All things said I don't think Xuan Shi should get banned because he fan girled infront of a very reticent sword. I think he needs a little just untill he adjusts to the sword or atleast the sword adjusts to him. It is almost equal to a nerd approaching a fantsy heroine. Now when the mood is bright it is a fun story to be told at talk shows, but this heroine is still depressed from being canned and I don't think Xuan's fangirling will help any.

Honestly the nightmare spirit seems to have not done much damage to him? He's gotten friends to interact with and seems pretty self-confident.

Its not out of character for him to do that to reenact a favoritr scene isn't it?
And the Xuan are top tier in defense so he could be reasonably sure he can take it.

Sure, i bet he could take it, and it would not be out of character on several levels (either to re enact the scene, or to make sure nobody else gets a nightmare spirit attached to them).
Still incredibly funny though, especially when the nightmare spirits gets the "You have been played" realization.
Also on a more metal level with all of us getting so worried for him.
