In terms of if Alex chooses a 300 Power Mundane Equalizing is still on the table and being able to just turn off Powers in a world of Supers is big.

How does researching a capes powers constitute as almost breaking the unwritten rules? So you're supposed to not research your potential adversaries powers? Seems like a stretch from Armsmaster that Uber and Leet wouldn't fall for.

There's a fic by @DesertChocolate A Saiyan In Brockton Bay. A scene where his character gets a peek at the sheer breathe of where the Zenkai Boost and Saiyan powers come from. That's stuck with me.
I imagine this might be something like that. Only more so. Because of literally everything in the Celestial Menagerie. And both because this'll prove that his power is truly unique and wonderous and not a Parahuman at all, but what he truly has to look forward to!
I wonder how he'll feel once he knows?

Well, now we know that it's Alex that will make the choice, and It will be tricky for me to choose for him without letting my metaknowledge come into play too much.
As for my choice, I really haven't decided. I preferred to not go searching before the result of the vote.
That said, of course, a Pokemon would have been really tempting but I probably not, the training time needed for it to reach a high enough level is a big drawback. Monster Hunter could have been cool but the really good one starts at 400 points. A custom intelligent weapon or custom transformers could be great but I'll need to roll randomly so knowing my luck I may have not to risk it. Perhaps an SCP there some cool one for 300 points.
Saying that he fought against them is a little exaggerated. He was just there when they committed a crime and he sent the Spider bot to tail them for a bit.
Yes, he was exaggerating but using an analyst skill for a long while viewing videos of a cape could help to undercover its identity. You could learn mannerism, body shape, etc...
