Perhaps a timber wolf, given the previous comments. Close enough, right?

I know, right? Next thing you know, there'll be stories of the giant scaled lumberjack who logs entire forests with a single swing being told around camp-fires on Bet.
*groans in approval of the pun*Perhaps a timber wolf, given the previous comments. Close enough, right?
"Oh I'm a timber wolf and I'm okay, I howl all night and I sleep all day..."
Great, now I have the plot bunny of canon Taylor running around looking for fights... and always showing up a minute late. Eh, sounds like it end up like a bad Burn Up.
"Why did you name yourself Lung when it's not actually Chinese, let along Japanese, for Dragon?"
True. However, dragon is Lóng in Mandarin Chinese and Lung would be an acceptable pronunciation.
"Lung" is how it's written in the old Wade-Giles romanization system, which despite being officially replaced by Pinyin in 1958, is nonetheless still used in places outside the mainland (such as Taiwan) even to this day.The problem is that "wolf", or "lang" in pinyin, is closer to how we'd read "Lung", so...
By that you mean use deliberate weaknesses and vulnerabilities left for her opponents by the author for the express purpose of making her win or survive. It's not that shes creative,it was the only option she was given.
Eh, more just that she'd be really unlucky, in my head. Or lucky, I guess? Same effect, just have to work harder to justify why. It would not be the first story I'd try thoughSo, something like Saitama, except her power is the ability to change reality so her enemies are defeated before she even arrives?
That DOES have some potential if a decent crackfic writer gets hold of it.
Or Japan? Ya know, where Lung is from?"Lung" is how it's written in the old Wade-Giles romanization system, which despite being officially replaced by Pinyin in 1958, is nonetheless still used in places outside the mainland (such as Taiwan) even to this day.

That's not really his claim, though. His claim seems to be that Wildbow deliberately gave Skitter's opponents either weak-points that could be exploited for victory, or some way to at least survive the experience. Which is actually pretty insulting to Wildbow. I don't think he's so creatively bankrupt he needed to give himself and his characters training wheels by working a deliberate weakness into the side he wanted to lose.Well, yes, there are very few good stories built around heroes who are incompetent losers.
No, Japan uses Pinyin – or rather the closest phonetic equivalent that their speech palettes are capable of, anyway.Or Japan? Ya know, where Lung is from?
I could also totally see him deliberately using the out-of-date, unofficial, and/or Cantonese pronunciation of the word, purely to piss off the Yangban. A metaphorical middle-finger pointed at the bastards who imprisoned and tortured him, if you will.
Fair enough. That said, Cantonese, and not Mandarin, is actually pretty likely to be the language both Lung and the gang-members in Brockton Bay would be used to, judging by some additional data I turned up.No, Japan uses Pinyin – or rather the closest phonetic equivalent that their speech palettes are capable of, anyway.
(Look at DBZ for the most blatant example: 神龍 Shénlóng ("god/spirit dragon") → "Shenron".)
I have not done creative writing in years, and do not know how. Nonetheless, I shall inflict you with this, because it popped into my head at an opportune time.
Relentless, Dragonslayer
I blinked in confusion at the armored man in front of me. "You want to what?"
"Team up," the guy who had called himself Saint confirmed. "You seem to be in the business of dragon slaying, and we have one you might be interested in."
I wondered how they'd even come to that conclusion. I supposed I had taken down two dragons, more than most, but, "You do know I didn't kill the one, right?"
"And that makes it all the better. We only keep this one in check, for now, as it's still useful, but for the case that it goes too far, we'd like to have you on our side."
Darkening the eyes of my helmet, I scoured the internet for information on Saint looking for just who this dragon might be, which took me to the Dragonslayers, and Dragon, which just increased my confusion. Why would they think I'd help them fight one of the greatest heroes in the world?
I decided to fish for more information personally, and asked "Who? And why?"
"Dragon," he stated, completely serious. What I'd found had indicated they were somewhat obsessed with her, so it wasn't that much of a surprise.
"She's an AI who's been working her way into power for years," he continued, still dead serious.

And that's how I defeated two dragons and saved a third. And gained an older sister.
If my mind figures out something that makes sense and is worth reading, I'll be sure to add it.
I feel that would spoil it.
Yeah I'd considered adding something like that but it just didn't flow rightWell, I do see Saint bringing along Ascalon to show Taylor evidence of Dragon's AI-ness and Taylor turning it into "nanomaterials, daughter". And then the curbstomping begins.
Physical assault is a dumb move, anyway.Yeah I'd considered adding something like that but it just didn't flow right
Chronologically, yes, but Relentless may have unintentionally killed Taylor.

Technically she is an AI based on a full brain upload on Taylor. She is Taylor, and she is also Fog mental model.Chronologically, yes, but Relentless may have unintentionally killed Taylor.
If you are killed by being Uploaded or not is a question that depends on the method of uploading and is mostly philosophical anyway. Some say yes, as long as it's a perfect copy. Some say no, the soul moved on with the body and the upload is just a soulless copy.Chronologically, yes, but Relentless may have unintentionally killed Taylor.
