[X] Boundaries Untrodden

I think we got enough stockpiled favor to wrangle the diplomatic angle one way or another, but if Still Waters Deeping doesn't resolve in a way that is both convenient and correct our ass will hurt.

I do like Boundaries Untrodden for how it probably builds off what we did last turn.

Our decisions were informed by interpreting what we knew of Still Waters Deeping. Our knowledge let us guess at their objectives and intercept the high value parasite.

Boundaries Untrodden calls for the same philosophy of action based on understanding, and it offers the tools for, uh, surviving getting in closer to further unravel the mysteries of our opponent. We really want a soft landing on the saboteur subplot if at all possible, so getting more insight, earlier is definitely something to shoot for.

On a philosophical level, I think the project also applies to the culture negotiations. We want to navigate a dangerous space of intersecting thorns, behind which is a prize we seek, and we don't want to get torn up too bad in the process. That means understanding that prickly vault and picking the right avenues of approach and retreat. Metaphors!

[X] Boundaries Untrodden

I think this one might work better because it is about understanding borders and boundaries, the place where two things meet and contradict. It's about understanding why they contradict, why they are separate.

Worryingly, it's also about crossing that divide even when you understand why, but that can easily be spun as a positive.

Taken in the context of just the spywork, the flavor for Boundaries Untrodden, understanding that which you violate, rings to me like LQ asking Still Waters Deeping,
"Why do you have me so much? What boundary of yours did I violate to make you so angy?"

The flavor for Winter's Crown, seek the Want, sounds like Ling Qi asking Still Waters Deeping, "What is your final goal? What do you want out of doing all this?"

Out of the two of these questions, the second one seems to be more actionable for preventing it from happening...

Though the first one would probably give better information on figuring out Who they are....

Still!

[X] Winter's Crown

I also want to know the things that Ling Qi wants.

I have a feeling Winter's Crown might work better in the shared settlement negotiation, but no real argument to justify it ;)

[X] Boundaries Untrodden

I'm very happy with either option.

Slightly leaning towards spycraft in BU but I can also see Winter's Heart having defensive implications in the liminal through understanding of self + recent SNR tech. Similarly, BU would resonate in the culture discussions since it's all about establishing arbitrary lines and we will want to transgress a couple of those.
