Vote closed, nothing gained this time.

Can we skip the the next vote and just role strait to creature and what our pick from them? Since that seems like what the majority is planning with 590 to 710 point for a powerfull creature.
Tempting but I don't want to deviate from our current system. Some very good powers are pretty expensive and maybe some people will want to try for those.

After the spar, I still had a little time for a more classical workout. I left Buoy to play with Spike while I moved toward the punching bag. While I worked on my punching technique I reflected on our spar and in particular on the move that he used.

I noticed one thing, he never used Night Shade, it wasn't a really strong move but it was much harder to avoid than Water Gun. I was sure that it wasn't a coincidence that it was the move that I asked him to use against Hookwolf. I could only hope that he would still be willing to use it against real enemies. On the other hand, his other moves proved to be extremely useful, Strength Sap especially could be a game-changer. A way to neutralize a non-Brute in just two or three uses and even a Brute would be rendered much less dangerous.

Water Gun, and water moves in general, were another excellent option. They could still cause bruises or even broken bones, but lethal wounds were a lot less likely.

When I finished with the punching bag I turned around to check on Buoy. I was surprised to find Spike on his head and Buoy pointing at various objects in the room. He was teaching him to recognize things? While I very much doubt that Spike was smart enough to understand, their camaraderie was good to see.

"I see that you're having fun guys."

Buoy gave me a big smile and a happy thrill. "Friend!"

"I can see that. But we need to get going, I need to take a shower and then we go on patrol. You'll come with me right?"
He gave me a firm nod.

"Great let's go then."

Half an hour later I found myself in the garage followed by my partners. I was the last one to arrive, Velocity and Flashbang were already there. After a few short greetings, we got on our way. At this hour, our patrol would be more for public relations than real crime-fighting, as such, I would be walking with the others. For obvious reasons, Flashbang wasn't very talkative.

We were stopped by numerous people while walking, people were intrigued by this sudden cooperation between the Protectorate and New Wave. We deflect questions as best as we could, saying that it was an exercise to increase our coordination. I don't think many people fell for that, but it was the official cover story.

Numerous times we were asked for autographs and photos. Buoy and Spike were especially popular with children. At one point Buoy even improvised an aquatic show when we reached the boardwalk, doing an impressive performance with multiple jumps out of the water. I also discovered that since this morning he learned Water Pulse in place of Water Gun. He used it to create spectacular shapes in the air. Sadly even if people really enjoyed it, Buoy even received a round of applause, we weren't there for that so I was forced to put an end to his performance.

Halfway through our patrol, we were passing through the business district when a young patrolman, my age I think, approached Velocity.

"Sorry to bother you sir, but something happened at the Medhall building. Someone painted a big graffiti on the wall overlooking the parking lot."

Velocity exchanged a bemused look with me before responding. "A graffiti? While it's regrettable to see such a respected enterprise being tarnished, I don't see how it concerns the Protectorate."

The policeman shrunk a little on himself. "Hu, It's just that, hu, the subject represented is, hu, special. You need to see it for yourself." At the end of his halting response, he gave me a weird look. A mix of pity and fear.

"It doesn't cost us anything to have a look. Very well let's go."

We followed the policeman around the building toward the parking lot hidden behind it.

When I spotted the "graffiti", I stopped dead in my tracks, and Buoy barely avoided colliding with my back. I understood why he insisted that we see it. Calling it graffiti was an understatement, it was more like street art, it could even be called a wall painting. The quality was undeniable, it must have taken a lot of work and hours to complete. It was at least 5m in width and 3m in height.

I saw in the corner of my vision; Velocity winced and he looked at me with worried eyes, wondering how I would react. Even the apathetic Flashbang was visibly surprised.

Those reactions were caused not by the quality of the work but by the subject matter. It was me. The Heroes Compendium was the centerpiece of this graffiti.

Evidently, it was not a piece glorifying me. That would have been embarrassing but funny, it would just have meant that I got an overzealous fan. But no, it was much worse than that.
This graffiti represents my corpse put on a display, I was crucified on a cross made of metal blades, with my eyes gruesomely ripped out and my intestine spilling out of my guts.

If it was just that It would have already been shocking enough. But it didn't stop there, it depicted some of my most well-known partners, dead too. Aylamon was slumped down with three-quarters of her body reduced to ash. Buoy was suspended to a big fishing rod. All that was left of Rainbow was a bloody fur rug. And Thorne was crushed beneath a trash can.

Above it, was proudly displayed the symbol of the Empire. The meaning was clear, they wouldn't stop until they managed to hunt me down.

They can come, we'll be ready for them./They have seen nothing of what we can do./I can't wait to see Kaiser's face when we deploy a full-size Rex.

"Compendium, are you alright?" Velocity's voice interrupted my vengeful train of thought.

"I'll be fine, it was a shock I admit. But I'll deal with it. I'm mostly wondering who did that? Do any cape in the Empire have artistic talent or did they find a talented artist among their unpowered members?"

"It's an interesting question but not our main concern. This is a declaration of war from the Empire, and their action against Shielder last night only accentuated it."

I was about to respond when I heard a commotion coming from behind. Turning around I spot a man in an elegant suit approaching and giving an earful to a young woman in a pencil skirt, assistant perhaps.

"Why wasn't I notified of this sooner? Someone dared to damage my society's building and I only learned it hours later from office gossip."

He ignored us as he passed by and looked at the "graffiti". "This is a travesty, and an insult. Using my building to belittle a promising young protector of our community."

Sharply he turned toward Velocity and me. "I apologize for that, I will personally investigate how someone managed to bypass our security to create that atrocity. You have my word."

He nodded toward me. "I am Max Anders, PDG of Medhall. Despite the circumstance. I must say that it's a pleasure to meet you. Using your powers to protect us all from the evil of the world, like the Empire, must take a lot of courage. So thank you."

"It's nice to meet you, sir. And I'm just doing my duty as a responsible citizen."

"I'm sure. In any case, I need to go, I have a lot of work as you can imagine. And now I need to send orders for someone to clean that up. I hope it won't take too long."

"Don't bother, I'll take care of it, it's personal." I turned away from his confused expression. "Olky!"

"Master called for Olky?"

"Yes, could you take care of that, please? It offends me."

My elf gave me a fierce smile. "With pleasure Master." After a moment of concentration and a snap of his finger the horrifying display disappeared.

"Good work Olky. You can return to your duty." With another nod, he disappeared and my new senses told me that he was back on the rooftop across the street.

Mister Anders seemed shocked by the effectiveness of Olky's power but he spoke up. "That was impressive, your projections are really versatile. To think you have one just to clean messes." His comment was curious and inquisitive.

"Yes, my partners can do lots of different things. But, Olky in particular can do a lot more than just clean. I see that Velocity and Flashbang are waiting for me. It was a pleasure to meet you, Mister Anders."

I gave him a nod and rejoined the other two heroes. My mind was still on that "graffiti" but I tried to not delve into it. I looked back at the entrance of the Medhall building and thought back about Kelly. Before I got my power, I had a crush on her but it's been more than two weeks since I last thought about her. It was weird how things change.

As we marched on, I couldn't help but think back about the discussion with Mister Anders and I wondered why The Libra ringed continuously in my mind when he talked. What was he lying about?

If it rang constantly then he was constantly lying.
I woulda asked Okay to alter it into a praise of me and gotten Kaiser to keep it up as a giant FU.
[X] Creature let's get a huge damage dealer, or at least something powerful
You need to make your sentence start on a different line because right now the site thinks that while comment is your vote.

Thinking on, would this chain of logic help Compendium? If it was a single lie then Alec can pin down the lie. Moreover, he can mark out every possible variation of what could be the truth. Was it a half lie/half true combo? Was Anders stating the opposite of what he meant? Is he being held hostage to speak on a script and fake the entire encounter( we know, but not like Compendium is privy to the meta)? Is this a lie of omission? Does Anders just hate Capes, and all his lies are just him forcing him to play the part of a business man?

With, what I can only assume, every other third word from CEO Anders a lie, then what does that leave Alex? The Libra has not shown itself to be an aware and living summon like others, nor does it seem to possess a 'living,' form like other Card Captors. Meaning, feedback and explanation is currently limited until Compendium's Magic usage grows. However, it's a true telling power, and it's more or less backed by his soul and on the principles of Magic. I would be disappointed if Compendium disregarded The Libra( especially, in light of Hookwolf's honest callousness towards nonwhites), but this blanket statement doesn't leave a lot of exploration. Or rather it leaves too much to parse through in a reasonable amount, so it's not believable for Compendium to catch on to any relevant details of Max Anders; canon or quest based.

If anything, I kind of want a last minute conversation between Compendium and Anders before the Endbringers are barreling down on the East Coast. One where Compendium isn't aware that Anders is Kaiser, and that Alex came to some minor acceptance early on that nothing really matters is long as said Endbringers continue to exist. Not the Slaughterhouse 9's depredations, Coil's desire for a city-state fiefdom, Gesellschaft's scheming and patronage, PRT PR event, or any other publicly known actions. For, all of Hookwolf's crimes and position with the E88, it was all Bread and Circus for a world going down the drain; And worst, Hookwolf is part of the drain!

Unfortunately, this conversation isn't going to happen with the way events are moving, nor with actors like Coil. I'm not sure it's possible to remain unaware long term, even if other events pop up.

Not sure why but I think I already know what will win, just a feeling.

Blue Magic: For those that don't know blue magic is a specific form of magic from Final Fantasy where the user can learn spells normally only usable by monsters.
In the CM if the user gains Blue Magic, he immediately gains access to the Goblin Punch spell. In addition, most monsters from the FF category, but not all, grant additional spells.
For Compendium, he would gain Goblin Punch but also 1000 Needles from his Cactuar.
