[X] Tacit stabs Kraken.
[X] Jagdhund shoots Charybdis with the Electromagnetic Projector.
[X] The Heimdal shoots Charybdis.

As the kaiju pours its venom out over Tacit's torso, the jaeger attacks, slashing at Kraken! Caught in an awkward position, Grae tries to defend the smaller kaiju-- but it's far too late.

Destruction Wound to the head! Instant Death!
SE-26-047, "Kraken" Defeated!
Grae takes 4 Strikes from clustering!

Kraken's head is bisected, the both blades overpenetrating its body and slicing into Grae as well!

Finally locked down, the Heimdal opens fire-- only for the slug to bounce off, having failed to penetrate the armour.

No damage!

Jagdhund, meanwhile, decides to use her prone position to her advantage. Power cables shunt stations, sending as much of the supercell's output as Jagdhund can spare flooding out of her shoulder-mounted IE-10!

Charybdis takes 4 Strikes! Charybdis is on Fire! Charybdis is thrown back 3 units! Charybdis is losing stamina!

The bolt of lightning strikes the kaiju directly in its unprotected chest, the sheer energy setting the monster alight, and causing it to spasm backwards. Charybdis crashes to the ground, shuddering as its nervous system is simply overwhelmed. Such distress is too much for its rapidly haemorrhaging brain-- and the kaiju simply expires.

Death by Brain Bleed!
SE-26-044, "Charybdis" Defeated!

It is at this point that Grae becomes exceedingly aware of several things: One, all its allies are dead. Two, its opponents, conversely, are more than capable. And three, it's screwed if it lets them get away with anything else.

For a fraction of a second, Grae's body flashes orange-gold, a blue aura igniting around its edges.

And then it disappears, the sharp crack of air rushing in nearly pushing Tacit off its feet for the second time, as the Breach alerts are set screaming.

Burnout Mass Teleport! Grae escapes the battlefield!

Seconds tick by, before the scanner technicians pull themselves out of their shock, and people rush back to their stations. They only manage to grab a fleeting signature, about two hundred and forty kilometres south of the city, but... well, at this point, there's nothing that can be done. With the Mt. St. Helens Breach roughly a fifth of that distance from the kaiju, and all their forces on the northern side of the city, by the time they remobilise and set out, it'll be gone. And that's not even factoring in Waltz.

It's gone.

Well? What now?

(Keep in mind you still have Waltz to deal with, who is currently a few hectometres North of your dudes.)

[x] Morse Waltz: "Do you require assistance?"
Why not?
Waltz has actual metal armor, right? (Not bio-Sejin stuff)

Did we ever decided if we wanted to try out magic again?
No idea. I may have missed whatever discussion we had about it. But right now we're researching portals and breach swords and energy shields as concrete concepts, so researching magic is unneeded.

EDIT: Apparently, we are supposed to research magic this downtime

Son of a bitch! New Breach research goal, teleportation and how to shut it the fuck down.
That aside, I love how great the Electromagnetic Projector is at point blank.

Y'know what I'd like to do?
Make another Heimdal.
Very possible. A super neat railgun on treads for only 8k a pop? Why not?
I love railguns as much as any other guy, but The Heimdal's performance has been rather... lackluster lately. I think we should upgrade either the Heimdal's stats or the Railgun itself before building more.

I remember the consensus was to go for it. I know I have absolutely no problem with more Magic research.

Anyway, let's move onto voting.

[X] Morse to Waltz asking his status and if he requires any help.

The exterior is all metal-- likely some sort of steel. Inside looks to be Seijin bio-tech, thoroughly soaked with their weird coolant-blood.

At point blank, it's 1d10+7-- you just got the +2 prone bonus as well. It's a decent weapon, once you start dealing enough damage. Low-level Electricity weapons are less useful, but once you're over 8 or 9 points, it gets good.

And finally, I do have a Magic System in mind for if/when you guys figure it out! (It's not D&D/Harry Potter stuff. Far more grounded and ruled than that).

[X] Morse to Waltz asking his status and if he requires any help.

Sure, let's go with this phrasing.

"sir, the natives have started throwing fireballs at us."
"you mean some sort of new incendiary weapon?"
"no I mean a bunch of them in weird robes and pointed hats waved there arms and giant balls of fire started raining down on our kaiju."
"OH WHAT THE FU-"

and that's when the Kaiju masters rage quit.

We should research railguns for both jaeger and naval use and maybe abit cheaper ones aswell ?

Also we could try to save for a new jaeger.

You're almost fully capable of constructing a Mark I using the materials you already have-- and a Mark III isn't far behind. So researching equipment for the new jaeger (whatever it ends up being) may be a good investment.

also, need more votes.

One of the reasons I want more is more dice to roll > better chance of at least one railgun hitting.

*chants* Revolver Shogun! Revolver Shogun! Revolver Shogun!

More seriously, we just saw that a Ranged Jaeger (or Seijin, in this case) can be fucking awesome. I want me all the guns.

[X] Contact Waltz with the Morse system we know he's fluent in; ask what his status is and if he requires assistance.

I would prefer a brawler or/And ranged focused one. Probably the ranged one first maybe with the level 4 power core and level 3 frame? Brawler could start out as level 1 tough and just spend points / upgrades in the brawling cats and maybe give the jaeger a weapon . Also we could use sheath and that strange sword we got from kajuu on one of our guys and it costs only 200 resources (maybe build like 3-4 of those so the action is more efficent)

And if we need research lets do it this turn for mark 3 since we cant get it much cheaper if i remember the research right ? cause upgrading takes abit to many actions and getting better base stats is a good idea.
