I know we're going to have to open up recruitment soon enough, but that seems like an invitation for every interested party on two continents to try to infiltrate our forces further than they already have.
I'm thinking about what kind of holdings to set up for Uthero already. It'll probably be in the Disputed Lands (unfortunately named, well definitely have to relabel them when we finish our conquest of the area). The only question is where.
I'm thinking, in all likelihood, it'll be on the coast. Maybe near some kind of natural harbor, though there will probably be a settlement right next to any of the good ones. Not a real problem, maybe even a boon.
Something unfortunate to think about, I had toyed with the idea of putting shipbuilding operations within his purview, but that region is more well known for fertile farmland, not lots of forests or much in the way of timber. Though I'm sure there's a way to play that angle even still. The Crown Arsenal will be in SD anyway, and we could probably get him involved in such a project. Also gives him a bit of positioning in our court in one swoop.
As for the castle itself, I'm wondering what architecture he'd be enamored with? A big fancy castle is kind of vague, but I think he'd appreciate a bit of sorcerous flare to it. Part of the reason I wanted to get manuals and books about extra-planar architecture, so that we could lend an air of mysticism and exoticism to our building projects.
Just for a fun project, books or drawings/plans on architecture from Fire, Air, Water and Earth would be neat to sort of amalgam into one, coherent, building.
Not Westhaven. The man deserves something better. Why not just build him a castle in the Disputed Lands--notably after like six months or more of the area being pacified and after violence in general has died down.
@DragonParadox how are The Long Axes equipped? Hand axes and shields or great-axes?

Maybe near Whisperwell or something. That area seemed nice.
Great axes so long they can serve as polearms in a pinch and hand axes for bearding operations.
So, how much of their fee is skill and how much is armour/weapons, as we intend to be able to go to "holy shit, everyone is in mastercrafted + mundane bonuses full plate (if it suits them).
450 men for 2k might be a bit pricy... eh, we need boots on ground more than cash.

Point. Then again, all the more reason to have a strong fortress right in the middle of the area. Maybe we should let Uthero commission a dozen or so constructs to man the fortress when we get around to building it.Yeah, but then we released the Deva, it's probably worse than most other places as the people aren't used to dealing with all of the "asshole" energies that come pouring in.
