Threads Of Destiny(Eastern Fantasy, Sequel to Forge of Destiny)

You know, I bet Cai Renxiang is going to be looking good after this coup of information gathering comes to light. Especially if there is anything relevant in the rooms of library material.

Also, nice to know that Storage Rings work on some level with the Liminal Realm, it makes it easier to envision an art to steal from them.

And, a final point, Meng Dan is already going to be pulling his weight on this Expedition! He'll have all this information from the Hui to collate and work through and we can help him with that. It'll be nice to uncover some secret information in the piles of papers, leaning into our Hidden Moon patron for this.

She hadn't noticed it at first, but her qi had continued to slowly dwindle away for awhile after the fight, the Hui's technique had clung to her like her own hoarfrost until it had weakened enough for Sixiang to cleanse.
Thats one subtle fuck you.
"Then you will remain with the group even after we reach the halfway point. "Xia Lin, you will take point until the baroness' energy has recovered, but remain within one kilometer of the group."
Renxiang: "Empirical experiment, do they get in more trouble together or alone?"

She supposed that made sense, so far as she knew storage techniques worked by pinching off a bubble of liminal space. "...I think we will need help organizing this."
Hm. So this is an indirect explanation for materials, and talismans above a certain realm threshold simply not being something transportable in bulk using storage rings. Because they'd naturally case a larger ripple in the liminal realm as the grade increases, and thus the space necessary to store them without damage increases, which requires a specialist just to do maintenance on the storage ring much less make one.

So it is just cheaper, and likely safer to transport goods in the waking world for deals between large clans.

"The contents of the ring you spoke of must be catalogued, while our mission is important, so is such an unprecedented find. Ling Qi, while you rest, I expect you to aid Meng Dan in this. Your spirit beast will suffice to carry the two of you while we move, I believe," Renxiang said, clasping her hands behind her back as she stepped past Ling Qi.

There it was, Ling Qi sighed, straightening up. She shot Gan Guangli a wan smile, and he shook his head chuckling.
Classic Renxiang punishment for success. Lol get rekt, Qi.

Eyyy moratorium over

[X] Searching out artwork and texts that are more than ink and paper.

The guy was an artist, not every foe we best is going to be one of those. If he had notes on his variant of BKSD, it could be quite a find.

Meng Dan and Ling Qi off to do fun research-looting, sequestered and Hidden away. The mere prospect has me Grinning ear to ear. And of course, it almost feels like I'm Dreaming.

Turn 11: Arc 4-1 Sins

*tugs collar*
Uh that's uh some arc title. Nothing to get nervous about I'm sure!
We're going to be dealing with a lot of Hui paperwork. I wouldn't be surprised if there was information on their efforts at keeping the Emerald Seas split and divided which could take any number of terrible acts in the dark. Assassinations, blackmail, briberies, coercion, betrayals. Useful for healing and mending, but just really terrible stuff to slog through.

I hope to keep the storage ring when it is time for the final loot divide. But wow, this is a huge find.

Yeah but... unfair on who's favour?

What is traded here is certain profit with a gamble... A cyan stone ALWAYS ha value, but 2 damaged talisman of ambiguous path use may be much harder to take advantage of or even sell. It may be that even if one took them to sell, one would never find a buyer, because they are too niche and/or damaged. By contrast, the cyan stone is certain profit.

Now, I am just spitballing here, it could well be that we were done a favour, and that those things would sell for much more, but... value can be relative, and cyan stones are treasures on their own right, even cracked and broken ones.
There's also the comparative value to consider.
Ling Qi literally has no use for the cyan tribe whereas Xia Lin can throw it up her army hierarchy, and hit some Cyan dude that can make use of it.
And the same is true in reverse, Xia Lin was no use of some material tissue scraps and a magic paint brush as the army has its own stores of standardized equipment, and crafters if something specific is needed.

I believe you meant:

"[...] that slightly pinched look she got when things go Ling Qi."

Makes me wish the Worm omakes had lasted until Ling Qi and Taylor meet...
