what he already has and giving him a series of boosts along the theme he's already working. Even with that low level core, he's still going to raise a few levels in power.
Just to let you know, Maclibuin will refuse the Extinction Knight template. Go back to 9.2, and you'll see the hints I dropped about what kind of powerset he actually wants.
Can we take both shipwright and dragon to the dragonslayers lair, we should introduce those two they can do great things together especially once shipwright can reverse engineer tinker tech with access to dragons resources.
Taking both Tim and Dragon has been the general idea since it was first suggested, yeah. And Tim and Dragon have already been introduced. They met at the end of Arc 6, and there was a canonized omake in Arc 8, threadmarked as 8.t, where Tim and Dragon had an entire conversation all on their own without Taylor taking part at all.

Correct me if I wrong, 'withstand' means 'to stand up against : oppose with firm determination; especially : to resist successfully'.
Therefore, 'you withstood interrogation' means 'you were browbeat/threaten, but didn't say anything', not 'she asked and you told her everything'.
Land's politely giving you the third degree because your comment focused on the the most negative interpretation of an erroneous statement. Samantha's talking about 8.6 and 8.7. And guess what? She exaggerated, misrepresented.
"I suppose not," mutters the heroine. Her hand reaches out and slides the glass door shut. When she looks back at you, the friendliness in her eye is gone, replaced by cold, mechanical analysis. "After all, I expect the first people you called for help was the group that made your staff. The only explanation for why your father still lies here is that they could not help. And yet, they created your third teammate," she adds with a momentary glance at Samantha, "which would require no little skill with manipulating brains and memories.

"I must admit, I am curious at this incongruity."
"Oh?" Alexandria asks in a cool voice. "Then explain it to me."
Alexandria quirks her lips at you,
"Is this supposition or confirmed fact?" Alexandria asks quietly.
A raised hand cuts you off. "Point of clarification. Is this TSAB truly interstellar, or inter-dimensional?"
"A group of humans, not aliens, who work in the Time-Space Administration Bureau," Alexandria asks with a raised eyebrow, as though she is trying to explain something basic to a child who should know better.
"What aren't you telling me?" Alexandria all but demands.

Samantha bristles at her tone, but you soothe the angry Guardian Beast with gentle petting. With all the bombshells you're dropping on her, a little rudeness is easily excused. She isn't shouting at you, which is a step up from the last time you explained all this.
Her expression has softened again, which you count as a win.
Only once did Alexandria say anything approaching hostility. Danny was more aggressive than Alexandria. Not that Samantha cares.

So yeah. You're wrong because you didn't see an IC error.

shrug All i could figure from the chapter besides his description which suggests the knight was how he's insistent on being Epoch's right hand man and helping with all those rituals which suggests a support type. Maybe.

I think the hint in question was how he used both hands to shake Taylor's as if he were afraid of crushing it.

My thoughts about Maclibuin:
- He's a Brute, but he named himself after a legendary smith, that created a super-sharp sword and mechanical leg. Before forming Adepts with Epoch he called himself Hammerstroke. I presume he was a smith himself.
- He didn't care that his Linker Core is less powerful than Epoch's. Doesn't actually want to use magic in fight?
- While Epoch created primitive flight and shooting spells, Maclibuin created rituals to imbue items with magic.

My conclusion: he's not really a fighter, he's a craftsman. A Gadgeteer.

Hmmm.

What are the possible socials?
-Vista, give her an arm
-Tim, talk about Dragonslayers
-Dragon, talk about Dragonslayers
-Perfect Storm, talk about past
-Laura
-Kayleigh
-Former Adepts, talk about magic

Who else is there?

We already have, have we made a better one yet?

We did, one improved with the full sensory nerve-interface and such as we'd not waited for that I guess :p note the arm in our key items. Though at this rate (and depending on timing of potential vote actions) we might even manage to bring along a combat model to give both! :p Since Tims build sessions are usually set between the first and second block of events.

Could give it to her with an explanation of figuring she's had the good-as-new fauxflesh model long enough to soothe PRT worries, so now she gets the extra special toy to celebrate end of the combination Gang-War and S-Class-Truce that was keeping Wards penned up. (Or I'm entirely wrong and gonna get in trouble, because Tim's builds complete at the end of week two or something ^_^ worth discussing)

I'm against going further with the (ex-)Adepts this round. We just did some stuff with them and had to leave to give them time to sort themselves out. We've probably reset the timer on them, so it should be safe to delay at least a round or two of social advancements.

Vista's timer was specified as being short at the same time the Adepts' was. This means we need to dedicate a social slot to her this round, as we don't know when we'll next be able to. Dragon is also on a fairly short timer, and thus should be dealt with promptly as well.

The other options aren't urgent in the way Vista, Dragon, and to a lesser extent the Adepts are. As far as I know, Perfect Storm having a social plot to advance is purely audience speculation. Silently Watches is surely willing to make a plot if we ask for one, but we have enough on our plate at the moment without looking for more stuff to do. Additionally, the social slots mainly seem to be for people we don't see that often or have something fairly major to be done with. Our relationships with the other options are fairly stable at least. We see Kayleigh at school everyday and don't need to use a slot to get banal interaction with her offscreen, and there's nothing important we need to do with her. We don't have any real need to seek out Calireach at the moment, she's also merely an acquaintance anyway.

Lastly, trying to merge hanging out with Vista with hanging out with Kayleigh and/or Calireach is a terrible idea on every level.

It's 5:32pm EST. Time to vote.

-[X]Social 1: Vista-Slumberdome.

-[X] Social 2: Raid the Dragonslayer Base
--[X]Bring Tim and Dragon along as well.

As in the title, I'm cribbing from Archeo Lumiere, but there's some key differences. For one, the Privateers have been stated by SW as not impossible to fix, so last time was just a necessary bump in the road and we should start seeing some* improvements now. Second, a slumber party is going to be more worthwhile an interaction than just showing up for a 'work event', and it's something I know some of you are very interested in.* Thirdly, we now know Dragon's Unison project is not only on a timer as well, but tied to the social slots.

*No Kayleigh or Laura though. We've been over that. No.

No.

#1, don't do plans for these activities. It's going to mess with the counter like nobody's business. Each activity is its own parent vote.

#2, don't number your socials. I'm going to take the two that win, not rank them based on what priority you give them.

#3, you can fucking wait until I get home from work to open the vote.

Vote 9.5

NOW you can vote.

[ ] Tickets to Gangland, Part 2 – The immigrant gang issues are worse than you first thought, to the point there are rumors that the Protectorate is calling in reinforcements. Lo and behold, they're soon to hold a press conference. Check it out and see if it's anyone you know.
[ ] Close Encounters of the Third Kind – The Enforcers captured you then let you go with an apology, but you have to wonder just what in the world was really going on. Call up your friend the Admiral and grill him for a little more detail.
[ ] Long Live the King, Part 2 – Hooray for internal power struggles! Right? …No? Okay. You don't have the political capital to sway this situation on your own, but everyone says what matters isn't what you know but who you know. Get Kurt, Alexander, and some others behind closed doors and see if that helps.
[ ] Looking for Trouble – Go on patrol and maybe befriend someone. Or Befriend someone. Same thing, right?

Then the social votes.
[ ] Social – This can be hanging out, exploring other worlds, training, whatever.

OK, let's try that again.
Give her the new arm
I know you were told that was already done.
offer to scan her for magic
We've had long arguments over how that's a bad idea. Drop it.

You know the timer on Dragon is about the Dragonslayer base and the Unison Device, right? Not just hanging out with her?

I am very confused.
I thought we hadn't given her the second, upgraded arm yet, and that Vista was the one of my suggestions to scan that wasn't a problem?
Always Late doesn't want to scan her on the possibility she does have a Linker Core and wants to give up her powers for magic, 'cause in his eyes Spatial Warping > Standard Magic.

Mind you, I don't disagree on a pure numbers way, but from a narrative stand point I'd like it if she becomes a mage.

1. That's... me mis-remembering. Good call.
2. That's because folks either missed it or didn't care about being wrong. (The former's where I fall, mea culpa.) Even deviceless, Vista using active magic would cause her to be less effective with her top-tier power.

And I'd like it if people actually remembered the WOG. So it's not 'narrative', it's a bad idea.
