Pretty sure that the selenars were just the ones in control at the time of the pacification of Luna. With the pacification, there were other people that weren't selenars. Though apparently some people think hidden selenars were behind the destruction of the gene-seed reserve.

Being the first battle the Legiones Astartes fought outside of Terran skies, it was launched while the Unification Wars on Earth itself were still coming to a conclusion. The forces of the Emperor had already made great headway on Luna's surface, though the forces of the stubborn Cardinal Tang still held a number of fortress zones and enclaves. Tang himself commanded the gene-cults of Luna, those who believed that human nature was fractal, fractured, and transcendent. To them, the true nature of mankind was visible in the flesh and mind of the individual, but that each person was an echo of archetypes that persisted throughout human existence. Each cult clung to a different set of archetypes: some represented as anthropomorphic figures, some as numbers, and some simply as symbols. These fanatical cults were nonetheless capable gene-forgers and geneticists who operated out of massive subterranean laboratories the Emperor coveted for His own plan to mass produce His Adeptus Astartes.
After refusing to subdue and control the gene-cults diplomatically, the Emperor turned to a military option. The final straw came when the gene-cults returned one of the Emperor's emissaries as a still-screaming soup of fused flesh and metal. The Emperor deployed three Space Marine Legions, VII Legion, XIII Legion, and XVI Legion, each far smaller than it would be during the Great Crusade.
Legion XVI acted as the force's vanguard, launching itself towards Luna from Earth-based rockets. Behind them came smaller waves from the VIIth and XIIIth Legions. The formidable ground-based defenses on the surface of Luna controlled by the gene-cults opened fire. The Emperor used Legions VII and XIII as distractions, allowing Legion XVI to land assault craft unnoticed. The Astartes quickly moved into the gene-cults underground complexes, battling half-machine genetic monstrosities. These initial positions fell within seconds, with the hundred or so cultists inside dead before even realizing they were under direct assault. The Astartes disabled the cultists' orbital defenses from inside, allowing Legions VII and XIII to land and begin a systematic annihilation of all their remaining resistance. The battle only lasted six hours before all resistance on Luna crumbled. The surviving gene-cultists surrendered, begging that the Emperor "call off his wolves". The now-humbled gene-crafters of Luna would be granted mercy but were enslaved by the Emperor for His own plans.
The Selenar were conquered by the fledgling Imperium during the Pacification of Luna, but in revenge the gene-crafters were somehow able to corrupt the gene-seed of the III Legion with a disease known as "the Blight". At some point, it is known that the Selenite cults were purged by the Imperium.
The minds of most sentient beings have a direct connection to the Warp that is actually what is called the soul in many cultures. Psykers have especially strong connections to the Warp, and their souls thus appear as blazing brands to those who can see within the Immaterium, spiritual beacons which draw the hungry attention of Warp denizens. Blanks are born with no connection to the Warp at all, their presence completely invisible within the Empyrean. In fact, the minds of Blanks can actually somehow sever the connection between the Warp and realspace within their local area.
While the term "Blank" is often ascribed to all who possess the anti-psychic mutation, true Blanks, also called "Untouchables", are those humans who possess the Pariah Gene in its recessive form in their genetic code. Blanks have a better chance than true Pariahs to live a peaceful life, for since their aura of "otherness" is weak, baseline humans may simply pass it off as queerness and leave the Blank alone. While Pariahs, are mutants in whom the Pariah Gene is dominant. Their aura of "otherness" is so powerful that a baseline human finds it impossible to be in the Pariah's presence, and they are a living embodiment of the worst possible nightmare for any psychically-gifted being.
The difference between whether the pariah gene becomes fully manifested depends on the ambient psychic nourishment provided by their environment during gestation. Which is why it will often spring up on worlds with inhabitants in the millions. The more psychic energy around the more the Pariah is nourished and the more negative psychic energy they can produce. If There is an entire community of pariahs in the same location, they would produce blanks at best. Fully Active pariahs who can consciously wield the negative psychic energy that is their birthright can only be born in the psychically rich environment of a large human population, Who in response to the growing aura of wrongness caused by an untrained pariah may quickly turn against them. Banishing them from the society where the lack of ambient energy can cause said aura to diminish.

Rooted in the concept of Ichi no Tachi, or to strike in a single blow, practitioners of this style use a combination of immense speed and agility, battōjutsu, and acquired, observation-based pseudo-clairvoyance that permits a practitioner to anticipate an opponent's movements. Both offensive and defensive maneuvers are executed with minimal movement to increase a practitioner's ability to counter-attack and to conserve energy.
Its core teachings involve calmness in the face of destruction or adversary, a clear mind and graceful, fluid motions that leave no room for error. When one master the unification of mind, body, and essence they gain access to a unique ability that can never be replicated by others that serves the sole purpose of giving them an even greater edge in their most-used method of combat. This is called 'Realm of Nothingness' or 'Realm of Absolute Order'. Realm of Nothingness erases all traces of user. While they can still be seen but they have no kenki (offensive aura), no fighting spirit and no killing aura. User is practically an ordinary human. It is this Particular State which allows them to fully utilize their "Soullessness" and impose Order upon unnatural.
Practitioners of This Style have historically maintained the independence of any and all political entities, stressing highly the importance of wielding its expertise in the name of their fellow man. Under this duty, all generations of practitioners receive a great deal of insight regarding the human condition from the school's teachings. This includes instruction regarding the relativism of morality and the idea that perceptions of good and evil are not absolute; a potentially "good" human being can have any number of beliefs that may not mesh with those of the practitioner without necessarily being wrong. For anyone ill-equipped, simply employing their techniques causes cumulative, physical damage to their body. Normally, the training provided during apprenticeship enables a practitioner to condition themselves properly. But, with proper and regular training, the style serves as a veritable "fountain of youth" enabling practitioners to suppress the aging process quite a lot.

You, sir, are completely right. This is why i post the dice rolls before the update because I miss a fair bit of stuff. I'll fix it when I get to my computer, as well as figure out what planets I missed.
Research is divided into 7 categories: basic, advanced, master, grandmaster, pioneer, paragon, and transcendent. Of these, the last two require a major accomplishment to research. For example, in the daemonic lore tree was daemon world combat at the pioneer, paragon and transcendent tiers. To research the paragon tier, you would need to establish a foothold on a daemon world, while the transcendent tier would require you to take four daemon worlds, one from each of the Chaos Gods.
For the tiers, research is done on a flat d100, with basic being DC 10, advanced DC 20, master DC 30, grandmaster DC 40, and pioneer DC 50. Each has a different timescale. Basic takes 1 year, advanced takes 2 years, master takes 3 years, grandmaster takes 4 years, and pioneer takes 8 years. If the research roll fails, then research for that year will not progress. Paragon researches have no DC or roll and take 4 years. Transcendent researchers have no DC and take 8 years.
