Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
I like how GG is very surprised at how our relationship has advanced with CRX. He knows CRX well enough to know that her reactions to us indicate that we are much closer with her than anybody except for him. I think he's seeing that CRX doesn't only have two retainers but finally has two friends.

I'm leaning towards artwork and texts. It's what we're meant to be doing for Hidden, after all.

Not looking forward to seeing gross Hui art tho

Seems like a slightly unfair trade to me to have a partly used cyan stone for a treasure and the remains of another.

its like buying a storage unit in cash.
You might strike it big or it might be all Hui porn, meanwhile you are rooting in a dirty unventilated room posibly full of hostile document spirits for quite a bit

We're building our clan's treasure vault! Slowly but surely we are adding treasures to the vaults of Ling to be used by future clan members.

I was talking about the brush, but I'll be greedy and hope for the storage ring as well.

One heist at a time

Hmm, I'm leaning towards the second choice, Ling Qi is the Songseeker for the artworks, while Meng Dan is an experienced library spelunker for the texts.

On the other hand, we're just organizing the contents, so it would be easier to first sort out all the things that obviously aren't piles upon piles of paper.

It is, but remember that Xia Lin doesn't feel like she has a place in Cai's group yet. This feels like she is trying to generate some good will. Besides it's a brush, given who Xia Ren is and the likely direction she forced her clan into I doubt the Xia clan has many budding artists.

As much as I wish we could find a couple of 8fold pills I still think the raw intel should take precedence. Besides, we might get something relevant to our Hui Arts too...
Ah yes, the Ling Qi Face. Meizhen has one too, I expect.
And Su ling. And Qingge. And Xuelan. And ... pretty much anyone we interact with regularly. Pretty sure even Xin has one...

Yeah but... unfair on who's favour?

What is traded here is certain profit with a gamble... A cyan stone always ha value, but 2 damaged talisman of ambiguous path use may be much harder to take advantage of or even sell. It may be that even if one took them to sell, one would never find a buyer, because they are too niche and/or damaged. By contrast, the cyan stone is certain profit.

Now, I am just spitballing here, it could well be that we were done a favour, and that those things would sell for much more, but... value can be relative, and cyan stones are treasures on their own right, even cracked and broken ones.

I am unbelievable excited. This library is a huge find. Huge huge huge. Even if this library ends up being from a personal collection instead of the part of the one that was burned, it will still be a victory for librarians everywhere.

Ling Qi gazed in consternation at the scraps of green silk that materialized in Xia Lin's hands, it was still high quality and power ran through it, but it was definitely not a whole talisman anymore. Still, Ling Qi thought back to her ruined bedsheets and glanced down at her dress, perhaps…

Are we gooing to feed a broken Talisman to Dress-Chan?

reason being is we may find pills that can boost ours Cultivation.

"Is it actually dead?" Hanyi asked suspiciously as she peaked her head out from behind a fallen chunk of stone.

"It feels dead," Gui said suspiciously. His scales were stained with blue and black ink, glistening wetly in the faint light cast by the cooling magma.

"I felt it's dantian shatter," Xia Lin said, rising from the crouch she had landed in. One of the frosted bones at her feet shifted as it cracked. Everyone stiffened up.

Haha, I liked how everyone was paranoid about whether the guy was dead or not. A rattle of bones from a stiff breeze and they'd be ready to go.

"Indeed it did not," Ling Qi said dryly, materializing outside in a swirl of glittering shadow.

Ling Qi deciding not to walk around things and just appearing on the other side is one of my favourite trivial uses of her abilities.

"The contents of the ring you spoke of must be catalogued, while our mission is important, so is such an unprecedented find. Ling Qi, while you rest, I expect you to aid Meng Dan in this. Your spirit beast will suffice to carry the two of you while we move, I believe," Renxiang said, clasping her hands behind her back as she stepped past Ling Qi.

Seems like the trip is paying off already.

As far as the vote goes, going to vote for Ling Qi to take a look at the art and texts. Seems more interesting then just talisman and pills. Might be interesting things like the stories from the burning library.

And now we come face to face with the consequences of our actions, the dreaded specter of Bureaucracy and Accounting!

Kinda feels like this vote is reflecting our moon patrons. Hidden is obviously part of it, but will we otherwise steer closer to Dreaming focusing on art, or Grinning by chasing da shinies.
