I thought the debacle with JR was because XS was simping to Renxiang at the time and wanted to impress her by punishing someone who broke the rules?

Anyways, iirc, the issue with Luo here being too insistent while courting Quingling was because he wanted to use that to solve an issue his clan had with the Bao to get a political victory to distinguish himself to his family. It would make sense if the reason for him to act here is something similar and wants to get a place in the southern delegation as a chance to earn merit if it succeeds. Either that or he thought that XS was making a demostration to WC of some invention and he got curious about whether it was worth it to muscle in and try to get whatever deal XS was making with the Wang clan for the Luo instead.

I for one am very excited to be at the forefront of a Neo-Weilu movement. It sounds like a super interesting discussion. How do you transform traditions that have been debased and ruined by the Hui? I see some deep conversations coming up.

I am not sure that is the best idiom to apply. This is a cultivator story, I am sure that there is someone out there that can literally kill them with kindness.

Im voting this way both out of curiosity and to avoid confusing the issue with mixed signals.

We're at best ambivalent to the guy, and implying otherwise by extending him more than basic civility is just asking to make him misstep in a way we have to deal with.

These things are not mutually exclusive. Dude was slotting his interactions with girls he liked into storybook narratives in a way that made him misjudge their intentions toward him repeatedly.

The Luo are important to LQ/CRX's plans as both Weilu Moderates and Counts bordering the Wall. IIRC there is even a White Sky tribe that lives south of them. We could probably establish a working relationship with the clan without making nice here. However, I suspect this wont be the last "Young Master" LQ meets in her political functions and this sounds like a fun way to deal with him.

He let us flounder at our first social meet up (that he was the host of), has embarrassed himself pursuing Bao Qingling relentlessly up until recently, and Xuan Shi is meeting him for the first time presumably and already doesn't like him. All signs point to him being a dick.
