[X] One Power roll with 200 points and a second Power roll with any leftover plus 100 point

Chapter 48: Panacea part 2
[X] One Power roll with 200 points and a second Power roll with any leftover plus 100 point

First Power Roll: (200 points)
Roll, D100=71, 300 Ally transformation, Too expansive
Second Power Roll: (300 points)
Roll, D100=79, 50 Enhance themes, Already gained reroll
Roll, D100=39, 300 Free Modification, Power gained
Banked 0 Points

Oh, that one is really good, it works with our two themes but also with Clockwork and perhaps even better with Weapon Summoning.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"You can summon the first projection, I'm ready to start." Panacea's voice was still authoritative but friendlier than earlier. Analyzing me seems to have put her in better moods.

"Most of them are already present in the buildings, they just need to be brought here. And for that may I present to you my butler, Olky." I clap in my hands. "Please Olky come to meet our guests."

My house elf immediately appeared before the two sisters and bowed deeply to them before straightening up. "Olky is very pleased to meet you. Olky is at your service."

Both sisters jumped when Olky appeared and looked to be fascinated. Finally, it was Panacea that spoke up first but more hesitantly than before.

"Hum, hello Olky. It's a pleasure to meet you too. Can I take your hands? I need to scan you."

"Of course Miss. It is no trouble for Olky."

Like with me Panacea seems to go in a trance as soon as she touches my butler's hand. But it didn't last long and she let go.

"Well, my power definitively works on you Olky. Your biology is perfectly normal as far as I can tell, even though I don't recognize your DNA at all. The only weird thing is an energy field that permeates through your whole body but I think it's your power at work."

"Yes, that's certainly it. Olky doesn't look like it but he's most probably the most powerful and versatile among my partners."

I could see Olky blushing from the praise so to spare him a little embarrassment I asked him to go fetch Floramon.

He nodded and disappeared. It didn't take long for him to reappear accompanied by my Digimon.

Upon seeing the two heroines, Floramon immediately started gushing at them.

"Wow, Panacea and Glory Girl too. It's great to meet you. You're my favorite heroes with Vista. Could I have your autograph?"

Both sisters seemed bemused by that familiar fangirling coming from a projection but complied and even took a selfie with her.

When it came time for the test, Panacea took her hand and seemed confused. She grabbed Floramon's other hand, then put her own hand on Floramon's head. My Digimon gave me a confused look and I just shrugged in return.

"I can't feel anything at all with my power. Either you're immune to my power or you aren't biological at all."

"Oh, that's easy! It's because I'm made of data."

"Made of Data?" Glory Girl's tone was disbelieving.

"Yep, yep, yep. I'm a digital entity, I'm made of solidified data." Floramon's explanation didn't seem to help and both girls turned toward me.

I proceed to explain the various theories regarding the origin of my partners, alternate dimension, my own subconscious, the collective human subconscious, or even completely randomly generated.

This launches a debate with Vicky about the origin of power. It was very interesting and even Floramon listened avidly. But seeing that Panacea was growing impatient I cut it short and sent Olky to bring Buoy next.

This time Amy stayed in contact with my floating jellyfish for a while, eyes closed. When she got out of her trance she took a deep breath.

"Wow, that was fascinating. Never seen anything like it before, it's like someone took pure energy, solidified it, and gave it a shape. But it still follows the basic rules of biology, with organs and everything."

She gave me a flat stare. "Give me more."

Vicky suppressed a laugh at that.

"I don't have any others exactly like Buoy but I'll see what I can do."

We continued like that for some time, we didn't get any more extreme reactions like with Buoy but Panacea was satisfied with the variety.

Among the other tests the most notable was Thorne because she had a hard time reading his biology, Scalpa because she couldn't identify the mechanism by which he could produce so much slime, and Scorgem because while she could weirdly enough read its crystal body she couldn't make head or tails of it.

White drew some passing interest particularly with his legs articulation and his robust constitution, and my Koala sheep provoked some mutter about impossible DNA mix.

We finished with Rainbow, in the garage because there wasn't enough room in the testing room.

"That's the one you want to see most, isn't it sis?" Vicky exclaimed and turned toward me. "We were looking at cape videos on Viewtube and we found one of you showing off with your giant tiger on the boardwalk. Sis here was instantly hooked and said that she would accept the PRT request." In a stage whisper, she adds. "She loved cats, but Mom doesn't want pets."

"Vicky!" An embarrassed Amy pouted at her sister.

I resist the urge to laugh, barely. But seeing the good-natured ribbing between the sisters was nice. Because I didn't want to make her wait anymore I summoned my tiger/lion hybrid immediately. He was among the few that I hadn't summoned in the morning because I didn't want to have him wait trapped in a room too small for him and even the garage wouldn't have been fun.

He immediately began to purr and rub against me. "Hello, big guy, nice to see you. May I present to you Panacea and Glory Girl."

With curiosity, he approached both girls, who were frozen in indecision, and sniffed them before he resumed purring and plop down waiting for scratches.

Glory Girl was the first to approach him. "Wow, that's a big Kitty." She began scratching him behind the neck, near his mane. This only intensified the purring making the ground tremble.
Panacea joined her sister and both seemed to enjoy touching Rainbow's fur.

"Well, he seems to be perfectly normal, biologically speaking, his DNA is weird but indeed feline in origin. He seems to possess an energy field similar to Olky but that's all."

She continued petting him for a while before reluctantly removing her hand. By now Vicky has flown above Rainbow to land on his back and was completely hidden by his mane.

"So what is the verdict doc? Are my partners safe to be around?"

Amy responded pretty firmly. "Well, it depends on how you look at it, left unrestricted they could do great damage. You have basically a cape team at your personal service, and that is growing constantly. But if you are asking on a purely biological level, yes they are safe to be around, no trace of pathogens or parasites and in addition, they are all sterile."

"Thank you, Amy, I'm sure that this will reassure my superior. You can come to visit anytime, next time I may have gained some more interesting creatures."

The sisters left shortly thereafter, even if Vicky was reluctant to let go of Rainbow.

Just as I was returning to my office I felt the Menagerie activating again. After careful analysis, it proved to be a really useful one, the ability to freely use my transformation effects on my creatures. I was sure that I would get a lot of mileage from this one.

This chapter wasn't easy to write but I really like the result. Still no story vote but I didn't know what choice I could give you at this point.
The next chapter may be delayed until the end of next week because I'm going on a short holiday and will only be able to access the internet on my phone.

For the roll, 100 points.

The possibility to write omake concerning the interview of our creatures is still open for those interested.

[X] Power

People should know my stance on 100 point creatures at this point, rather try and remove powers (and there are still some useful 100 point powers- Strategist is the one that comes to mind). If not we save the points for next time and can try again for a 200 point power.

Also that free modification power is neat- it let us chose when to apply templates and themes even after summoning and lets us end those without de-summoning a creature, also works on weapon and vehicle summoning. We can get a lot of use out of that, for example popping between plant and constellation and normal themes, changing who gets clockwork applied to and so on.

If it's not too much trouble, can you explain what putting Clockwork on a Weapon summon does? The themes seem fairly straightforward, at least.
Of course, putting Clockwork on a summoned weapon has multiple effects? It allows you to use Heavy hits and Repairs from the weapon, it increases the resistance of the weapon a fair bit (particularly useful for melee weapons used to block) and it slightly increases the weapon attack power.
In general applying a variant, template, etc... to a weapon grant you access to the active effect and applies the stat boost to the weapon.

My Digimon gave me a confused look and I just shrugged in return.
Lol. The head pat of confirmation of existence.

Panacea was growing impatient I cut it short
- Panacea points: "Sister is taking center stage…again."
- Shaper points: " ….Collective Unconscious? What's next the power of Imagination. That's not how anything works human."
Wow, that was fascinating.
I feel like this word, Wow, should be replaced with the word, Well. Not sure why.

She gave me a flat stare. "Give me more."
Only thing Amy is missing is narrowed eyes and forward pointing cat ears.

Weird, would have thought Panacea's power ran into more crystal beings.

Koala sheep provoked some mutter about impossible DNA mix.
When two spirits like each other very much they dot dot dot which results in blank and the may lead to [censored], but after some time in development a new being emerges.
energy field similar to Olky
Speaking of Olky, I'm slowly doing the bounty on the omake interview. It might be ready in a couple of days.

Also, thinking about the heart reminds me of this old report.
www.sciencenews.org

A new 3-D map illuminates the 'little brain' within the heart

Microscopy and genetic studies yield a comprehensive map of the nerve cells found in the heart of a rat.

So TL: DR Humans have an unusual amount of neuron cells in the human heart as discovered by Dr.Amour in 1991( yes, I know Armour= Protective gear or Love in Spanish if pronounced as amor, lol coincidence). We're not sure of the full purpose of this many cells, but we're learning as late as 2020 about it.

But if in-universe if powers are connected to a neuron cells, as seen with the corona pollentia, then we can muddy the water if it happens to be connected to the neurons in Alex's heart.

Honestly for 100 points the powers we do not currently possess and no I'm not including 50's or 0's. That would just make me say gain 100 points is the top choice, and all other 0's following behind.

Strategist: Because he needs this.
Random Summoning: Summon God for a day
Animals Language: Nice to know what the animals know.
Controlled Reproduction: breeding programs start.
Mental Realm: I would like the summons to have a continuous system of awareness and not to be blinked from one fight to the next. That would wear anyone's soul.
Perfect Teamwork and Friendly Fire: Working together is important.

Is Horizon Zero Dawn released so we can get more robot animals here?

Interview with a Elf by RookDeSuit
Evening News

Meeting Location: Room XY; The Rig, Brockton Bay
Time: 9:00 pm
Room XY's camera pans to one Dr. Iris seated at table with pens, and Interviewee is seated across from her. The interviewee stands at 1 meter of height but is currently sitting on a stool. Alternative seating was offered and denied by interviewee.

Dr.Iris: Hello, my name is Dr. Iris. What's your name?

Olky: Is'mm 'Olky. [Interviewee self-identifies with designation, Olky]

Dr.Iris: Alright, so Olky you are aware of the purpose of our meeting?

Olky: Youz wanted to ask Olky abaut where Olky from?

Dr. Iris: Yes exactly. So how about….what do you see as your ideal place to relax?

Olky; An ordered home, Madam! [Subject Olky sits up straighter and more confident at this declaration.]

Dr. Iris: Interesting, so would you envision it as a dry, but warm place or a cooler Mediterranean weather?

Olky: Hmm, Olky fine with either. Oh! Can't hav' a leaky roof. Would be dreadful at Winter. Water inside and dripping to the floor. Ruining all the linens.

Dr.Iris: You don't envision snow for the winter?

Olky: Ugh, pardon but Olky stay inside and tend to the coals. Outside is not proper for true short worker, as I. [Tone is more teasing and playful than outright disgust.]

Dr.Iris: Interesting, and you mention linens, but your current attire-

Olky: Say no more. Ups, pardon; Olky is changing uniforms soon. Have to represent, right proper.[The only event of spontaneous action]

Dr. Iris: Right, right. So it sounds like you prefer to be inside as opposed to outside. Any particular reason? Does the wildlife have powers like you do?

Olky: Hmm…. well some do. The worst is the birds. Snatch you whole they do, or just bad company like the sea gulls. Would not invite for brunch or supper, let alone at a car park.

Dr. Iris: Really, what about humans?

Olky: Yes'm. There is humans, and yes, some haz powers.

Dr. Iris: AH, beat me to it. Any particular reason or..?

Olky: It seem 'o make sense, it did. Iris is curious.

Dr. Iris: Well, with only Earth Aleph as confirmation, a person can't help, but be curious. So! Earth Bet has 'had,' powers for about forty years, so how about your world?

Olky: It's been some hundred of years give or take fifty. At least more than memory as it's always been that way.

Iris: So how on Earth does governance look like?

Olky: Don't rightly know, but housework is always available. If the prime ministers and ministries fail then there'd be no houses.[Subject scoffs at the idea] All ruin and fighting and with humans being silly and nothing to do.

Iris: So you live in a society then? It does sound like a normal civilization, so is there any art? What about sports? Any preference for yourself?

Olky: Yes, and they got them moving pictures like here. Not particularly. Heard Quidditch a spot of fun. Olky would rather work the booths at the stadiums.

Iris: Quidditch being?

[At this, Olky can be seen blush at what appears to be an oversight of common knowledge]
Olky: Pardon, sport for them empowered...you got two teams in the air, and they is herding flying orbs through ring posts. Get points from that or stopping the other team. Match can end early, but you need your best flier focused on the fastest ball. If not, then captains talk it out. Could end with both teams at the pub, and that's legal match end.

Iris: So wait, what does 'flight,' look like here? A harness suit? A Trump supporting the team?

Olky:[Begins arm motions] Well, its a bit like this wheeless bike. Got a long, narrow body for fast speeds and a small cushion for sitting [arms spread out as a demonstration]. Humans carry some extra when they play certain positions.

Iris; And what about the legs?

Olky: They just sorta…. wrap around the frame. Olky suppose, they can hang there, but that makes them slower.

Iris:....Extreme sports? Hmm…. [# Dr. Iris' report brings up the notion that boredom is a major concern for the functioning of civilization with parahumans. Brought up the idea of sports as an outlet as well as cultural unification.]

Olky: ? [Eyebrows raise. Unsure of Doctor's apparent realization]

Iris: Just a thought, Olky. It's a bit late to ask this, but is there a British Isles? Your accent gives it away.

Olky:[Seems to relax. #Fond memories or home?] Well, Olky, can ensure Ma'am is not called the French Isles. Serving Tea and Scones there.

Iris: Oh? No boiling hot coffee?

Olky: Boiling? Gracious noz. That'll ruin the pot. The Earl Grey needs the soak properly. You must….
[The following are extended instructions on tea preparations. They have been cut for the sake of brevity. See newly created Infographic T for information]
# Blessed be the Enlightened Tea Drinker
# Imagine; being a heretic and rejecting coffee
# Tea? Coffee? Nay! Hot Coco Gang Unite!
# Amen! Pass the marshmallows
# Stop! Delay that, and riddle me this: Water or Milk?
# What are you Nerds doing? Take it to the forums, not work.

Olky: Miss. Iris, can Olky ask a question?

Iris: Sure.

Olky:What's this credit business on about, and why's the banks not stopping it for the sake of Gold?

Iris: Ah, you see... we don't use the Gold Standard.

Olky: Then, how you buy anything? There's no gold galleons then how do you know the quid is good?

Iris: Well, it's a balance of public trust, debt, and assets. Around the 30's, it was deemed too unwieldy, so we hopped off and have been off ever since.

Olky: But…. there's nothing there. Olky no know abaut humans, but gold coin is what humans trade with, powers or no. How do banks work then?

Olky is seen leaning forward with attention and confusion.

Iris: Uh, whelp I think the bank uses a systems of loans, more specifically called investments, which when coupled with a separate system called fractional reserves results in something close to the modern banking system. Now, fractional reserves is-

Bee-beep, Bee-beep be/

Iris: Pardon Olky. Our meeting is done. ...If you want I can finish explaining how banks function.

Olky: Oh, no need Doktor. It's fine. Would Miss. Iris like Olky to send for one of the others or will that be all for today?

Iris: Oh! No thank you. You've been great, and I think I'll take my break.

Olky;[A light blush is seen at the moment of compliment] As you do. *Plop* Tap tap tap tap tap tap

Olky is seen walking from the stool before

-Fmoom-

-Vanishing outside the door.

Dr. Iris is seen on Room cameras, with her head resting on the table. The recorder picks up one last utterance before she picks her head up and bolts.

Iris:.....Libertarianism?

Brief:
Double-blind group can conclude Olky is not of Niblog's creations. Between no instance of teleportation and mild-mannered demeanor with non-Master individuals, the subject designated as Olky is judged as not a prototype Mover for an excursion outside of quarantine zone, Q4. Proposal by earlier report from Subject Beard does not pan out; Olky deemed as not a stolen tinker creation. Seemingly, well-adjusted personality implies a high level of 'programming,' or actual hand-raised upbringing. The first is deemed too costly to create wholesale for the purpose of a teleporting monster; let alone one who could hold a conversation. The second seems inaccurate or unlikely given the rags on the body. It speaks of neglect by parental figure(s) which would not result in current personality. On the other hand, a maker would want their creation to be presentable. This seems not the case. If not the creator then the Vendor would need their product to be in marketable condition. Olky's initial appearance is not marketable

Inconclusive, if Olky is truly from an alternative Earth or elaborate projection. No word yet from Panacea statement. Mild team debate on whether to label such an earth as Earth Gold or Earth Tea. Sending full interview transcript as well as the other transcripts to first think tank. Conclusions depending.

So this took forever, but still only the second of the interview bounties. C'mon guys, we can do better than that.

More importantly, I thought about copying and pasting the format of Scalpa's interview, but that struck me as boring. Instead, I opted for a 'post,' interview where people, other than Iris, have to watch the interview and think about what was discussed. It happened, but we don't see all the details. I was originally going to talk about the British Isles, and about how Compenidum's costume lines up with a local British Hero team, The Suits, but that felt like Dr. Iris was leading the conversation. Went with a meandering talk about Olky, humans and their civilization. Word of QM is he will not know the details, but he knows the broadest details. Unfortunately, Olky will also maintain the secrecy of magic, so some details don't get mentioned or reinterpreted like Wizard Brooms. My attempt at Elf-splaining.

I am concerned Olky doesn't sound British enough, but I didn't want to wait too long to post. Also, I have developed a new headcanon concerning the state of Britain and the rarely mentioned Lord Walston.

I'm back, I'll start writing the next chapter today, don't know when It will come out.
I might be able to include a little action, been a while since our last fight scene, but no promise.

Just finished 20 minutes ago. Live the quest!
Is Horizon Zero Dawn released so we can get more robot animals here?
Glad to have you join us.
Yes, HZD is include and when HZD2 comes out I'll add the new robots.
[X] Save points for later
Nope

That's an excellent question. I think would roll a d2 to determine what category to use and roll for that.
I know that a roll every chapter bother some people, and make it harder to gain higher cost creature. But that's why I include a fair number of powers to help deal with that.
In addition, I find that multiple small creatures make for a more interesting story than one big one (even If I would really love to have one too.)

That was awesome, thank you so much. Well worth the 100 bonus points.
