Transposition, or: Ship Happens [Worm/Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio | Arpeggio of Blue Steel]

That was a request and a statement of opinion, not an order. Ensou could probably make it work, but I would prefer for that not to be necessary.

Anyway, get off your high horse.
<makes his high horse ride on top of another high horse>
Well, besides the "please" part, it sounded like you were telling ensou what character not to include, with the implicit threat of stopping reading the story, or whining about how the story is "ruined" by Aisha's presence.

I do have my own prejudices against certain characters, but I try to keep my trap shut about it until they appear in the story, and not pre-emptively try to affect the author into not including them.

I wouldn't say it's "bad"... No, scratch that, I totally would.

To be more specific, it's rushed. There's tons of parts, and when everything is combined into a singular world some of them simply don't mesh well with each other or outright cancel or contradict each other. As it was mentioned before, some of that is inevitable thanks to it's serial nature and lack of a editor.

Besides, is "whatever, nothing is perfect anyway" really a valid defense?
No, it's not a valid defense, and it's not really what I was saying.

What I'm saying is more like that it's better about consistency than a lot of other fiction, including many classics and other excellent works... However, no piece of fiction is perfect, and it's been picked over in a lot of depth over a long period of time by literally hundreds or even thousands of SBers and SVers and whomever else. We have stopped being satisfied with looking at surface consistency, so we started picking away at things that in a narrative we weren't spending as much time revisiting over and over again, we would ignore. And so we have uncovered all kinds of issues, because we've spent long enough on it to do so.

There's other things to whether a story is good or bad beyond just the level of internal consistency. I actually don't care too much for Worm overall. However, saying that it is unusually inconsistent is incorrect.

So I just reread this from the start to get caught up and… and… somehow I hadn't noticed previously that Taylor is literally growing a backbone while dealing with Sophia and Emma and finishes just after dealing with Emma.

I did enjoy the rewrites by the way, although tbh, the Deathwing fight feels kinda out of place pacing-wise in the rest. It's both a pretty long and involved fight scene in a story that otherwise doesn't have those, and it's also somehow simultaneously really low stakes.

I'm really liking the new arc with Leah and I'm looking forward to where that goes!

Space battleship Yamato 2199 is excellent. If you haven't seen it you should put it on your todo list.
Yeah, and we even have Yamato!Taylor to boot!
Here:
Megiddo (AltPower!Taylor, SBY 2199)

And yeah, I misspelled it.
Also, premise: Taylor "triggered" after death of her mother (we still don't know how exactly it happened) and now she's host of Space Battleship Yamato from SBY2199, including her (Yams') consciousness. And she's shipgirl now of course.

EDIT: Ninja'd.

Also, for those interested, Taylor in that fic looks something like this when going full out:

Just imagine her in Captain's Okita uniform instead of that shirt/skirt combo.
EDIT 2: Also, this is why I want to see that teamup: Infinite Loops: Miscellaneous Section, Catch 3x3 | Page 31

I suppose if we're summoning things that someone should have a tribute ready
After all it's only polite

That might not be enough, maybe paying for a liver transplant will entice him enough to come. And offering up a lesser ship chart or two for sacrifice couldn't hurt.
