[] A tale of the Dreaming Way

I don't really care very much about political situations that don't have much application to the current one. They're vaguely interesting from a scholarly point of view, but getting more Dreaming stuff is always fun/interesting.

I could go either way. I worry that we are becoming much too focused in Dream and social related arts these days, and so would generally go for the "Conclaves and Kings", but at the same time who better to get more about the Dream from the Arch-Heretic of the Dreaming Way?

Ling Qis way involving Dreams will be her own.

What she and no one I could envision is in the Emerald Sea, is a King.

Who were they?

You know what?

I happen to agree with Uncle Skelly. On a number of points.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Fools and amateurs lie. The master forges the ore of truth into the alloy of narrative. Stories are the ties that bind men together. Stories are power.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Modern propaganda is predicated primarily on constructing narratives, and allowing others to fill in the blanks for themselves. With the narratives already constructed, there's no need to lie as others will lie or misunderstand for their own selfish reasons. They will ruin themselves for the sake of the narrative, and without sufficient self scrutiny and personal morality they will spin themselves out of control. I didn't connect this sort of idea to the Hui before, but thinking about it now I see the connection to effective propaganda and a self rationalization. It's easy to say "Those that falter and fail on this path of Narrative are ones that brought it upon themselves," without blaming the ones crafting the narratives.

Stories are power.

I like the idea of Ling Qi exploring the ore of truth and her ability to work it into the alloy of Narrative. Not only because it connects to Xuan Shi's works with Fiction, but because it's a vital necessity for our liege. We need someone that will work the ore into Narrative, who will make stories that resonate with the people, who will convince the province to side with Renxiang. I think the vote for "Conclave" may result in understanding how Kings were made from the Stories that put them in power. I think the Dreaming Way would also be an interesting vote.

I'm very interested in his use of the word Alloy. We focus on Boundaries, but Alloys are a sort of "Ship of Theseus" issue aren't they? When do the mixed elements of an alloy cease to have boundaries between them? Where is the border between a mixture of existing elements and the creation of something new?

BIG fan of Uncle Skelly. Very cool ArchHeretic. Can't wait to be heretical 10/10

[X] A tale of Conclaves and Kings

I'm more interested in Weilu history than I am in metaphysics at the moment.

Taken as a single thing, Conclaves and Kings feels most useful to us, but overall I think it's best for us to learn more about Huisheng, the Arch-Heretic of the Dreaming Way. Whatever benefits may be on the table now, we gain more by cultivating a positive long-term connection with our skeleton uncle, which starts with understanding them.

[X] A tale of the Dreaming Way

If the Dreaming Way led to the Weilu's downfall, and Elder Huisheng was the Arch-Heretic, then I want to hear his story about it. Even if none of those are true, this may be the only resource we have of ancient Weilu dream practices, and those guys really knew their stuff.

What was it like, before, in the court of the eternal tree?

Uncle Skelly's first storytelling advice is knowing your audience. So how will he tell a story of Conclaves and Kings to a child of a street he's never seen? A modernity he's never witnessed?

I'm fascinated to find out.
