Time of the Gods: Into the Amber Age

Question

Should we try experimenting with the Amber? Cause IIRC that's how Harzy got access to Gold.

Where is this stated?
@Powerofmind has been quoted as saying that our Holy Place requires a level of materials, skills, and manpower to construct a shrine that is simply not available to our civilization at this time. Here's the relevant quote:

but the locals do not have the knowledge, materials, or numbers necessary to place one there.
Shout out to @Ian Drash for quoting it two pages ago, making it considerably easier for me to find as well.

116 DE to spend... 40 on blessings: 10 Innovation, 10 Astrology, 10 navigation, 10 Perform(Trickery); 15 on Decree, 15 on Demand, 15 on Moonshine, 15 on Scry...

16 DE remaining... wait, want another Shrine! that's 10 DE, 6 remaining... pulling 6 DE out of Blessings for 3x Calm Seas.

And Despise Waves.

And now I've dropped the demand; swapped it for Shrine Improvement. 5 DE put back into blessings.

[X] Plan Hybrid
-[X] Bless Petitioner for Sacrifices - Expend some of your DE to empower those who come to your shrine or pray to you in exahange for more offerings. Current Skills that can be blessed: Astrology, Navigation, Perform (Trickery), Fishing, Leadership, Innovation.
--[X] Expend 10 DE on petitioners for Innovation
--[X] Expend 9 DE on petitioners for Perform (Trickery)
--[X] Expend 10 DE on petitioners for Astrology
-[X] Bless Petitioner for Growth - Expend some of your DE to empower those who come to your shrine or pray to you, granting them a bounty of life-giving things. Current Skills that can be blessed: Navigation, Fishing.
--[X] Expend 10 DE on petitioners for Navigation
-[X] Control Waters*** - You bend the waves to your command, directing them to rise or quiet at your leisure, to punish your enemies, or reward your friends. Costs: 4 DE
--[X] Calm Seas x3
-[X] Moonlight* - The moon shines bright this night, revealing things that hide in the dark. Can cause Weird, also empowers a number of relevant actions (Astrology, Perform (Trickery), Water-element Influence Actions, etc.). Costs: 15 DE
--[X] In your territory.

-[X] Study Stars - Study the skies and stars, seeking patterns that will tell you what was, what is, and what may yet be.
--[X] Scry Distant Places - View the places you have not seen, the places you cannot go. Costs: 15 DE

-[X] Issue Decree - You condense into a roiling mass just barely capable of overwhelming, booming speech in order to address those beneath you and issue a decree about the right way to live and how to worship you correctly. Costs: 15 DE. Maximum Decrees: 0/4
--[X] LOCKED: Decree that families who send one of their beautiful members to attend your shrines for a time will be spared your wrath. Costs: 15 DE
-[X] Despise Trait - You do not like how the mortals view you and your powers. Remind them what you truly represent and how you truly are! Costs: (Must reserve no destructive acts associated with the forgotten trait)
--[X] Despise Waves
-[X] Build a Shrine - Bully, threaten, persuade, or cajole mortals into building a shrine to your magnificence. Costs: 10 DE. Maximum shrines 1/2.
--[X] In our village
-[X] Improve a Shrine - Invest a great deal of materials and ornaments to make a shrine grander. Costs: 10 DE.
--[X] Dedicate 3 units unknown metal for progress.

I think this covers everything... not sure whether or not to throw in any Inspirations.

DE Spent: 116/116.
Ambrosia: 2/3
Legend: 17:65

Estimated income: 39 DE spent on blessings; expected return: .9x - 1.5x; 35 - 60 DE. Vehemence: ??? - varies with Moonshine, Weirdings, and Calms. Hoping for a VE of 2-3: 13 - 20 DE, which is also the range to pick up Shrine 3 or Influence 3. *crosses fingers*. Puts us at 48 - 80 DE return. I'm okay with this.

I sincerely doubt the dice will give us a nice, quiet turn; unless we're actively hoping for an active one, heh.

I missed the "i wont try not to screw you over" bit <.< >.> and in retrospect, the figurine demand, which is why i originally voted for it, is probably useless...i'm pretty sure @Powerofmind said it would take an almost impossible number of mundane decorations to up our shrine tier...
He did say so. Probably different if we actually HAD Art or Craft blessings and inspirations to produce stuff, or exotic materials, or preferably, both.
That just suggests that we need a special material, though? I.E. we could take that action to say "my slaves people! Come, take this magical armor of a long-forgotten people, and this condensed stone formed of your devotion to me, and bling the shit out of decorate the walls of my shrine until they are worthy of one such as I!"
Dedicating materials we can't replace is probably not a very effective way to use them unless we squeeze out a better modifier first.
Where is this stated?
Not relevant anymore, since @Powerofmind had clarified that we'd have no luck building a shrine at the Holy Place.

Still doesn't make putting a Wonder type shrine extension in Saiga's village desirable though. It's just used for booty calls at present.

[X] Plan Towards getting a body again

I consider it the least worst option. Kinda sad PoM's plan isn't pants-on-head crazy, though!

Oh god is this becoming an actual thing? Already got nearly 1 in 6 votes, and I wasn't even subtle about whether or not I would care about avoiding causing you trouble.

1. This is the same group who were willing to spite vote for "all DE into Blessings, do nothing else" for no reason other than being contrary.

2. If things went batshit, people would've shunted the blame onto you, meaning it was an easy way to get a "wild" turn that the major plan makers are unlikely to ever commit to.

3. The other current plans are efficient but boring as hell, to be frank.

Ah, I don't know. veekie's titled to get a body next turn, so I guess I'll vote for delayed possibility of children.
My plan doesn't attempt to get a body either and leaves us with the most DE
That statement was in reference to Shrine Attribute, though. :/

Edit: As that's what people were hoping to accomplish with the action in question at the time.

2nd Edit: There is, however, an action specifically directed at improving Shrine Tier now:
[] Improve a Shrine - Invest a great deal of materials and ornaments to make a shrine grander. Costs: 10 DE.
-[] Dedicate <X> materials for progress.

Not sure how it works, though.
Theoretically, we could invest the amber and copper...
Mostly that id had Scrying instead of a shitload of Blessings. I don't see Gaerig as someone, who can sit still long enough to spend the whole year doing nothing but doling out blessings and talking to people.
So if I added scry you might interested?
Eh, fine.
But if we're going to scry, we will do so productively!

We've been worried about accidentally HALPING our people with Moonshine. So let's experiment from a safe distance! And so lets do it to those guys over there.:D

Mostly by necessity.

We got here by having fun, now we're going to need to get back to where we can have fun again.
To be fair, the fun was not asked for. Nobody expected this much fun.

Now now don't be so morose.
Let's have big round of applause for @MrGazzer !
Thanks to him we can have an Avatar again. His omake lullaby netted us an extra Ambosia and since Omakes don't count for cap, we would the 4 ambrosia needed.

Personally for me getting to the point of creating new races to worship us, along with first and second magic are of the most interest and fun for me.

God to have you on board! What have you liked best so far?
What made you decide on Plan Hybrid?
The system (which I still need to study more) is probably what hooked me. So many quests are borderline freeform, and it's nice to find another that's mechanically interesting.

As for choosing Hybrid, it drew me because it gets us a Shrine in a location that shouldn't cause complications and enhances it, isn't written by the GM (who has openly stated he's messing with us through it), and boosts innovation, which might be useful if that little "fight" earlier is the precursor to a war.

It also didn't have much support yet or opposition yet, and voting for it seemed a good way to draw attention to it for consideration.

Yeah, I suggest you have a notebook handy because a lot of the information isn't stated on the front page and buried in pages of discussions not to mentioned changed from how it initially was!
Either way I'm glad you liked it and leave you with an obligatory 'vote Plan Yahweh Lite!' :D
@Pandemonious Ivy What do you think of my plan now? I think it's a little more exciting while also messing with our newly discovered neighbors.:p
