Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
Okay, I'm going to be a bummer for a minute here. I don't really want to, and this genuinely isn't a vote argument, but it should be stated.

For people wanting to do Winter's Crown because the arc coming arc includes Hanyi, don't get your hopes up. Chances are there won't be any meaningful relation between the art project and Hanyi. To date, FFS projects haven't. Oh, Hanyi's usually around, but there's no interplay or communication when it comes to the development of the art. So far, FFS has developed essentially wholly independent of Hanyi- it hasn't been an art where they swap insights and enhance each other's perspectives, etc.

I don't expect this reminder to change any votes, which again I'm not trying to do, but it'd feel bad to not raise the historical precedent when people are pointing at a motivation that's unlikely to come to fruition, in their voting.

I mean this one is specifically connects with and improved our lineage trait, which is a major connection to Hanyi and the reason that Jaromilla approached us in the first place. So if any project is gonna have a connection to Hanyi and synergize with that aspect of the culture arc it's gonna be this one. I love windthief and voted for boundaries last time, and would be voting for it again this turn if it was up against any other art, but I do like the connection here too much to not vote for Winter's crown.

I mean, go for it. Pursue that hope.

Just doesn't seem likely to me, based on past performance. Even the initial creation of the art, an action taken with Hanyi(required taking a combinauion of an art and social action, iirc), didn't manage it.

Though to be honest as a QM someone saying something like that would convince me to find a way to buck the precedent just to mix things up. :V

Make sure it's not too predictable what will happen.

Winter's Crown: What ends and what does not. You have grappled with power and what it means to hold it, what it means for it to be held over you. What does it mean to choose to end, what does it mean to stay your hand. Winter cares not, feels not, but though you wield it, you both care and feel. You're ice is both beauty and horror, deathly cold and the promise of a new day beyond it. But without understanding power and why you wield it, there can only be brittleness and self deception. Seek the Want, the black lightless darkness from which all else emanates, and understand yourself. Advances Winter's Heart by 1. +1 XP to Want and Power. +30 Physical Cultivation XP. Unlocks 1 project. (0/5)

This looks fun for two reasons. Firstly, the connection with Hanyi and an actual lineage increase (Polar Theocracy rep up, mayhaps?) while we're meeting with the White Sky. Secondly, it discusses Power and control right when we uncover Still Waters' Deepening identity and decide what to do with the Meng. Lots of juicy things there to connect with.

Also, cultivating Want during the cultivation section seems fitting to me. And, hopefully, it can start the interrogation of our Truth insight and fix it.
