Mordheim doesn't send any energy to Kislev's Waystones.
Like, it never did, but it especially doesn't now, given that the flow from Mordheim to the Nexus in Ostermark was cut off.
I'd like to get an idea if we're in the middle of something very big here.
Well, Mordheim wouldn't come into the picture, it's the flow from Kislev City that's potentially being intercepted. Meaning in theory, if we confirm that it's a result of hostile action & can get the Ice Witches on board, we could potentially pull a repeat of our trick at Vlag - cut off the flow on purpose to fuck with whatever they're using it for, then restore it after before a clog forms. The thing is, if true... what do we do about it? It's not like we would have time to travel down the Mordheim and break the flow to them there.
Personally the reason I was down for Waystone action at first was that I thought we would be going in the woods potentially find a hijacked stone and do something about it. If we just get confirmation that it has been messed with that changes nothing, we still need to fight the host of Athel Loren, stone or no.
Unfortunate but reasonable. I suppose particularly given the events of the latest update it'd be rather too much to hope for them to just not be paying close enough attention to notice.Ice Witches will react catastrophically badly to a male magic-user that appears to be trying to pry into Ice Witch secrets, and Ice Witch secrets is one possible cause of Kislev's Waystones not doing what Mathilde expects them to be doing.
Knowing that you're about to wrestle a grizzly instead of a cub is helpful, even if you're still going to do it anyway. Why? I mean the only thing that might help with would be if we then choose to run and I do not see the thread voting for that.

Important question that has suddenly occurred to me, @Boney: If the Tzar gets here, he launches the attack. If the Boyar whose lands these are gets here, he launches the attack. Does the Tsarevich launch the attack if he gets here, or does he wait for one of the others?
Right now, given how we seem to have several vital things to do and not enough time to do them in, I think we're all hoping that the Tzar doesn't get here quickly and we are waiting on the Boyar instead, so we have four actions with which to work instead of two. But if the Tsarevich triggers the assault, we suddenly have to seriously reconsider if we want the Kreml Guard now or if we're willing to risk the Tzar getting here "too early" in order to try to fit more actions in.
However do we know canonically, that he never wrestled actual bears for bad or no reason?the guy that canonically wrestled an actual bear, but he had good reason for doing so

Fantastic. That seemed likeliest to me, but with all the talk about how Kislev doesn't brook enemies on its turf and the attitudes mentioned of the other potential commanders, I thought it made sense to check. The Tsarevich is a sensible guy. I mean, I know I'm talking about the guy that canonically wrestled an actual bear, but he had good reason for doing so. And the sensible thing to do here is wait for at least one of the Zavstra and Kislev City rotas to arrive, which gives you at least those four days.
Warhammer: the place where 'wrestled an actual bear' can be a sensible life choice. The Tsarevich is a sensible guy. she ships them as well"That will take word to the city. Did you and your man bring horses, Chief Witch?"
