I'm going to vote for these right now, just a suite of general purpose upgrades to make the Iron Tiger more effective. The most specialized one here is probably the SCARS, but given that it's the height of the Cold War an anti-fallout system would be good to have, even if it's "just in case." I don't think we're going to need to go crazy anti-radar coating or stealth systems yet though.

Now while the first Tigerlink app does interest me, my headcanon's thinking that maybe it's still too soon to adopt something that complex just yet. This will be the first iteration of Tigerlink, and it's gonna be buggy as hell unless we roll high. A poor Tigerlink roll will be bad for the Tigerlink app methinks. So maybe something we'll add in later versions of this mech instead. Besides, people will still need to get used to this mecha before they start thinking up their own moves. In a way, Dragonbone's also sort of like training wheels for mechas with how it helps with stability and balancing. Not to mention fine motor maneuvers. It's a good addition to the first native design.

Flood Lights
Some times you just wanna see something when it is too dang dark outside. Or need to blind your enemies. These are Lights that can go up to 4000 lumens and are placed strategically over the body. 2 just under the 'pectorals' for the front, 2 place similarly for the back 2 on top for the left and right respectively. All hidden under a armored panel for protection. Intended to see outside at dark conditions and to blind enemies at sudden Burt's or confuse them with strobe effects. We also working on creating something called a "Light Emitting Diode" to eventually replace these glass bulbs for smaller and more easily hidden lights for the future!
Night Vision
And sometimes you need to see in the dark without blinding your enemies and giving away your position. The Night Vision Shutters are places on the inside and can be manually closed in front if the viewing slits allowing ti see in the dark. Additionally many of the various cameras will be made with a Night Vision mode to see better as well. They'll also be linked to the lights so as the lights get turned up the Night Vision will go down as not to go blind.
Pinhole Cameras
There will be a multitude of pinhole cameras carefully spread across every nook and cranny of the Iron Tiger and linked with the computer to provide a 360° view of the space around the Iron Tiger to ensure sneak attacks are impossible!
Tigerlink: Distribution of Tactical Data App
Each Iron Tiger is out fitted with a short range transmitter keyed to only to the ITs being fielded. Every tactical data from the Tigerlink's original streamlined purpose is transmitted to the rest in to let every member be aware of overall situation. Camera data is also compiled for a "mini-map" function to alert enemy positions with Iron Tiger computers calculating together in real time. Any non pre-registered computers intruding are denied. Any duplicate registration are kept out based on latest to appear. Where it'll be noted and red flagged for later and the approximate location is noted for further intrusion attempts.

I'm definitely gonna write a sidestory in the future where a foreign power hatches a plan to capture an Iron Tiger intact by using biochemical agents to kill or incapacitate the pilot. Then have the captors thank their god/s that the design team didn't think it was necessary to install a sealable environment with a separate atmosphere for the pilot. Then I'll leave it to @HeroCooky to roll a dice to determine whether the plan succeeds or the pilot is saved thanks to other factors.

If that doesn't pan out, I'm thinking of writing a Behind Enemy Lines kinda thing. Iron Tiger gets disabled in enemy territory. Pilot bails then initiates self-destruct. Pilot escapes with highly sensitive data retrieved from the Tigerlink computer. Enemy forces attempt to kill or capture pilot and retrieve data. It'll be epic.
It's totes gonna be written as a novel then turned into a Guangchou blockbuster hit. Might even pan out into a tv series, a cartoon, and a videogame. Who knows.

Maybe, but it is the height of the Cold War right now so I feel think having some anti-nuclear measures is fine. We're not the USSR, but we're living with the fact that we've got 4 or 5 US nukes with our name on them, if only to fuck up the Chinese naval projection in the area by wiping out the ports. I see having at least a little bit of reassurance that our military can defend us even if the worst comes to pass make sense narratively, even if we don't actually need it for a while.

The lights above buzz with energy, as the shadows they cast loom ominously across the hangar, even as the largest one engulfs the personnel gathered below.
Your heart thumps, louder and louder, as all else save for the whining gears remains in silence.
And with a might clang, the lift stops. Your foot carries forward, and you feel the moment linger for what seems like an eternity. But then, you plant it onto the platform, one step closer to your destination.
The open cockpit lies just ahead, a few short steps, yet each feels longer than the first and each one before. However, like the first, they pass, one by one. Until finally, you enter the small space, planting your body onto the lone seat within.
Almost in a daze, a muffled voice sounds on the radio embedded into the machine's console; powered by batteries yet also linked to the machine's powerplant, a redundancy.
Your mind fails to comprehend the words broadcasted, yet countless hours of drills and training ensure your body responds correctly and precisely, your voice joining as your mouth seemingly operates on its own.
And just like that, the pre-ignition checks are done, and the cockpit doors begin to shut.
As the metal thuds shut and the hiss of the seals sound out, the fog in your mind dissipates. With alarming clarity, you lift the helmet you'd carried on the way and placed on your lap as you sat down. Based on the interlinked Weisoft terminals back at the compound, Tigerlink is designed as an "overseer" system to monitor the Iron Tiger's subsystems, power levels, ammo count, fuel, and more. A necessary component in the original laufpanzer design, and an immense contribution to the design's success, the gyro is an internal mechanism used to counteract and direct the tremendous forces generated by the engine and moving parts within the Iron Tiger mecha. It also assists the mecha in executing precise maneuvers, as well as rebalancing the entire structure and restoring stability should an external force (such as projectile impacts) act upon the Iron Tiger. This gyro is accompanied by reinforced joints and loadbearing components to allow the mecha increased stability when under fire.

An integrated life support system was designed to allow the Iron Tiger to operate in areas with dangerous gasses or high levels of nuclear fallout. The SCARS consists of an air-tight sealed cockpit for the operators kept at a slightly higher internal air pressure to prevent the ingress of radioactive material and gasses, with the internal atmosphere filtered by a re-breather system to maximize the duration of the onboard air storage. To avoid the addition of yet another operational limit beyond fuel and ammunition, the SCARS should be able to be deactivated when not needed, opening sealed vents to allow for the refilling of the onboard air tanks mid-mission and ventilating the cockpit directly to the exterior to preserve the limited storage capacity of the C02 scrubbers for when it is needed. Such a system would also be helpful in mining operations where sufficient ventilation has not been established, and asphyxiation due to engine exhaust or other gasses is a risk, or possibly even underwater, if additional protections were developed to prevent water ingress to the other vital systems.

Now, to be fair, your planners and logistical personnel managed to do the latter three without fail and no problems; the island isn't that big. The explosion within the Steel Foundry (and subsequent halting in the production of rails, trains, and busses) threw a giant wrench into your plans to make sure that the programs would work as you wanted them to and that they were able to provide you with the benefits you were making the for in the first place. While transporting people between Point A to Point B in a much shorter timeframe and higher quantity to boot was lovely, the military logistical and agricultural sides were of much more serious concern to you. The first was self-explanatory; moving soldiers and material to where you needed them in the case of an invasion within minutes or an hour was titanically better than having to send them marching for who-knows-how-long. Additionally, they would have to rest before entering battle or do so exhausted and miserable already, impacting their combat capabilities.
The latter had been a linchpin in your Five-Year Plan. You see, moving fresh produce within an hour of being harvested into a freezer or cannery would reduce your food waste even further than it currently is, allowing you to retain more of the produce and increase the median caloric ingestion and vitamins your people would be able to eat. Unfortunately, with that shortcut in increasing efficiency now significantly hampered, your effort to fulfill the promises you made to the people is in serious jeopardy now. Meaning you will have to start sprinting in your agricultural efforts rather than the jog you had planned.

You couldn't do anything more than have some tours around the buildings to familiarize yourself with the layout and space offered to the people that would soon live within the buildings, but it was enough to get an opinion. Frankly, the new complexes are kilometers ahead of what your father managed to construct, offering amenities and space in excess of what most people possess. For example, the laundry rooms are very impressive, as is the floor where people can partake in essential services such as medicine, haircutting, news, and even a tiny store without ever leaving the complex! Downright futuristic!
