Time of the Gods: Into the Amber Age

Also, with this....
1. why aren't you using the good and great amber figurines? And why would you want to transmute the poor and okay bone figurines? We should transmute the higher quality ones and not waste the DE on the poor ones.
Incidentally, this set of resources gives:
8 points each for the VP figurines. 12 for the one poor. 20 for the 2 moderates. Assuming all the bone figurines transmuted to obsidian, 6 points for the poor and 8 points for each okay figurine. a full success for the gemstone. So,counting the shrine 7 bonus of +14, a total of 16 + 12 + 40 + 6 + 56 + 20 +14 = 164 points, or 8 successes before rolling. I personally think the temple is ~15-20 successes worth of worth, so i'd rather add in a couple more figurines--and/or more logically, use the moderate bone figurines since those are more efficient to transmute.
Also, @Powerofmind assuming veekie copied that right, then the listing in the actions is wrong; we had 8 total successes stored for the temple.
So would this be better?
-[X] Build a Temple - You are a Goddess! You are deserving of an incredible edifice to your divinity! Maximum Temples 1/3. Costs: 1 Ambrosia, 10 DE, Significant amount of materials (uses T0 materials for construction if not provided personally).
--[X] Continue work on [Keshketev's Basin] temple (4 successes stored).
---[X] Commit converted bone figurines
---[X] Commit Gem Figurines
---[X] Commit Very Poor and Poor Amber Figurines

So would this be better?
That would be...
-However many bone figurines are converted (probably like 5 or 6? so if they're the moderates, then call it 5*5*2 = 50?)
-1 okay, 1 moderate, 1 good gem figurine : 4*3 + 5*3 + 6*3 = 45
-2 VP, 1 Poor amber figurine: 2*2*4 + 1*3*4 = 16 + 12 = 28
So a total of 123 points, 137 counting the shrine boost.

Honestly, unless @Powerofmind can tell us anything more about how far along we are, per Gaerig's knowledge in-universe, i'd personally use most or all of the amber figurines and not even transmute the bone figurines...though i guess thats if we assume rituals all need specifically crafted amber figurines, instead of generic ones, and so our regular amber figurines are only good for shrine boosts.... Hmm.

Um...no we don't?
"Dark Pool Gateway (Physical) - A physical gate forms within the deepest part of every Holy Site you own."

Temples aren't holy sites, i'm pretty sure...
Holy Site = Temples + Holy Place

It was explicit during the discussion. The upkeep even increases by +1 for every Temple built.

The better Amber figurines are held for rituals.

Just an oversight.

-[X] Have Ghette join you in your Mystic research
-[X] Bring Gaelte some small birds, now that he has the Sea Pixies at his beck and call.
-[X] Have the Frauma help with your Harvest Moon transmutations

Reasoning:
-With Excellencies piling up that are difficult to Despise, we need a lot of progress towards Inscrutable One, so in it goes with one in every category
-With many Ritual research actions being done, Moonlight and Silver Moon becomes a natural fit to buff it.
-Which means Inspires go to Astrology/Omens too
-And since we're using Silver Moon, might as well work some weather

-Darken makes for some VE generation on it's own, and empowers Lures.
-And with the Trickery Excellency, Lure is now the most powerful action for generating VE per cost investment. Go spooky at people between the Moon and the Darkens

-Deadly Chill is an experiment. Maybe we can generate Growth with it, maybe we'd explode the berries into icecream or maybe it's just harmless VE. We'll see.

-Harvest Moon is needed to turn the low value materials into high value materials. Then dump a crapton into temple building. Maybe we can get lucky and finish early.

-Speaking of the temple, time to start up the pantheon gathering place. Need to tell them early so that they can put effort towards it in their own time.

-And get Attrouska working. Gift her some ink to get her in a good mood, then have her propagate writing.

-Send out the invites to go explore next year.

-I finally broke out the excel:
Amended see the harvest moon specification tweaked too.

I must have missed that discussion... @Powerofmind do temples count as holy places, either in general or for the gateway we've got?
I dont see the changes you made?

That would be...
-However many bone figurines are converted (probably like 5 or 6? so if they're the moderates, then call it 5*5*2 = 50?)
-1 okay, 1 moderate, 1 good gem figurine : 4*3 + 5*3 + 6*3 = 45
-2 VP, 1 Poor amber figurine: 2*2*4 + 1*3*4 = 16 + 12 = 28
So a total of 123 points, 137 counting the shrine boost.

Text does seem to imply they have to be specific type.
Major Success; Ritual of the Alluring Singer (50 DE, 5 Ambrosia OR 40 Tiers of appropriate Amber Crafts (?)

Study the Bones (Ritual of Unknowable Bodies)
Omen Reading rolled 16
Epic II Success; Accuracy raised to 100%, Amber Craft revealed to be Many-Faceted Craft (DC 60 to create)

Okay, so I'll switch to commit all figurines but bone.

What do you want this turn? What can I do to have you vote for my plan?

Not really sure; i was gonna write up my own plan but at this point i'm just gonna laze about a bit more then go to bed; having my driving lessons at 9am is a good way to get myself back on a sleep schedule before classes start up again, but they also mean my normal habit of getting rid of excess energy through this quest and other nerdy, thought heavy stuff late at night doesn't work since i dont have that excess energy most nights :p

Okay. How about a little more vague. What direction do you want to take Gaerig? It would make it easier to take in different views into consideration when making plans.

[X] Veekie

At least for now.
I'd be much more likely to support a plan that makes progress towards Awesome and Fearful (through Divine Mystery)...

Also, wasn't the cloak going to be a gift for Seski? @veekie

I have Divine Mystery in my plan as well as gifting the cloak to Seski.
Did I miss something about Rituals or isn't like outright making a vote to blow up due to insufficient power?
You can substitute Ambrosia for DE and visa versa. You cannot mix them with Ambercrafts however.

So no this shouldn't cause us to blow up.

Okay, is there anything in particular that you want? I recall you saying that you wanted a Grand Lighthouse and was part of the Monster Crowd. Any particular Monster you're shooting for? Anything else you might be shooting for?
I'm easy to please. I like megaliths and vast structures venerating our magnificence, and I am partial to monsters resembling those of grecian myth; Cerberus, Medusa, Hekatonkheires, the Mares of Diomedes, things like that.

Overall, my vision of Gaerig is a tempest; I'd have preferred weather as a focus over celestial objects, but I'll make due. I want her to be a goddess of the seas as much as she is one of the night skies.

Not by what I could tell of the general discussion at the time. You want to add them, fine, but I said Holy Sites because the vast majority of people were voting for a holy site gate.
Alright. Gotta punch more holes when its built then

Originally, but she doesn't need it anymore. She'd ascend on her own.

Better to help make sure the younger kids make it to ascension.

Also, note that Divine Mystery just means we run out of trait slots even faster.
Inscrutable one is the only way out of that hole long enough to pick up Chimera.

Or we can just lock ourselves out of Chimera I suppose.

Wow veekie. Fearmongering much?

Inscrutable One isn't the only way to get Chimera @Athas . We simply continue as we are now. Avoid Fear Gluts, and despise when we hit trait cap. We've finally reached the point where Arcana Nox traits n longer dominate the Fear Buy Table.

Divine Mystery is a pretty good way to try. Despise traits as a Fear Spirit. Sleep for the relevant traits as a Faith Spirit.

The main advantage of Divine Mystery is to allow Gaerig to digest her Legend and give everyone a break after accidentally blowing up again.

My opinions on things:
- I like both plans in principle, most of the details in both are fine by me.

- Siren might sound nice in concept, but it's just a minor spirit trait, with pretty weak bonuses (which means it just takes a trait slot without adding much), that's why I don't really want it now.

- Chimera and animal aspects aren't all that interesting or important to me. The one I find the most important is Humanity, which we have (although it is still not upgraded if I'm not mistaken). Most of the available animal traits are unattractive to me because the crunch and/or fluff (I won't be against them on principle or anything, just won't push for them).

- I REALLY don't like being a fear spirit, a bit because of the fluff, but mostly due to the mechanics (the need to harm something in order to get anywhere reliably, the constant chance of exploding, the lack of control on traits, etc.). Which is why I'm supporting Divine Mystery (which would allow us to do peaceful turns more effectively when needed, as well as get some traits/attributes more reliably) and especially A&F (which would remove the planning ahead and ritual requirements for the benefits).

- Capricious One could be useful (although not necessarily the answer to all our problems), especially since it has a Faith ability as well, which we'll discover once we get Divine Mystery (and A&F allow us to get both at the same time). It will allow us to stay around the trait cap with traits we want more easily, but the cap will still be there, and it won't actually help us get things we actually want... The fear but will still be problematic.

- The reason I'd rather give the cloak to Seski is purely from a story stand point. It was made with her in mind, it allows her easier access to our Realm, she's our eldest child and I think she'll turn 18 next turn. The fact that she's pass the threshold doesn't mean we should just stop caring about her...

Finally, my preferences regarding future traits (roughly in this order)
- Omen Seer and than Mystic (it will open an additional traits slot as well as a skill slot, which means the earlier the better).
- Divine Mystery and A&F.
- Maybe Capricious One.
- Finally upgrading the traits we have that are still low level (improve them without taking extra slots). That's as far as we can get with the correct trait cap.
- Shapeshifter, it's both useful and thematically.
- Maybe some other animal aspect and than Chimera, depends on the animal.
- Elemental abilities, Sun, Sea, Sky, etc. I love them, but the biggest problem is that they take tons of space.

Anyway, for now I'll abstain, maybe I'll change it later when I decide which plan I prefer.

[X] Abstain

(Who know, maybe some day I'll actually take the time and write a plan myself :p)
