Poor Theo. I wonder if this is enough abandonment to cause an early trigger.... I guess it depends on his treatment by his father's goons.
That said, can't say I'm a fan of "redeem Purity" fics. She was a racist murderous a-hole, anyone who doubt that go on ahead and read the terrible things she did in canon Worm. Personally, I would say try her for her many crimes, esp. if there had already been racist-based murder involved, and send her away to some dark hole. Put her daughter into the custody of someone who was not a murderous racist. I see a bit of "Pretty Blonde White Lady" privilege here to be honest... You don't see many "redeem Skidmark" fics out there after all. In real life, who is worse... a drug dealer, or someone who had murdered on behalf of literal Nazis?
There's a lot to unpack here, Kaiden took Aster away from Max's "goons", read E88 enforcers, and left Theo behind because he would be fine? She couldn't take him with because she doesn't have super strength, but calling him the babysitter is pretty harsh in its own right. Was she just trying to hide Theo from the PRT or will she even bother to mention him when she gets out of the city?
Then there's how Theo is feeling about being taken back to Max to consider as well, he triggered in canon because of abandonment and having no immediate family left to help him, Max is still alive but he has issues with him and Aster is the safest she can be, but he was still abandoned by Kaiden who he thought cared about him. Will we see an early Golem or perhaps a new expression?
Can't wait to see next chapter and the end of the Empire.
Would Ursa aurora be capable of summoning a bear we make? Would bitch be able to boost our canines?

Concerning Purity, in that case, I'm not trying to redeem her. Like U&L she's not joining the protectorate because of lofty ideals but only because they offer protection for her and for her daughter. And while she will mostly disappear from the quest after leaving Brockton Bay, things won't be that easy for her. Her crimes are much more serious than those of U&L. In addition while she did commit a numbers of very serious crimes in the name of the Empire, unlike in Worm she didn't go into a murderous rampage, killing hundreds to try and get back her daughter because Tagg is a moronic Simurgh bomb.
As for why there are so many fics that try to redeem her, I think being the mother of a baby girl encourages authors to be more lenient with her. If "Purity" was a guy without children that left the Empire but continued to only target criminals belonging to minorities, there would be far less.

On Theo, yes she was trying to protect him. Extending the Unwritten rule to him. As for his fate, I'll put it on a spoiler box just in case because want to wait for it to be shown in the quest.
I don't have long-term plans for him yet, but I already decided that he didn't trigger when Purity left.
Ursa Aurora: No, its projection are just bear-shaped.
Bitch: Yes, if the canine is biological enough. A custom elemental shaped like a dog wouldn't be a viable target.
I'm sorry I don't know much about Ursa Aurora. I was under the impression that she just summon forcefield in the shape of bear. I'm not even sure it would be possible to distinguish between a grizzly and a brown bear like that.
Even if Alex got something like an Ursaring and she made a copy with her power, it wouldn't be any stronger than any other of her projection or with additional power.
