Transposition, or: Ship Happens [Worm/Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio | Arpeggio of Blue Steel]

Funny thought. Taylor's ship form is... Space Battleship Yamato, from Yamato 2199.
"Amy."
"Victoria?"
"I understand this reference."
"God help us all."

I doubt the whole 'Dallon family is into classic movies' thing is canon, but I like it so shh. And classic anime counts too. :V

I just came across this, and after reading some of the recent comments, I'm a bit confused. Are there more chapters than just the two that are threadmarked, or was the theorizing about Iona, QA, and shipforms just prompted by author comments and the basic crossover elements?

I wrote a couple of omakes, one of which is already kind of canon and the other one is apparently getting canonized because this is my life now I guess? So those are a thing.

Aside from that, it's SV. Theorizing and discussion is like, what people do around here. Probably even when they really shouldn't. :V

(You should totally do more Defiant, though :p)
I really should. Been in a slump for a while, but I'm hoping that I can move forward with that (and Pale Ocean even though it still has no thread, and I've got a decent idea of where to take Overclock/Mainspring now).

wards intro is hard I swear, plus I always keep jamming too much stuff into a short amount of time

But really, that's a topic for another thread.

@Asheram and anyone else interested, Wargaming has posted the ARP mission for December Here. Basically the same as the NA Takao missions, 110,000 base xp over a month, but the rewards for each tier is ships + port slots + captains. There's also Iona, Gunzo and Kirishima (Bear) captains as well as a Fog Flag.

The top reward is Takao again, which I have mixed feelings about. Great if you missed her this month, but it makes me feel like I wasted my time.

Well, see y'all in January, I need to go work my way to a tier VI so I can participate.

... Please tell me that you get funny sound bytes if you use Gunzo at the same time as Takao :p.

Adding my own joke recommendation to the ship thought list.

Taylor should go the Yukikaze route and make something like Banshee IV and load it entirely with Flip-Knight style units.

I'm glad you admit this is a joke, that thing looks ridiculous, like some chuuni's over-ornate drawing of a shuriken crossed with that oversized Romulan ship that killed Data. I'd comment on its aerodynamic failings, but gravity control would solve most of those problems as long as you accept using twice as much power to actively correct instability and overcome unnecessary drag.

I see. But for further Worm Escalation, is it also Lunchtime on a Tuesday?:)
Nah, the coming chapter ends early, early morning Tuesday (sorry for being misleading, totally forgot and was thinking about the chapter after that). Most of the next next chapter is Tuesday proper. And while it has sufficient amounts of escalation, it's primarily social escalation.

Thursday was the bank robbery (April 14).

Mental Model VS. Bank Robbery. Solution? Remove walls with high explosives while protecting civilians with Klein Field before crushing opposition with overwhelming force.

Nah, Taylor won't get involved in that. She'll be at school. There's no reason for her to be out of school, and I want to avoid bits of canon. Plus it'll serve to push us further away, since the outcome will be significantly different without Skitter.

I imagine it may not go as well for the undersiders, and could go really bad for Amy.

Potentially. Amy might also do nothing at all except call for GG. Amy only really got directly involved because she had the chance to by messing with Skitter's bugs. Without that, she may just decide to stay hidden unless she gets an opening.
True, without an obvious method of getting involved quietly, she's a lot more likely to just keep her head down. On the other hand if she does....

Fanon woobie white mage aside, Amy as actually shown in Worm is extremely cynical and kinda bitchy. I'm fine with however things end up going, especially in service of moving the plot in less-traveled directions.

Which may involve bashing Tattletale in the head with a fire extinguisher.
