There is no emotion... (A Jedi Order Quest)

Mission Report 3947 BBY Q4
Mission Report 3947 BBY Q4

Mission 1 (Master Brianna, Master Juhani, and Knight Breda, 2 Padawans, The Core)

-Councilor Juhani-

The Czerka animals have tossed off whatever little restraint still held their hands. With the attack on Balmorra, they have flown the flag in truth-- thousands of Madndalorian mercenaries are headed our way. Even with the Republic's help, I dunno that we could beat them.

But there are alternatives to fighting.
--
Mission 2 (Knight Kador Shirot, Padawan Kozon Vahl, Padawan Sorda, the Colonies)
-Knight Kador-

Atton has been giving us what information he can about this Sith, but there's only so much he noticed at that point, and years have not been kind to his memory. If what he remembers is correct, she is not, fortunately, a true Sith Lord-- merely a jumped up assassin. But if we are to defeat our enemy, this Darth Kald, is not a real master of the Dark Side.

But that's a pretty big if.

There are ways to discover the truth, but it requires...focus. Clarity. To embed yourself into another's shoes, to think as they thought then, to head to the shout and trace the echo.

We are going where they trained Monsters like her.

We are going to the first academy of Revan.

We are going to Exegol.
--
Mission 3 (Grandmaster Bao-Dur, Master Bastila Shan, Padawan Qayon and Padawan Zez-Kyrido, The Mid-Rim)
-Grand-Master Bao-Dur-

They blew up my friend. They blew up a city.

Czerka has rallied, with its ally's victory over us. They hit when we weren't expecting, and believed that made them strong.

No.

It has made them the opportunistic beneficiaries of the half-bred daughter of a false Sith.

They think themselves invincible, but it is not so.

We will drive them from the sands! We will drive them from the suns! We will drive them into the dark-black pits of the deepest darkest hole of hell, never to return!

They are hiding, the vermin, but we will find them, and they will not escape again.
--
Mission 4 (Padawan Atris, The Outer Rim)
-Padawan Atris-

With Masters Mira and Visas missing, it has become my duty to maintain the watch over the Outer Rim. As those two seem to have discovered the cause of Czerka's attack, I will be doing what I should have done so long ago:

Protecting the innocent.

The Senator from Nar Dakaar, a formerly Hutt world which threw off its masters, has been threatened. There are five coming; but they are little threat, without their six.

Yet another of my mistakes, coming to stare me in the face.
--
Mission 1 (Master Brianna, Master Juhani, and Knight Breda, 2 Padawans, The Core)
-Councilor Juhani-

Canderous was surprised to see us, all of us. I expect he thought we had forgotten him, in favor of our Jedi business.

But it is not so.

He was intransigent, domineering, arrogant and insulting. He called me a witch, Brianna a fool, Breda a cripple, and our Padawans weaklings.

So then Ossin, Brianna's Padawan, punched him in the face.

That seems to have broken the ice, enough to convince him to help us.
--
Mission 2 (Knight Kador Shirot, Padawan Kozon Vahl, Padawan Sorda, the Colonies)
-Knight Shirot-

Exegol. It does not seem a world of such a sordid history should have such a beautiful visage to offer; the world is a forest paradise like none other, on a physical level.

But search slightly deeper, and one feels the roiling of the Force in this place. It is unknown what came to pass here, what sordid thing-- an echo is all that remains. It is where Revan trained his truest Assassins during and after the war, and why so many remained for the Triumvirate to claim.

And Atton...Atton was wrong.

Something happened to her, here. We felt it. Whatever it was before her reemergence onto the galactic stage, her clarity, her connection to the Dark Side, seems to have grown...it is...it is as if shattered her, and every moment since then has been her screaming.

But there is something odd, that I cannot tell, either...

(???)
--
Mission 3 (Grandmaster Bao-Dur, Master Bastila Shan, Padawan Qayon and Padawan Zez-Kyrido, The Mid-Rim)
-Grandmaster Bao-Dur-

The hunt continues. We have been paring down leads, hunting for any sources, anything, to find the perpetrators behind the destruction of Balmorra. The leader of the Czerka forces, the mercenaries that have brought so much pain, has moved them, and most of the rest of the Czerka leadership, to an unnamed world.

I will find. We will find it.

They are going to pay for the things they have done, all of them. They can't keep getting away with this.
--
Mission 4 (Padawan Atris, The Outer Rim)
-Padawan Atris-

They are coming. I feel them, the Handmaidens, lost and confused, and it is my fault. I failed them, I failed them all.

But I will not fail them again.

I will meet them tomorrow, unarmed. And right this old wrong.
--
Mission 1 (Master Brianna, Master Juhani, and Knight Breda, 2 Padawans, The Core)
-Councilor Juhani-

As I expected, Canderous' presence proved disorienting to the Mandalorians. He called a meeting on Dorna Cal, a small world, nearly unknown.

The leaders of the Mandalorians arrived. They fought, they argued, the three of them who lead this force.

As they did, a dominant figure emerged. Kala Fett, a Bounty Hunter of some renown. Dangerous, he killed many Jedi in the service of Malak.

Canderous waited, letting them speak.

And when Kala had proven himself the best, Canderous shot him in the head. That seemed to break them to his will, and so Canderous is returning to Dxun, to Mandalore, with a few thousand new warriors and a handful of old ships. A peaceful resolution, all told, though in truth I do fear what may come to pass if the Mandalorians return to the Old Ways.

-Grand-Master Bao-Dur-
[Audio Recorded in the Canto Bight Atrium]

???:"- But Lord Kald promised us a handsome reward!"

Bao Dur: "You don't think I'm handsome?"

[Thuds of bodies on the ground]

Zez Kyrido: "You stunned them all?"

Bao Dur: "These animals are going to jail, Zez. For a very long time. But I'm no murderer."

Negotiation 3947 BBY
Negotiations 3947

Things are...tense. A world was struck with lethal intent, something as terrible as you can imagine, like a nightmare born out of the fury of the Mandalorian Wars.

Revan's Sith have not had the good damn decency to die, yet, and here you still are, struggling.

But as you meet with the Supreme Chancellor you think there may just be a chance you aren't all doomed yet:

-95 PP Available

  • Reclaim Coruscant Temple (225 PP)
  • Recruitment Drive-- Recruit 2d5 Initiates (30 PP)
  • Claim Tojora (150 PP)
  • Request Republic aid expanding Dantooine. (20 PP)
  • Send a Jedi with a Republic archeological expedition(15 PP)
  • Expand Telos Academy with Republic help. (10 PP)
  • Request a Republic Colonization Ship, for use in establishing Enclaves (40 PP)
  • Reestablish Jedi Scoutmaster (Head of recruitment) (50 PP)
  • Allow the Republic to interrogate Atton (+40 PP)
  • Allow the Republic to interrogate Breda (+50 PP)
  • Back the Balmorran Act (+30 PP If successful, -30 If Failure)

Right, I'm back, sorry about that, Finals sucked but I finally graduated and I'm free for the first time in four years.

Starting us off light with some basic negotiations

[X] Plan: Efficient Approach
-Send a Jedi with a Republic archeological expedition(15 PP)
-Allow the Republic to interrogate Atton (+40 PP)
-Back the Balmorran Act (+30 PP If successful, -30 If Failure)
--
Send a Jedi with a Republic archeological expedition

Gayel Ducte is sent with the Republic Expedition to the world of Hanwat, a waterlogged, swampy world of vast cities, once a fastness against the Legions of Lettow, holding many tombs where Jedi were slain battling those first, most terrible schismatics. He works tirelessly to move through flooded tombs pulling artifacts, taking sensor scans, and other such things. In particular he claims a new lightsaber crystal for himself.
(Reward: +25 Knowledge, experience)
--
Allow the Republic to interrogate Atton

Atton proves to be an easy font of information for the interrogator, formerly a general whom he once served under. Given the broader view under which Cassandra works and the information which Atton can provide, they manage to map out strategies, plans, ideas to hunt down the animals which have attacked you. It hurts him, to go so deep into his past: but, perhaps, he needed to: he needed to explain what happened to someone, who is not a Jedi, who has no view of his soul, and to see whether the blood on his hands can, indeed, be cleaned.

Since the Military Police she thought you did not notice do not arrest him, you take it as a yes.
--
Back the Balmorran Act

You speak to the Ithorians, who know you you well; to the Senators of Telos, who have themselves lead their world back to prosperity. Soon enough the credits which the New Balmorran Economy will need to be built upon flow to their places, from all parts of the Republic.

Except for the Core, which is not eager to be facing another economic competitor. In the end, though, the Balmorran Act passes by a comfortable 3/4ths majority. When Balmorra is rebuilt, it will be much more than simply a weapon manufactory world. It will be a place of great riches, great wealth: and it starts with the government buying defunct factories, to put them back to work. An echo, spreading outward to other, still damaged worlds.

(Reward: +30 PP)

Consolidated Year in Summary and Deployent
Sitting in your chambers, you regard the holoterminal. Reports of what has come to pass in the past year fly on the screen, tabulating what happened, exactly, and what position you all are in.

-150 PP
-56 Knowledge
-93 Engagement+25 Engagement->118 Engagement
-Old Friends Complete
-Broad Applications Complete
-Fighting Basics Complete
-Discovered the Ring

Further, though, now you need to decide how the Order shall be deployed next year:

Available Jedi:
Grandmaster Bao Dur
Councilor Brianna
Councilor Bastila Shan
Councilor Juhani
8
Padawans
1 Jedi Sentinel
1 Jedi Guardian
1 Atris (V4)

Assign Jedi to these Patrol Routes:

[] The Core: To be honest, this is likely the safest part of the Galaxy. You'd be surprised if anything more threatening than a few gangsters show up here anytime soon, and not very threatening ones either. Still, whatever does happen here, the entire galaxy knows about it, so if you just want to fly the flag, so to speak, this would be a good place for it.
([] Assign Jedi to patrol, needs 4 Vigilance)

[] The Mid-Rim: Wealthier than the Outer Rim, but without the commiserate military force, a surprising amount of Jedi patrols have always been focused here, being pirate bait and all. This is likely where combat, if it takes place, will take place. Sending some real muscle out here would be a wise plan.
([] Assign Jedi to patrol, needs 6 Vigilance)

[] The Outer Rim: A sparsely populated collection of agri worlds, you don't see too much trouble coming here, if it weren't for the Mandalorians. On the other hand, this is likely to be where the majority of your apprentices come from for the time being, so perhaps those more in tune with the Force would be a wise plan.
([] Assign Jedi to patrol, needs 2 Vigilance)

[] The Colonies: A wealthy, industrialized part of the Mid-Rim, they are a usually safe area, not often requiring much work. Though the current war may change that...
([] Assign Jedi to Patrol, needs 1 Vigilance)

Sorry I have been so spotty lately, last month sucked and it's looking like this month is going to suck too.

But, I suppose that's life and it's time for me to cowboy up.

Moratorium for one hour.

I'll have Atris' more detailed stats up later, but suffice to say as a former Councilor, they're beefy.

Getting back into the swing of mission reports ought to help.

Mission Report 3946 BBY Q1
Mission Report 3946 BBY Q1

The cantina is dark, full of smoke and thunder. The smell of cheap tobacco and cheaper whiskey stains the floors, the ceilings, the tables and the chairs. There are only a few seats, but enough for the clientele.

Humans, most of them with military regulation haircuts, dominate the place. Sith military haircuts.

Not, historically, a great sign for an alien.

Say... a chiss.

With no visible weapon. Or armor.

And a big Republic starbird sewn onto the right shoulder of his blue jacket.

"Well, well, well, what have we here?" A huge man, meat and muscle, gets up from the bar as Kazon enters and glares him down.

Kazon walks towards him.

"You Trada Blue-blast?"

"Yeah. Who wants to know?"

"A Jedi." A moment later, a green lightsaber bursts to life; and pandemonium ensues.

Mission 1 (Knight Kador Shirot, Padawan Sorda, The Core)
-Padawan Sorda-

My first test! Master Kador wants me to help clean out some local cantinas with local law enforcement while he is busy with some sort of droid mumbo-jumbo.

Our first target is the Blaster Dragon Cantina on the lowest level of Coruscant. A worse hive of scum and villainy I've never seen; but it will be done.
--
Mission 2 (Knight Breda Sunguard, Padawan Atris, Master Juhani, 1 Padawan)
-Knight Breda-

You'd really think hiding a goddamn warship would be harder, right? Like, they aren't exactly the smallest, subtlest things, especially not the Sith ones. But surprise, surprise, this jumped up assassin can pull some kind of bullshit.

Don't get me wrong, I think we can take her in a straight fight; she's strong, but not that strong.

No, the bigger issue is her constant running like a child.

But she has soldiers, who she needs to feed; and a ship she needs to fuel. And it just so happens, I know exactly where the Sith do that.
--
Mission 3 (Bao-Dur, Bastila, 3 Padawans)
-Grandmaster Bao-Dur-

We've received an anonymous report detailing a supposed Czerka meeting site.

I realize it's probably a trap, but in my experience, the best ways to deal with those are to set them off.

Besides, I'd really hope five Jedi could take a few dozen mercenaries.
--
Mission 4 (Brianna and Ossin, Colonies)

-Padawan Ossin-

After I knocked him out, Mandalore has proven more amenable to helping me.

And I do mean me. Since I was the one to knock him out, I am the one he is working with. Seems sort of bass ackwards to me but then, I'm no Mandalorian.

The mission, in any case, is simple. We're trying to get an at-least neutral relationship with the Mandalorians; but they are proving less than amenable, even after I broke the ice.

After all, they are a fractured bunch; impressing one is far from impressing all of them.
--
Mission 1 (Knight Kador Shirot, Padawan Sorda, The Core)

For such a supposedly high-and-mighty species, they were sort of paper Wampas.

Yeah, it was about as easy-

[Blaster Bolt whizzes by reporter]

-GAH! What the hell?

[LEO 1] "Kid, we got company! Get out here with that glowstick, wouldja?"

Uh, yeah I'll be back...

For the Republic!
--
Mission 2 (Knight Breda Sunguard, Padawan Atris, Master Juhani, 1 Padawan)

So. Good news bad news time.

Good news: I beat the Sith here!

Bad news: A crimelord, a Zeltron called Lorelai, has set up shop on the remnants of the base. She's bad news, with the death mark in a dozen stems and enough goons to kill all of us.

A stealthier approach is required, I think. And I might just have the answer. See, she was attached once upon a time...
--
Mission 3 (Bao-Dur, Bastila, 3 Padawans)
-Padawan Zez-
We were better than the mercenaries.

We were less than better than the resurrected spirit of King Adas. In point of fact, he beat the shit out of us. Bastila and the others are currently stuck in the brig while Adas, possessing Master Bao-Dur's body, has set to work claiming this system; and, calling that Sith witch here.

Meanwhile, I'm stuck with a supply closet.

But...I think I can come up with something.

It is a mining supply closet, after all.
--
Mission 4 (Brianna and Ossin, Colonies)
-Padawan Ossin-

Will no one rid me of this turbulent princeling?

Canderous' chosen successor has proven obnoxious at best in dealing with me, constantly interrupting my meditations, asking to spar. He is...beautiful; but arrogant at the best of times, ever-wrathful always; a pleasant exterior belies a bellicose interior.

Further, Master Brianna implies...improper things.

I think he wants to strangle me, not romance me.
--
Mission 1 (Knight Kador Shirot, Padawan Sorda, The Core)

Teach me to run my mouth, I took a blaster bolt to the eye!

But we won.

As I right this, they are fitting me for the sensor patch.

Ah well, scars are dashing anyway, aren't they?
(-5% Czerka, +10 PP)
--
Mission 2 (Knight Breda Sunguard, Padawan Atris, Master Juhani, 1 Padawan)
We delivered to Lorelai her missing Beau, all wrapped up in bows and everything. I think they will be quite happy together; at least, once he is done with all the therapy after years serving as a Czerka slave.

We took great delight in burning this stockpile to the ground; but only after we stole back quite a few texts they had looted from various undefended Jedi temples and enclaves.
(+10 Knowledge, Damage Sith logistics, help pin down her location)
--
Mission 3 (Bao-Dur, Bastila, 3 Padawans)

My master knows all of my moves with a lightsaber.

So King Adas does, as well.

So I went with something unorthodox: I changed my saber. The power now channels through three ports, the main blade being longer and hotter.

It has been like relearning my velocities; but, it worked. It changed my style enough that, combined with the unfamiliarity of the Old Sith in using a Zabrak's body, he quite simply lost.

But he managed to ruin my favorite jacket before he did.

Jackass.

Bao-Dur is sleeping it off, while the Padawans are helping keep guard over the prisoners, who were less than thrilled to fight after they saw me toss around an ancient Sith with the Force. Criminals are a supersticious and cowardly lot, I suppose...
(+10 PP, -10% Czerka, Zez-Kyrido is now a Jedi Consular)
--
Mission 4 (Brianna and Ossin, Colonies)
-Padawan Ossin-
[Rustle of sheets, quiet voice]

I have been wrong before.

Well I wasn't wrong, I suppose; he did want to spar.

It just wasn't all he wanted.

We should have no problems securing the aid of the Mandalorians.
(+10 PP, bonus to Mandalorian relations)

Sorry I disappeared, things have been bad for the past month.

Mission Report 3946 BBY Q2
Mission 1 (Knight Kador Shirot, Padawan Sorda, The Core)
-Knight Kador-

I found what I was looking for, Master: a shipyard manifest.

Let me explain:

Czerka had a few fighter factories before this war began, but the sort of large scale, capital-ship yards required to actually go toe-to-toe with the Republic navy were essentially stripped from it after Revan killed Malak and ended the war. Any capital ship production they were involved since then was them partnering with loyal companies. But, they have managed to throw a few piece-of-junk capitals at the Republic. Even Czerka could hardly have just tossed these in the closet then pulled them out when they needed them.

As I expected the data I found showed payments to certain criminal elements (The Hutts, I'm talking about the Hutts) to redress this imbalance.

What I did not expect was that they did not simply buy ships, but shipyards themselves. But where was unknown to me.

Meaning I need to go have a chat with a Hutt.

Always a fun time.
--
Mission 2 (Knight Breda Sunguard, Padawan Atris, Master Juhani, 1 Padawan, Mid-Rim)
-Master Juhani-

We have the Sith warship's likeliest refuel position figured out after destroying the resource depot. So the good news is, we have her pinned down to one ship, heading to places we know, on a course we can follow.

The bad news, of course, is that there is no chance in hell of us destroying that warship by ourselves. Outnumbered, out powered, and out of our minds to try; maybe if the Sith wasn't on it with her apprentices, but she'd feel all of us if we tried something as fancy as sneaking on and blowing the reactor to bits.

No. If we want to to do this, we need the Republic's help.

Mission 3 (Bao-Dur, Bastila, 3 Padawans, Outer Rim)
-Grandmaster Bao-Dur-

I can feel him, beating in my head. Screaming, rioting, raging, like a bull pulling against his plow; he wants to be free. It feels like the war again, a fury that will not die; he seeks to claim my body. My mind. My soul.

But I will not let him. I will join the Force before I let that happen.

Fortunately, Bastila has informed me of old Jedi legends that speak of a place to remove him from me. On Ossus.

It will require efforts; but I believe I can undo what has been done.

Mission 4 (Brianna and Ossin, Colonies)
-Master Brianna-

Traveling with the Mandalorians, we have heard reports that a small world, Tor Kanar, is under attack by a Czerka detachment. Time to see if time has dulled Canderous' skill in battle.
--
Mission 1 (Knight Kador Shirot, Padawan Sorda, The Core)
-Knight Kador-

Unfortunately, I am being stonewalled by the Hutts. They are few in number, here in the Core; and so loathe, more than usual, the idea of giving up one of their own.

The only contact I have made thus far is Groda the Hutt, an outcast among his people who offers the information in return for safety. I can scarcely imagine how vile he is, if he is, in truth, loathed by the hutts.
--
Mission 2 (Knight Breda Sunguard, Padawan Atris, Master Juhani, 1 Padawan)
-Master Juhani-

This resource depot consists of two parts, one for starships and one for groundforces. Admiral Onasi has, as always, been of great help to us; he has offered us the aid of his Third Fleet, consisting of more than enough heavy metal to have a tete-a-tete with the Sith.

The larger problem is the ground force. If the Sith are allowed to to take control of it, they will be capable of waging a guerilla war here, on Kalapoli, home of a billion people. Clearly, this is not acceptable.

But the higher brass of the Republic has proven less than amenable to listening to a Sith, a Jedi, and a few traitors. We will need to convince them, and only through effort can we do that.
--
Mission 3 (Bao-Dur, Bastila, 3 Padawans)
-Grandmaster Bao-Dur-

We have landed on the surface of Ossus. Radiation readings are surprisingly down from what they should be, given the relative recentness of the Nova that purged the planet; it is I suppose a side-effect of being caused by Sith Alchemy, rather than a natural phenomena. The area I am looking for should inside the ruined temple, deep, deep in the hidden places, where even a star's death could not be felt.

But there's something else as well; something I can feel, just on the tip of my tongue; but King Adas has proven less than amenable to shutting the hell up and letting me think.

Victory or the Force.

No other options.
--
Mission 4 (Brianna and Ossin, Colonies)
-Master Brianna-

We have arrived in system, a Mandalorian fleet. The Czerka raiders fled on our arrival for reasons I can only guess at; however, I am more distracted by sensor readings indicating-

What was that?
--
Mission 1 (Knight Kador Shirot, Padawan Sorda, The Core)
-Knight Kador-

Well that's egg on my face! It seems I had entirely misunderstood why the other Hutts so loathed Groda; he is better than they are, not worse. A member of a small, nearly extinct culture from before the fall of the Hutt Empire proper, they were what might be understood as the Mercantile Clans; still profit focused, yes, but certainly not as vile and slimy as the crime lords that now dominate Hutt Space. Honest businessmen in truth, instead of as a cheap euphemism. The hutts constantly seek to wipe them out, hoping to ensure they have no competition, and our own meeting was no different; the Hutts sent at least four Trandoshan hunter teams to kill myself, my Padawan, and Groda.

You can guess how that went for them, considering I am writing this report.

Mission 3 (Bao-Dur, Bastila, 3 Padawans)
-Grandmaster Bao-Dur-

I went into the ruined Temple.

I journeyed deep, deep into its layers, where the dark never fell. I was assailed by memories...visions...both, of the Mass Shadow Generator. Of the battle of Telos, when HK and I destroyed his "children." Of a thousand moments, and a thousand regrets.

I saw the general.

Finally I entered an oasis of sorts, a small archive filled with the genetic records of every species to ever live on Ossus, maintained by the Jedi, as well as a meditation chamber sealed away the planet by a massive rock.

I entered; and meditated.

I journeyed to the very depths of my mind, and cast Adas into the fire where there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth. But he dealt me a grievous blow, and I thought I would not wake.

But I was mistaken.

When I came to a dark skinned human was attending to me, binding up my wounds; the Force was flowing through me and him, and I felt connected as I never had been before.

It seems then, that not everything died on Ossus. He calls himself; or perhaps his people; the Ysanna.

Research Turn Q2 BBY 3946
Heading to the center of the Dantooine Enclave, you sit, surrounded by a number of Initiates, as you give them orders. You've managed to rebuild, reclaim, and relearn much knowledge; but a plethora is still lost to you at the time.

Fortunately, a little less, now...

On a different note, there are Holocrons you still need to examine:

(72/5=14 Points of Research to spend)

Tier 1

Training Doctrines- The methods by which you train new Jedi-- how and to what purpose. (Mutually exclusive)
Many Students, One Teacher (0/5)- There aren't enough of you for you to teach only one student each. For the moment, at least, you need to be training multiples. (Bonus to recruitment Quantity)

Infrastructure- Recruitment, lost or abandoned Temple Worlds such as Ossus or Jedha, and other miscellany representing your Order's most important resources.
Ossus (12/15)- Examine the world of Ossus, determine if it is now safe for habitation, and reclaim the Temple. (Open Ossus to Expansion)

Tier 2

Combat- The Sith, the true Sith, are waiting for you out in the dark. It will require battle to save the galaxy from their evil.
Force Combat II (0/10)- While the Dark Side is a more combative thing, a solid base in telekinesis and other universal applications can allow you to do battle with less trained Dark Siders wielding only the Force. (May apply Wisdom bonus in combat against Dark Acolytes)
Armored Warfare (0/10)- You have a few suits of the heavier Jal Shey and Zeison Sha armor that do not overly restrict Jedi from drawing on the Force-- perhaps studying them will allow you to make your own? (+1 Vitality from improved defense)

Tier 3

One Student, One Teacher (Tier 3)
Personal Attention: A disturbing number of students fell to the Dark Side because they were precocious enough to advance, but did not have the personal attention of their often overworked teachers. Helping break that habit will be useful. (+1 Wisdom) (0/20)
Back Roads: Often what keeps Jedi from reacting to crises is not being near enough. Having your masters pass on the secret, unknown hyperspace routes, reststops, and shortcuts to your Padawans; and for that matter, among yourselves, will help. (+1 Vigilance) (0/20)
Let's Just Be Friends: The Jedi are sworn to the Republic; but you are not sworn to be its butchers. Make sure that is very clear to your students . (-1 Detachement for not getting involved in Republic's Wars) (0/20)
Masters' Trial: Currently, gaining the title of Master is a difficult task; reliant on either training a student to knighthood or a thousand other vagaries. Having a simple trial should help simplify the matter. (Difficulty Check for gaining title of Master reduced by 1)(0/20)

In addition, you may work on one Holocron:
-Holocron of Arca Jeth (2/3)
-Holocron of Arren Kae
-Holocron of Karn Degarr
-Holocron of Homonix Rectonia
-Holocron of Vodo-Siosk Baas
-Holocron of Nomi Sunrider
-Holocron of Odan-Urr
-Holocron of Sar Agorn
-Holocron of the Unknown Jedi

-
Vote will be open in Four Hours

-Ossus (12/15) (3 points)
-Armored Warfare (0/10) (10 points)
-Personal Attention (0/20) (1 point)
-Holocron of Arca Jeth (2/3)

You are Mical, the Disciple, and from beyond the grave one of the greatest Jedi to ever live speaks to you through his holocron. You recieve the last of his knowledge; methods to avoid falls to the Dark Side, his philosophical musings, and more.

(+60 Knowledge, +10 Personal Attention, +5 Force Combat II, +5 to Infrastructure Doctrine once chosen)

And you can barely listen to that as Mira and her group speak to you, telling you all that has transpired. The Ring, the massive construction that Czerka found, is essentially a giant hyperspace cannon, crafted by unknown hands.

Its purpose, they now know, is to transport ships far; and it does do so. All the way to the opposite side of the galaxy in fact, deep, deep into the Unknown Regions. Where Czerka found the Unified Countries of Azil, a people of less advanced technology; they had not even designed shields by the time Czerka made first contact. The Board of Directors wanted to use the advanced technologies at their disposal as well as Sith surplus to conquer, exploit, and colonize that people.

Resistance however was fierce, led by the OWSC, or One World Star Corp. Aided by their supersoldiers, the Companions, they fought with a bloody, grim-minded determination against the invaders, striking terrible and true blows.

And of course, at home, the Republic investigated. Czerka tried to assassinate these investigators to scare them off the trail, but by then the Jedi had returned; and so...this. She returned to warn the Republic, to tell them what had happened.

A more full description is being transcribed as you speak, but that is the basic story so far.

On a different note, a number of recruits have arrived; as well, Zez has been properly initiated as a Jedi Consular by Grandmaster Bao-Dur in the field, and a few other of the Padawans have also been moved on, as well as themselves taking on Padawans, namely that class of potentiates you recruited after Brianna's special sessions with Arren Kae's Holocron.

I'm gonna get the front page up to date soonish, so next update might be a while.

As an aside, I sort of feel like I forgot something, and it might be important, so if you see anything...like, tell me, I guess?

Mission Report 3946 BBY Q3
Mission 1 (Knight Kador Shirot, Padawan Sorda, The Core)
-Knight Kador-
We have the Shipyard manifest; now we just need to actually deal with the yards themselves.

We're not capturing them, the risk really isn't worth it. No...we're destroying them.

Once we find some fighters to take them out, anyway. But I think I know a guy, or two.

Mission 2 (Knight Breda Sunguard, Padawan Atris, Master Juhani, 1 Padawan, Mid-Rim)
-Knight Breda-

There are reports coming in from around the Mid-Rim of the Sith Vessel trying to attack trade convoys and going pirate; heading straight here, to resupply.

How fortunate we all are then, that we are ready.

Mission 3 (Bao-Dur, Bastila, 3 Padawans, Outer Rim)
-Grandmaster Bao-Dur-
The Ysanna have proven fascinating. The descendants of those Jedi who fled beneath the mountains, they are universally Force Sensitive; a result, perhaps, of the Sith Alchemy involved in the nova's creation? Or of being, well, universally descended from Jedi? That sort of metaphysical weight is hard to ignore.

They would like to reconnect with us. I am currently attempting to negotiate; and reopen communications with Dantooine. They say there is a small transmitter that survived the Nova; I believe I can repair it.

Mission 4 (Brianna and Ossin, Colonies)
-Knight Ossin-

The Ring is currently dominated by Czerka forces; their larger ships.

Fortunately, I happen to have a fleet.

[Mandalorian Accented Voice] "You have a fleet?"

Oh for the love of-

There is a friendly fleet in the area. We are going to move to take the Ring and the orbitals, and finally end this destructive conflict.

Captain Ahjers can get me a face to face meeting with General Donores, the head of the Star Fighter Corps. in the sector. After that though, it's all up to me.

May the Force, be with us.

Mindefields are set in every possible attack vector. Fortified pillboxes stand vigilant over every possible landing zone, while trenches scar the land. Three Hammerheads and complements wait for war, as down below a whole Corps of soldiers waits for revenge.

This is not the first time Kalapoli has faced down a Sith attack; it will not be the last.

Meanwhile, we Jedi take up position, waiting for the end, one way or another.

It has been...nice. To have silent thoughts, for once. This place, it breeds peace.

As I walk through valleys that once homed thousands, as I see the ashes of world burned in solar fire, I am forced to consider whether repairing it, or leaving it as a monument would be the more ethical action.

Czerka fighters swarm as thick as stars around what I can only call Battleships; corporate built, so no doubt corners have been cut, but they are the same size as a Derriphan class. Three of them form a U, presenting turrets and broadsides to our force.

And we do have a force: old Terochs and Shaadlars, around a handful of Q-Carriers, both old.

It's gonna be a hell of a show for anybody watching, I can tell you that much.

Master Brianna will be preforming Battle Meditation; I will be on one of the fighters.

If I die, tell Jerron he doesn't get my lightsaber, will you?

I've done it! The General is a jackass, bluntly telling me he thought the Galaxy was better off when we Force users were all dead; but in the end I persuaded to dispatch half the squadrons in the sector with me on a mission to blow that shipyard to hell.

Now to see it done.

Good news, then bad news.

We won.

Up above, the Republic's fleet engaged with the Warship and her fighters, dozens of the smaller vessels tossed aside as minesweepers in the most suicidal fashion. Even from here I could feel the Sith's presence; it was palpable, a dark, probing thing that attempted to shatter my resolve like so much glass. With effort we Jedi managed to ward it off; if we hadn't been here, though...

As that was happening, Sith troopships disgorged from the Vessel, carrying thousands of troopers, even as AA guns set up by general Yro cut through them like the scythe through the field. They just kept coming, even as hundreds died; until finally they reached landing zones.

Pillboxes, trenches, and hidden firing position in the trees spat death, as minefields herded them.

They just kept coming.

Bodies fell so thick they could be used as cover.

They just kept coming.

The first defensive line was broken under a tidal wave of broken meat and spilled blood, as Republic forces withdrew.

And then we entered the field.

Atris was...Atris proved she has not forgotten her Echani heritage. She dispatched at least five of the assassins, one without even using her lightsaber. Juhani was only a little less so, managing to toss a grenade into one of their tanks after slicing open a crew compartment with her lightsaber.

In comparison I did little, only helping aim artillery where it would be most effective, accompanied by my Padawan.

We were the Force's instruments; they could not break us, not for love nor money.

In the skies above, Admiral Onasi's men managed to tear the thing, destroying the warship.

But that is where the bad news comes into play.

We detected a small ship jumping into Hyperspace, headed for the Outer Rim.

Headed for Dantooine.

Evacuate the Padawans, ready the defenses; Darth Axa is coming.

I've done it. The transmitter is repaired; further, and quite helpfully, it is hardwired to the Dantooine Praxeum.

The Ysanna have rejoined the galactic community; and Ossus is open once more.

We have won. The Ring is ours, for whatever that is worth; the Mandalorians fought like Lions.

Ossin survived as well. Currently he and the Mandalorian are carrying on as...well, how do you expect a Mandalorian to carry on after a fight, really?

Now the Republic only just needs to dispatch some forces through the Ring itself, and perhaps we can get to the work of rebuilding.

Of preparing.

Dantooine Attack
You are Pal.

Up until two or so years ago, you were a beggar on Nar Shaddaa, one of infinite bits of filth trapped in that cesspit. With only just a family secret and a handful of credits.

Now you are staring down some really pale, stringy-haired witch, all covered in black robes. There is nothing in her. Only the black ice of hate, and of rage, a slimy, miasmatic mist that covers her heart, her soul. Whatever she once was is lost, all covered up under her rage.

Even from a thousand feet away you can feel it, a dark presence; you'd hate to imagine what the Council and the knights must be feeling.

Mira, Visas, they're both recovering in the medbays. The Republic soldiers, they're guiding initiates to the safe rooms, along with Padawans.

And you can already tell, nobody is going to be ready in time.

Or at least, you're pretty sure. The plans were surprisingly complex, really.

Nobody on Nar Shadda would have been ready with so little time, anyway. Especially not with the thick rain that falls down like a thousand little knives.

And so you enter your current situation. Looking at the last of the Sith through the scope of a blaster, emptying your breathing, staring her down.

One heartbeat.

Two heartbeats.

Three.

You fire, and a hunting bolt bursts into red life.

It streaks through the air like lightning, zooming, unstoppably, towards a grim finale.

A moment later your senses scream and you roll away, only for the read bolt to slam where the dirt had been, lighting the grass on fire and leaving a smell of ozone.

You move and snap shots in her general direction as you do, even as she moves faster than any human has any right to. She chews through the distance like a starship, coming closer and closer, thick black robes falling all around, molding her into the shadows. It makes hitting her near impossible.

Not that there was ever much chance of that anyway; even the stuff on the right course gets blasted away with the Force, sent whizzing into the ground, or screaming towards you, or something else stupid like.

As she gets closer she varies up her attacks; distantly it occurs to you the only reason she's doing this is so she can toy with her prey. Feeling you die might do them harm.

A rock the size and general shape of a bantha slams down near you. An airspeeder left as the people of Khoonda fled goes sailing overhead, misses you; but the explosion knocks you to the ground.

By the time the world stops being just a smear of light and color and sound, she is standing over you.

Her red lightsaber is lit, high over her head.

You close your eyes.

You hear the hum, and wait for a hot death.

You wait.

And you wait.

And you wait some more.

Finally deciding if you haven't died yet, you probably won't die in the immediate future, you open your eyes.

There is a purple lightsaber, grasped in a single hand, that stops her blade.

You follow it up, only to see Atton, standing, whole once more, all four limbs attached.

"Master Rand."

"Allaxa."

"Come to gloat?"

"You're not worth it."

And with that the two enter battle, their lightsabers moving as extensions of themselves. Atton moves like a flowing river, attacks constantly flowing from one, to the other, to the last, until the cycle begins again, all smooth flourish. Haxa by contrast is like a staccato rhythm of blaster bolts, attacking from a thousand directions at once.

Attton draws first blood, feints and manages to open a nasty cut from just under her nose to her jaw. She screams and with a mighty, thunderous revenge chops into his stolen trooper's uniform, shattering his armor like so much glass.

He steps back, bare chest exposed (And you learning some thing about yourself). "What's a matter, no lightning? You sure didn't mind using it on me the first time you caught me trying to desert!"

"I should have used more!" Sickly bolts of blue energy begin to flow up and down her arms, sending bolts of pure hate arcing into the ground, killing yet more grass. Force, she is an ecological disaster zone, isn't she?

A fork of energy strikes out, hunting for his heart. Ancient Sith sorceries, horrendous magics, and contemptible powers that could smite down a starship lash out.

He catches it in one hand, brings it close, and dissipates it, letting the fury flow back into the Force.

Her golden eyes go wide as saucers, all new wounds opened up.

Atton takes up his lightsaber.

She takes up hers.

They race at eachother, the Force imbuing them.

They clash. A blur of black and blue as they roll on the ground, Atton grappling with her, Haxa grappling with him. They claw and bits and cut and stab at eachother; but finally Atton manages to jam a thumb into her eye, and with that distraction, puts the lightsaber through her lungs.

She gasps, once.

And then whatever was in her rustles as it leaves.

Atton falls to the ground, exhausted.

You never got up in the first place, and to be quite honest you are still too shaky from adrenaline to do it now.

"Master?"

He looks over at you, and for a moment it's just you, and him, and the storm, and he slumps as though he is the most tiredest man in the galaxy.

"Yes?"

"Are you...alright?"

He looks at the corpse he is next to, and has a look that seems to toddle between satisfied and sorrow. "Not really, no."

"Oh good, because I'm not either." You look down at the mud, before looking at him and speaking again.

"Master?"

"Hm?"

"Next time, you can be the bait."

"If it's your Psycho we need to draw out so you can deal with them, kid, sure."

"Thank you, master."

(Atton Rand revealed as Recovered, and back in action!

Darth Haxa dealt with!

+15 PP)

So, there's the miniboss dealt with. Now on to Czerka.

(So I had planned for a bit more votey stuff for this, but then I realized I needed to roll for Atton's recovery and low and behold, he was back to fighting trim. So I decided to do something real cool. Hopefully.)
