Keep on keeping on then, but how is that baiting?

I'm arguing against using omakes for anything more than enjoyment.
Because you used a ridiculous omake to introduce a new nation scale actor to the quest. You should never be able to describe a character introduced by an omake as equivalent to the entire nation's military.

For you to now be telling other people not to try to do things with their omake, when you've already blown out of the water anything anyone else could ever do, is completely absurd.

We massively expanded our military since T99 (we tripled the size of our PDF and Helltroopers as well as implemented variuos stuff like Crab regiments/bionics/etc.). Unless you actually added projects we finished since then, in that case great job.
All of that stuff collectively adds up to around a 50% increase in the upkeep. Which then amounts to reducing it to something like 250 years payoff period. Would really need a new updated entry to get more accurate than that.

No we've done them.

Ecolocation, special muscles for moving through sand and a power that lets them eat significantly less.
Avalanche Shrub might be helpful in siege warfare.
Honeypot Lily is a species I made up, but it's totes rad.
Razor and Cannibal Grass sounds potentially helpful to improving our defences - Avernite Cities incorporate flora into their defences.
Camo Croc has obvious uses.

Then there's the canon wildlife omake list..

What?

I've already said I did the omake with the assumption it would be non canon. I did it because I found the idea interesting not for a flipping bonus.

My post was not discouraging people from writing their own omakes it was arguing against people doing it for the boni. If people want to write that's great, if there's an incentive also great, but don't write for the reward alone, do it because you have an idea, or because you find it fun. Or if that's what pushes you to write do it for the reward I guess.

What you're saying is misrepresenting the hell out of what I said and it sure as hell was not baiting anyone.

I've serious doubts you wrote 20k words, a respectable story on its own on this forum, with no expectation of a bonus.

Also how could anyone not write omakes hoping for bonuses when you have that as an example? And how can you argue against them doing so? Actions matter far more than intentions, and you certainly didn't object to the impact on the entire quest.

Actually yeah I did.

I wrote a 5000 world, citated and researched report on the 13th century black death because I found the topic interesting. Given my position it wouldn't help me into university or anything I just wanted to do something fun.

I wrote all the worlds because I love world building.

I wrote Areatha because I found the idea nice (I could barely believe that there's maybe 1 other omake about the ancient humans on Avernus and I was on a bit of an adventure time binge at the time), I got caught up in the story I was inventing, the character I was building ect.

Also if you want people writing omakes with hope of a bonus mine is a terrible example. My "bonus" was luck decided on by a random roll of the dice.

A much better example would be Addio, who on top of being an actually decent writer got to pick his bonus...twice. One of which has already had much bigger consequences than mine.

And no I didn't object. I am happy that my work has become part of the bigger universe. Its one of the best things an idiot like me could hope for, but at the same time it would not have been the same if I had been working towards making it canon from the start. It would have impacted the quality of what I put out there. Maybe its not the same for other people, but that's how it is for me.

Masque Spider
F would be i,possible as the governors own would knock you out and call for a mental health suggestionthe second they realised that you were series

I initially read that as "the governers", as in the high council.

Omake: Masque Spider

Memo, 22nd Meeting of the High Council of the Imperial Trust

During trade talks, governor Frederick Rotbart appeared to approach king Zaren Halkvar of Alfheim with a suggestion that Alfheim might want to import a selection of Avernite arachnids in order to help with pest control. Once it became apparent that Rotbart was earnest in his suggestion, King Zaren called for guards to restrain the apparently addled governor.
The ensuing fight claimed the lives of several of the meeting's security staff before the real Rotbart arrived from his meeting with governers Aelfric and Sigurd and fabricator general Scott*. Freed of the need to take the imposter alive, security forces lead by the real Rotbart looked like they would be able to subdue it.
Once it became clear that the fake would not be able to fight its way free, its human guise exploded with the force of a krak grenade. From the remains real imposter emerged: a spider-like creature 5.41 meters long and 1.8 meters tall. The beast was ultimately slain in a joint effort by Governor Rotbart and Governor Surt.

* They had been meeting to discuss the implications of modern Titan manufacturing with regards to Trust military doctrine.

So I got some info about the Iron men more destructive weapons. Apparently there planet/fleet destroying weapons were giant serpent looking ships. Since the gravity ship does not have the appearance of the void dragon I think my theory of it being some type of mass FTL transporter may have more credence.

Also it increasing looks like the void dragon might have been responsible for the Iron men rebellion. What with them adopting serpent and necron motif as they got more destructive. Or they really were going down necron tech tree.

Something else is that apparently humanity and the Iron men would destroy stars as a tactical weapon. Something the Eldar and Necrons consider bad, since it interferes with the flow of the galaxy or something. Not that they would not do it but it be last resort for them.

Durin writes updates for us with no expectation of a bonus.

Hmmmm....

I wonder what dark, ulterior motives he must have...

Siren Rune of Banishment: Black Irons- One suggested use for the Siren Rune of Banishment is to provide the entire Black Irons Division with weapons marked with the rune. This would give your most stalwart division a major boost in combat against daemonic foes. While time consuming, this project would give you an entire elite division that is able to engage daemons with far greater effect then conventional forces, which would be invaluable when you next come up against daemonic hordes again.

Time: 4 years

Cost: 75,000,000 Thrones, 750,000 Advanced Material, 65,000 Exotic Material.
Upkeep per year: 15,000,000 Thrones, 75,000 Advanced Material, 3,200 Exotic Material
Reward: Provide Siren Rune of Banishment Inscribed Weapons to the Black Irons. +50 to all rolls by Black Irons against daemons, +50% to all damage done by Black Irons to daemons, -5 to daemons armour against attacks from Black Irons,

@Durin, this option needs to be removed since it was completed last turn.

oh! this time can we check the relationship between the adeptus mechanicus of dragon's nest and the adeptus mechanichus of the imperial trust?

Would it be worth it to go ahead and get the Adjudicator and the Mindcatcher this turn? The Adjudicator is less for us and more so that the other Trust woulds can make there own. And we may be able to use the Mindcatcher as the base of something that can make the Gravatic Array work.

I guess we could...but why?

We can already make Adjudicators it was a complete STC we got from the datacore.

We have 2 of them at the moment.

Politics. Potential threat. Exploration.

Preparation to create plans for interaction with die-hard remnants of the adeptus mechanicus in the future.

Honestly, I want to see the culture clash, or the culture harmony, between the two. I can't tell which political voice would be more vocal in dragon's nest, or if the two adeptus mechanicus groups have a nuetrality agreement with each other.

I think we should use our free divination to check up on the Sanginour. In addition to getting a good look at an important Imperial asset, it'll apparently unlock a potential research action for Lin.

I guess...not really a priority since the BD's admech haven't really turned up as a major power between us yet.

With any luck they'll be included with the blood dragon's investigation as the two are likely very closely linked.

In any case if I were to guess...I'd say neutrality. Even if Scott is likely junior the sheer holiness of Avernus and our stuff gives us a ton of cloute and if the BD have a faction equivalent to our progressives then they've likely had a boost.

Sorry not sorry :D.

But seriously we do need to learn what's going on with him and if he's a good trade partner so we can actually get that ball rolling. CURSE SO MANY THINGS!!!

If that primarch is alive, which primarch did the thread believe Surt is again?
Vulkan, but in fairness I believe that one was more of a joke.

I mean we still have no idea how he's so strong, but AI shenanigans seems likely.

Anyhow on the Primarch front, we have IC knowledge Vulkan's online and suspicions that Corax is as well.

OOC we know that Russ, Jaghati, Corvus and Vulkan are all back and readying themselves.

@Durin, we have an action under Telepathica to research the psychic powers of various local flora and fauna. Can we:
1) Have a similar action under administration, but focused applying various avernite plants and animals to our cities and territory either for:
1a) Defense
1b) Economic applications
1c) Health and Luxuries

I know we've done similar with Thundabeasts and Krakens for defense, and Razorgrass and Beergrass and the Dragonflies, but we don't seem to have a specific action for targeting other stuff we've researched.

First Draft Plan:

Military
2 year- Implement (AA Missile Launcher OR AA Heavy Missile Launcher): Planning
4 year- Implement (Hellsword OR Testudo-class Guardian Tank): Planning
As Richards wants only short projects. The Laucher is infantry portable while the heavy version could probaly replace/support other AA weapons.
The Hellsword is a siege tank and the Testudo has a projectable void shield to protect against our most hated foe: artillery.

Void
SLOT A- 5 year- Construct: Repairs: Second Step
SLOT B- 3 year- Expand Shipyards: Small
SLOT C- 5 year- Upgrade Defences (Avernus)
Small shipyards are faster to build than large ones and because they are build in groups of 5 (because we have 5 large ones). Given that we need to rebuild lots of escorts often we need more capacity to build them. 5 small give more in that regard compared to a large one and additionally for lower upkeep than a large one reduce the upkeep of our fleet more.

Administratum
1 year- Wildlife Export Goods
Given the calculation above I am unsure if the repair workshops will be worthwihle yet.

Diplomacy
3 year- Areatha: Open Pass
4 year- Trade Talks (Nynye)
5 year- Sirens Trade (Stability Rune (if to expensive Bridge Rune instead) and Rune of Enchanting together FOLLOWED BY Elemental, Defensive, Enchanting and their Inverse versions (cheapest first to most expensive))
With doubling and DD Open Pass it gets a chance of 57% (if not more if Fredericks Diplo or the Palast bonus apply) to crit (over 100 and beate the odds by 75% or more). That should give interesting and favorable results.

Arbites
SLOT A- Year 1- Counter-Intelligence
SLOT A- Year 2- Focused Psyker Hunting
SLOT A- Year 3- Focused Psyker Hunting
SLOT A- Year 4- Greater Psyker Hunting
SLOT A- Year 5- Counter-Intelligence
SLOT B- Year 4- Greater Psyker Hunting
SLOT B- Year 5- Counter-Intelligence
Doubled up on Greater Hunting and Counter to see what hapens. I am open for suggestions.

Mechanicus
Explorator- Year 1- Goliath Factory Ship Redesign
Explorator- Year 4- Gravatic Array: Computing Issues
Biologis- Year 3- Complete Examination (Carniflower)
Free- Year 1- Repair the Well of Urd
There are more important actions for Thrant but with Ridcully busy researching cheating is not an option. So the things that will work.
With the Goliath redesigned some will be build by the time the Well is ready to search for the Shipyard.

Ministorum
SLOT A- Year 3- Those in the Shadows
SLOT A- Year 4- Those in the Shadows
SLOT A- Year 5- IF FAILED The Power of Faith ELSE The Power of Dominions
SLOT B- Year 3- Preaching
SLOT A- Year 4- What is an Archetype?
An Alpha comes up. So Lins help would be great.

Tlelephatica
Tamia- Year 1- Mentoring: Beta
Tamia- Year 2- Anti-Ork Powers: Techbane
Tamia- Year 5- Mentoring: Alpha
Aria- Year 1- Mentoring: Alpha
Aria- Year 2- Psychic Materials: Congregation Asps
Aria- Year 3- Psychic Materials: Phase Tigers
Aria- Year 4- Psychic Materials: Bombartment Cacti
Aria- Year 5- Mentoring: Beta
Working on the backlog of animals to dissect. The last few investigated had good results.

Personal
SLOT Attention- Year 1- Implement (Landing Pad): Planning
SLOT Attention- Year 3- Areatha: Open Pass
SLOT Attention- Year 4- Implement (Hellblade): Planning
SLOT Thaddeus- Year 3- Expand (City) to Small Hive
SLOT C- Year 1- Knowing Avernus (QM's Choice)
SLOT C- Year 2 to 5- Spend Time With (Person)
No better idea.
