So while waiting for this update to post, I hopped over and read your other story. Ended up switching back to this one on Paul's way back to the apartment to find him going back to the apartment...

Jade looks thoughtful for a moment. "You know… Since you've paid the balance of my contract, we're not in a professional relationship any more."

"Um. True?" I nod. "Don't take this the wrong way, but I'm hoping that I never have to hire you for something like this again."

Why is she wincing?

"Not that I'm in any way complaining about your professionalism, but-."

She holds up her right hand. "Stop."

"Okay?"

"I thought Artemis was joking."
That last line right there? Best part of the update.

The confrontation with the League has left me more than a little out of sorts. That, and the talk with Rob and Alan… And the proper talk I'm going to have with Kon and M'gann before I leave.
Aww, I was kinda hoping we would see Alan's goodbye. Oh well, if it isn't on camera then it can't have been too consequential.

Oh, and Alan is still on a time limit with his ring charge. Would the SI not return immediately upon having a working solution for him? Zoat's comments have made it seem like he won't even come back at all for a few months.
Turning up with the Orange Central Power Battery would give me an obvious negotiating advantage, and I want to do something about the military domination of the Citadel Complex. That's a bit more urgent than the Reach, though not as important.
Is it more urgent? The Reach are doing things on a much larger scale. Any delay at all would add up to more suffering than the Zamarons feel very quickly.

Granted, Vega would be much easier to clean up compared to fighting the Reach, so there's a good reason to do that first. Get some recruits without having to push the Reach off a world.

On the other hand -I press the doorbell again- I could be in a bit of a sticky situation of Larfleeze notices that I'm-
situation if Larfleeze
Then I stand and lead forwards, holding it out to her.
and lean forwards, holding

How well would Paul go VS Larfleeze, I wonder? They're both Orange lanterns, but isn't Larfleeze almost entirely greed-driven and... not so good at tactics? Or something?

I was under the impression that "Rob" and "Alan" were being listed with the "proper talk" with Meg/Kon, placing those talks in the future as well. If those talks were in the past, he should say "talks" with Rob and Alan, unless he spoke to them together, which seems weird.

He'll probably overpower the SI and assimilate him.

SI can probably no sell Larfleeze assimilation techniques. Larfleeze advantage is Infinite 50,000% charge or whatever the OCPB gives him and the Odles of Construct Lanterns to bury Paul in.

SI has tactical advantage because he can think rationally. Larfleeze is crazy and easily fooled or enraged. Larfleeze hasn't fought anything in whatever millions of years near a Full powered and prepared Lantern. (I think.) So him just being ganked by Paul Accelerating himself is possible.

That's not even mentioning Ophidian!Paul just saying You cannot use our light.

All in all it might be tough but I'm certain Paul could win.

Edit: Also a passing thought I had for where all those extra Orange Power Rings came from. Larfleeze made them cause he wanted MORE of them. His shinies. Didn't Paul ask his Ring how long it would take to make a Personal Lantern at the beginning and it was like a week of high Avarice and all the Power his ring had? Larfleexe with OCPB just did that with Rings.

Edit 2: Might come down to who can out Orange Light the other.

Orange Enlightenment + Ophidian =/= OCPB + Millions of years of Orange Light Exposure to the third most direct source.

If it takes Paul a week to get somewhere in his spaceship I fully expect him to arrive at his destination with 300% charge. Unless a good reason otherwise is explicitly given in gonna be annoyed at Paul for not going for the safe and easy power up.
