Personally I've liked the adventurous moments the best so I'm voting for more of that. The best moments have been moments like kidnapping the thieving noble, raiding the tomb for the tax documents, Killing the Singing King and fighting the shark god.
Yeah, the best moments were when we were doing or seeing cool things.
And in the process fell down a hole and died. Let's not try to emulate the Grey Wanderer too closely, hm?
He came back as Gandalf the White; keeping in mind that the other guy called the White broke himself into a bunch of different colors when he went crazy, the analogue would be Qhaysh rather than Hysh.

[X] Being available to intervene in matters of great import as needed
[X] Research and Development (thaumaturgical) (ie. stuff derived from Shyish-Kebabs and Qhaysh juice)
[X] Interrogation
[X] Seeking adventure in Belegar Ironhammer's reconquest of Karak Eight Peaks.
[x] Seeking adventure in the Zhufbar expeditions into Karak Varn.

....I don't suppose we could spend another month or two training up our Intrigue? Can we come back later for a remedial course?

Was just looking at our spell-list. It seems Cloak Activity might be a really useful enchantment for ranged combat and downright deadly in melee. Seeming like we're doing one attack and suddenly turning out that we switch to another would give us an opening to kill most enemies at our level. If we can activate it reliably, we'd become a murder blender.

EDIT: Cloak activity basically makes it seem like we're doing one thing, when we're actually doing another. The actual spell lasts for about half an hour.

Stick that enchantment on our sword.

Aside from potential problems brought on by bringing a bunch of spies(and spies in training) near the Liber Mortis, the Colege(and apprentices) are for me by far the least appealing options. I would almost rather vote for insanity(the second coming of Nagash option).

[X] Seeking adventure in Belegar Ironhammer's reconquest of Karak Eight Peaks.
[X] Seeking adventure in the Zhufbar expeditions into Karak Varn.
[X] Seeking knowledge by investigating the phenomena and manifestations of Sylvania.

[X] Enchantment Commissions (payment in cash)
[X] Enchantment Services (payment in College rep)
[X] Interrogation
[X] Being available to investigate reports of unsanctioned magic-users.
[X] Being available to intervene in matters of great import as needed

Sounds would be great for scouting if it wasn't limited to line of sight. Tunnel warfare would limit that too much to be useful as a radio-equivalent.

I really want to experiment with the snake juice now, because something occurred to me.

It's basically High Magic in a bottle that we can't use, so what would happen if we fed it to a wild animal? Instant familiar? Horrible monstrosity? Beastman? The possibilities are endless!

[X] Seeking adventure in Belegar Ironhammer's reconquest of Karak Eight Peaks.
[X] Seeking knowledge by building a branch campus of the Grey College in Stirland, possibly on your estate.

There seems to be a significant amount of support for furthering the Dwarf rep, and of the two options this seems like it would be the most interesting choice. The land isn't all that valuable by itself, and I don't see why the Elector Countess would object as her issue is wizards being near her person due to her belief that they tend to explode violently, which isn't entirely unreasonable.

Between the two option college rep are more useful than physical wealth, and this is shown when Regimand burned a lot of them to clean out an entire branch of a cult that extended all the way to the Imperial family. Mathilde does have a trait for this, and I imagine there aren't a whole of individuals within the order experienced in this matter. Considering there is no way the players are willing to give up the box this seems logical. The last two are open ended options that should keep life interesting.

Stick that enchantment on our sword.
I was wondering if we could stick it on something else. Using it with guns could also be useful, since it's difficult to dodge or block if people don't know where we're aiming.

It might also be interesting to get Shoes of Airwalking, and Noise/Flash grenades. The latter would be extremely useful in tunnels if we go the dwarf route.

It isn't like we keep the Liber Mortis on our estate now. There's no reason to move it from the sunken palace just because we have a visible residence elsewhere.

Yeah but in a melee fight the effect would be a lot more pronounced, especially in a duel as it only takes one slip up to decide the match.

I'm sure Mathilde is feeling reeeaal kindly towards the Amethyst Order huh
Hey, the worst that can happen is they kill themselves trying to figure out the swords! :p

I do not agree with the reporting structure of "Third person" plan, it seems like self-incriminating or self-reporting to the college/spy agency for no good reason. The thing about nondescript slogans is its difficulty to disprove and ease to prove. The college will be vetting Mathilde regardless, so there really isn't a need to write much on a paper with unknown destination.
The good reason for self-incriminating is the exam question saying "To the best of your knowledge, assess" and not "Write a job recommendation for". I'm more concerned this isn't self-reporting enough, and wondering whether I should take Imrix's suggestion to also mention the embezzlement.

I like the third person Report A,except for the part where we talk about our Ranald worship. Who we worship isn't important (besides the Chaos Four), and one of the major tenants of Ranald worship is not talking about Ranald.
Mathilde is a wizard before she is a priest, the Grey College almost certainly has heard about her attempt to push Ranald on the Stirland Watch and will expect this mentioned, and dedication to a god other than Sigmar is a relevant fact that should be mentioned to the College when assessing someone's dedication to Sigmar's Holy Empire.
(Also, it's "tenet", and there's several other forbidden gods beside the Chaos Four.)

@Exmoorri it's probably too late now, but because your vote is titled "[] Third Person Report A" instead of "[] Plan Third Person Report A", the vote tracker doesn't count it as a plan and your vote is by default tallied seperately from everyone else's.
Argh. Here it is again now as plan, for what it's worth:

[X] Plan Third Person Report A
-[X] Evidence suggests that Journeywoman Mathilde Weber has an exceptionally high level of dedication to the Empire foremost. Beyond the ties and duties mandated by the Articles of Magic, there is also her dutiful work in the service of Stirland, the Knighthood that she requested from the Elector Count thereof and received with due affirmation, and upon the death of said Elector Count, both her decision to continue and her thorough execution of his crusade against the vile undead. Weber has also built a good rapport with the Dwarfs, closest allies of the Empire, and shown a willingness to overcome personal prejudices in appealing to the Light College for aid against enemies of the Empire. Her contacts in Altdorf and Stirland provide further motivation for her to wish the continued health of the Empire, above and beyond the the normal ties of a human citizen that would naturally hope to live in a country populated by fellow humans speaking the same language. However, it must be noted that Weber is a worshipper of Ranald rather than Sigmar.
-[X] Weber's dedication to the Grey College is also solidly loyal but not as personally zealous. It took prodding from her Master to get her to return to the College from journeying, but when she did, she demonstrated high aptitude and appetite for learning. Weber also has the gratitude that might be expected of a Wizard towards her College: for tutoring, for safety, for social and legal protection, for credit, for other services provided.
-[X] Weber's dedication to humanity is as high as might reasonably be expected from a wizard of low birth. Despite near execution by paranoid peasants in her childhood, her battles in Sylvania speak of a woman willing to fight for the living against the dead. As with most humans, she is less than entirely self-sufficient and therefore to an extent dependent on the existence of a human society to acquire goods and services.

And then reposting my other votes so they don't get overwritten and lost
[x] Seeking employ as an advisor to an Elector of the Empire.
[x] Seeking adventure in the Zhufbar expeditions into Karak Varn.
(let's not go Full Dwarf in eight peaks yet)
[x] Seeking adventure as a mercenary, ideally with Asarnil the Dragonlord, and possibly build a Mercenary Company of your own.
[x] Seeking knowledge by building a branch campus of the Grey College in Stirland, possibly on your estate.
[x] Seeking knowledge by investigating the phenomena and manifestations of Sylvania.

[x] Enchantment Services (payment in College rep)
(but not Commissions)
[x] Interrogation
(Mathilde even has a particular trait for this)
[x] Research and Development (thaumaturgical) (ie. stuff derived from Shyish-Kebabs and Qhaysh juice)
[x] Being available to investigate reports of unsanctioned magic-users.
[x] Being available to intervene in matters of great import as needed

If possible then it's a fun idea, where the opponent can't trust their lying eyes.

Bretonians would probably look down on it for being dishonorable but Mathilde is unlikely to care, the practical woman that she is.

I can imagine a fight between her and an enemy champion including that scene where she swings her sword, the champion moves to block with their weapon only for the illusion to pass right through doing nothing and then revealing that she did a thrust instead and just impaled him through the heart.

It's an idea at least. I was mostly hoping to enchant the sword with something else, to double up on effects. Plus, we haven't learned this particular spell, so it'd be a while until we can do the enchantment.

On other enchantments, I wonder if we can enchant Push on our gun to enhance the bullet force. It would probably give it more penetrating power.

Why does this need to be done now? You are killing every ambition of adventuring and research for the next fourty turns.

This was a few pages back, but not cool, man.

Number one, this vote is referring to the next five years, or ten turns rather than forty. Two, as when Mathilde was spymistress not every action will need to be spent on what we choose, so research and small adventures will be perfectly available.

Nobody's arguing against your choices with such exaggerations. Don't lower the standard.

Eh more valuable to put something like Silence on the bullet or Bewilder.

Does our Blessed Hands mastery apply to bullets from our gun?

If we're thinking of personal weapon enchantments, an optional silencer and flash suppressor for the revolver is a good idea. Also a glove of Burning Shadows so we can quickly, safely and reliably invoke it a couple of times a day rather than risk trying to cast it mid battle.

See that tally? That's going to be a bitch to parse. How does the GM decide what one, or two, or which multiple of options are actually wining in terms of Colledge duties?

[X] Seeking adventure as the second coming of Nagash, searching for ways to overcome the final enemy of life. (you won't actually write this on the paper, but choose it if this is what you want Mathilde to do)
[X] Seeking knowledge by investigating the phenomena and manifestations of Sylvania.

[X] Enchantment Services (payment in College rep)
[X] Interrogation
[X] Research and Development (thaumaturgical) (ie. stuff derived from Shyish-Kebabs and Qhaysh juice)
[X] Being available to investigate reports of unsanctioned magic-users.

I request that you please clean up the tally before inserting it into thread in the future, the raw data is full of noise. For example, the following are separate entries that should be merged for the count:
- "Enchantment Services" and "Enchantment Services (payment in College rep)"
- "Seeking knowledge by building a branch campus of the Grey College on your estate in Stirland." and "Seeking knowledge by building a branch campus of the Grey College in Stirland, possibly on your estate."
- "Seeking employ as an advisor in the Provinces of the Empire." and "Seeking employ as an advisor to an Elector of the Empire."
- "Third Person Report A" and "Third Person Report A" with and without sub-entries
- "Research and Development (thaumaturgical)" and "Research and Development (thaumaturgical) (ie. stuff derived from Shyish-Kebabs and Qhaysh juice)"
