Huh. That's… Odd. Can't… No, no, no… Ah. Can't feel him at all. Oh well, not as if I'm an expert at this yet.
This feels like a fake out. After his death was revealed in the Renegade timeline we're obviously going to expect this means he's died in the Paragon timeline. But I honestly don't believe it and it feels like a fake out.

Unless Alan is the first person OL tries to bring back. Man, whatever horrible side-effects it apparently comes with is not something Alan deserves.

What's wrong with Blue?
Well in this instance it maybe the fact that it is untethered Blue meaning that it isn't reliant on any other type of light to keep it in line. It's unrestricted Hope and that's a very dangerous thing in the wrong hands.
It's not Orange.

Loved that. And damnit, I hope Alan isn't dead. He recharged damn you Zoat! He recharged!
Alan isn't dead, he just can't be sensed through avarice because he's mostly made of will.

Nightmares in this continuity, also, I'd be quite annoyed. I might even ignore my tea to huff. I wouldn't be driven insane.

That said, Alan with a Green and a Blue lantern. The amount of green light he has should become a hell of a lot more.

The primary function of any Blue Lantern Ring is the capacity to re-energize and supercharge the powers of a Green Lantern ring, for just as a green ring enables a blue ring to use its fullest functions a blue ring can augment the powers of a green one. Prolonged charging of which has the dangerous effect of overloading said ring, however, causing it to implode taking off the light wielders hand in the process. So, we should hope Paul remembers this when he warns Alan, who is definitely still alive.

What's wrong with Blue?
She's just upset about these dang whippersnappers who's races are barely a few million years old building personal lantern without reservoirs of the specific light of emotion they intend to use...

...basically, she's irritated by the casual display of ability at something I'm pretty sure the Controllers or Guardians couldn't do. Hell, I'm pretty sure the Zamorans couldn't do that either, given what happened with the crystal they lost.

Imagine a Nazi running around saying, "I never realised how exploitable the democratic process is! This is gonna be great!"

That's basically what's happened here.

Well, two things. First, as I recall it, Alan was a member of the League as Blue Lantern in one of the League Rosters for the second season analogue. Given that's still at least 3 years away in story, it's likely he's going to show up again. Though, given that Dmitri Pushkin seems to have gotten the nod when he wasn't going to originally, perhaps things have changed. Second, unrestricted Blue Light is ridiculously overpowered. Ganthet and Sayd, who were the two most progressive Guardians around, were incredibly choosy about who got access to it.

Blue Lanterns are capable of channeling ambient hope to do ridiculous reality breaking things. All they need is a spark of Hope to grow, and they can do things that are probably beyond all other Corps. Not to mention the fact that a Blue Lantern enhances the power of the Green and Indigo lights. All in all, Blue Lanterns are OP as all get out.
EDIT:
My apologies. It had been so long (years really) I hadn't realized it was still a spoiler.

I think she was primarily disturbed by the fact that Paul got a Weaponer of Qward to harness the power of hope.
...she better not find out about the stuff he's already done with the power of love anytime soon, then, if that was her reaction to blue light.

I'm still sad that our good buddy the Fear Elemental got shanked by Nabu, because then we'd only be missing Red and Indigo from the spectrum... all of them on Earth, proving once again where the true Center of the Universe is, you damn smurfs.

So close to a full sentai team, Paul, just gotta keep trying.

The way that one guy was able to channel black lantern energy with a black lantern symbol makes me wonder if you couldn't grant lantern powers with a soul tattoo.

So why have the weaponer make a blue lantern. I thought Alan needed a green lantern?
Blue Lantern can power any Ring, regardless of colour.

EDIT: I'm trying to find the source on this, but I don't remember where I read it. I'm sure Bro'dee Walker deliberately hid the full capabilities of the Blue Light to protect the Blue Lantern Corps from getting targeted by everyone.
