I suspect that after this, combined with the incident with Aquaman's kid, the league might insist on questioning OL under the Truth Lasso regarding some things, they won't force it, but they'll frame it as trust gone without it, and he'll wind up doing it and coming clean about some things like his actual age and possibly comic book knowledge that will screw up his relationships with them.

Like said not all will feel this way (Batman will likely completely understand right off the bat since it's totally something he would do) but everyone has different beliefs and thoughts processes on how to handle things in general so they will naturally be some tension at the very least.

Diana will likely be happy at the result but at the same time be slightly betrayed that someone she considers a ward did not believe he could trust her on this even if logically he couldn't. Same thing with Guy since he see's OL as a good friend.

Sorta like the situation with Aquaman's other son how OL views a certain thing might not be viewed the same way.

All we can hope for is that in the long term mostly everyone understands the reasoning is in the end happy with the result so OL being away from earth will allow heads to mostly cool.
But how will Boris Johnson feel that the "lich" he agreed to let OL take down in public in London under his watch was a JL member? Think of how important his feelings of betrayal will be!

(tumbleweed rolls through)

Soon, Paul will have achieved what no member of the light, nor any other villain has achieved throughout the entire story.

He will succeed in killing a member of the justice league.

Paragon. Do what is right. Regardless.

+ponders who is going to meet Paulragon at the end of this arc+

Mirror to Renegrayven, he is prepared to move behind the others, knows the consequences, and is prepared to be hated.
Who is taking Darkseid's place in this scenario then?

SI seems to be mentally prepared for the fallout from the JLA and the Team on offing Dr. Fate.

Now, what would really throw him for a loop is if Zatara criticizes him after he's freed. He's a hero, after all; maybe he'd made peace with being a martyr for a good cause (having Dr. Fate's powers in play for the good guys). And he'd definitely disapprove of having his daughter getting as involved with a Constantine plot as they have, much less their plans having made John a frickin' Lord of Chaos.

"Won't be a problem on professional occasions." After the 7th.
One way or another he'll be off the Justice League.

Yay, supervillainy! Embrace your feelings, Paul!

Now remember, there is a certain code of conduct here: You are contractually obligated to monologue at length at least once, preform at least one half-decent maniacal cackle/laugh, and a few "Just-as-Planned/That's-inconceivable"s, depending on how the plan goes. There's a code of conduct here, Paul, and if you don't follow it then the writers forget about you.

Also, you're going to need a new name. I recommend "NEGAPAUL!"; I'm pretty sure its not taken.

Dammit. This really hit me. Diana holds Paul in extremely high regard, firmly believing that he will not fail in what he tries to do, and the entire fucking League thinks he is worthy of joining them. Everything that he has done, the connections that he's fought for, the ideals he perpetuated, the competence and bravery he's always maintained has led up to this.

And then it all goes to smoke in the wind! Its like a caterpillar turning into a butterfly: it digests itself and and then uses the materials to build something much cooler. Have fun with the black eyeliner, Paul!

I'm honestly half-expecting this, or something like this. Maybe Zatarra's magic continues to muck things up after OL's intervention.

Nah, I don't think that would really have much of an impact on Paul here.
He isn't freeing Zatara for his own sake, he's doing it for Zatanna and there's no way short of her dad dieing in the process that she's going to get pissed at Paul over this.

If they turn to ash because of his freeing someone from possession, I'm not sure I'd want them as friends then tbh :/
They are warring with the universe or will be to protect earth and maintain some form of justice. You may Hate a person but back them because despite them hating you too they back you up. The comrad's at arms thing coupled with their being so few Magical practitioner's of Fates level. Personally I hope that Paul rethinks releasing that info to the press, keep it internal.
Though lords of order/chaos are on the levels of gods right? I'm actually really curious as to their reaction knowing he has had both lords killed.

"Thanks, Mom." He takes a moment to look at the icing representations of our team mates for a moment before plunging the knife through the cake and cutting me in half. I pass him a small plate as he takes out the first slice. "Oh, hey, I've been meaning to ask." He plates the slice and passes it down the table. "Have you see Teekl lately?"

A pang. Fortunately, I'm prepared to cover it. "No, can't say I have."

"'cause…" Another slice. "I haven't seen her, and I think Wolf's been looking for her? Do you think she might have wandered off?"

And Diana's right next to me. "I don't know exactly what's happened to her. I haven't been getting.. any mental pictures or anything. I'll keep an eye out."

Would this trip up Wonder Woman's lie detection? He's actively changing his speech to avoid saying an outright lie in front of her.

And I'll try and keep an eye out for the crazy space Amazons, because as a citizen of Themyscira they're kind of my problem now.
I'm reading on my phone, and avoiding visiting Wikia links because they fuck up everything. Could someone give me a high points recap? Like, are they literally Amazons, the way I'm half-Italian despite never having been there in my life? Or are they aliens who are Amazonian in stature or are in some other way Amazonian without being literally Amazonian?

"W-wrf." She glances at me, gives her tail a wag and licks her lips.
Oh, right. Ring translation. Forgot about that.

I am surprised the ring isn't translating wolf.
No, it is. We're just not seeing it. OL understands and responded just fine.

I'm hoping Paul opens things up with "Klarion's gone. Now release him." followed by proof. Just to justify forcible eviction if he doesn't let go. That was probably the League's plan in the first place - hunting down Klarion in an attempt to convince Nabu to back off.

The League member I'm worried about most is Batman. He's probably the one with a contingency against Paul going rogue the moment the vow is up.

Alright, I've never been able to figure it out. What was the gift OL gave KF for his birthday? Something spacey. Moon rock? Asteroid? Something from the 11th planet? Will Paul build a shrine there on his way out?

Queen Hips eldest sister who was taken by aliens, and her daughters.

Diana's Aunt Astarte leads a band of wandering murderhobos in space.

Nice idea, and given Zoats style, he'd probably open with something more diplomatic, but similar to that.

Of course he has the contingency, but he seems to respect Paul enough, and would understand that he's not going rogue.

In space, as in D&D, there are no legal jurisdictions to say that's a bad thing.

I'm wondering if the Nabu event and Paul leaving Earth is going to be the end of the story. Certainly it would entail changing the setting and supporting characters dramatically. Not to mention their relationships with him.

I'm also wondering if there's going to be a last-minute upset in the form of Paul's plan getting into a trainwreck with a similar (and possibly more likely successful) free-Zatara plan being run by a selection of League members. A plan Paul couldn't know anything about for obvious reasons. If someone on the League has been slowly bringing Nabu around to the idea of an alternative host in the time since he started wearing Zatara, for instance, and Nabu's about to agree, Paul is going to throw a massive spanner in the works.

Not to mention that if he's prevented from achieving successful global character assassination on Nabu for any reason, everything currently positively linked to 'Orange Lantern' - Ted Kord, Boris the Mayor, several supervillains attempting to re-enter society, quite a lot of very advanced technology, and even the Young Justice team itself - is going to experience a huge backlash.
