I think we can go new turn and then return to the doctrine votes as we have not yet reseached Duchy Engine Mysteries (0/2) and those give +1 acc for all newly designed ships so those should be researched before we design new ships(unless a lot of the fryssa's show up from the other fronts)

[X] The think-tanks of the Navy had not had their morning coffee, were a bit grumpy about the costs of some equipment and were hasty in wanting to change the highly successful Fleet Doctrine. No change to Expansion Fleet Carrier Focus.

Cutting Edge - Removes all penalties. Ship classes older than 150 years cannot be built or copied without new Equipment/Weapons being added.
Is there an exception for ships that were made using special equipment/weapons only available during faith turns?
Thule Trouble : Geneline pilots and Yeeni engineers now mandatory equipment - Effect: Increases interspecies porn production within the Glimmering Federation by 143%. :V
Can we add this to other doctrines?

Battle Fleet Carrier - Remove increased DP cost for Lances and High Tech Equipment (Teleportarium, etc.)
I think it is worth pointing out, this is the Doctrine that seems to be outright better for us only at the cost of Scouting Equipment which we don't really use that much.
Does it effect Superior Gravimetric, etc, etc?
Doubtful, Superior Gravimetric is more for turning on a dime instead of Scouting

-[X] Battle Fleet Carrier Focus - A doctrine that seeks to maintain the Federation's strength in its carrier arm while attempting to shore up certain weaknesses. Experience has shown the ability of enemies to launch lightning strikes against the core of the fleet, as such this doctrine focuses on carriers and their close escorts. To allow the fleet carriers to work heavy escorts equipped with lances for pin point accurate, responsive fire is necessary to counter threats such as the Flyssa class ships. Extreme-range voyages are a secondary concern compared to hard battles nearer to home.

However, this focus on maneuverability comes at the cost of equipment geared towards ramming and similar specialized structural reinforcement.

-[x] Carrier Battle Group Focus - Recent battles have proven that fragile carriers cannot stand alone when capital ships clash, and that current doctrine focuses insufficiently on providing proper close range protection and screens for long range carriers in favor of increasing the speed of ships that are insufficiently mobile to dodge raiders the likes of the Flyssa class. This doctrine is focused on properly escorting the Federations long ranged sword, their carriers, with specialized large combat ships equipped with powerful, accurate lance batteries and enough armor to if necessary block attacks on the carriers with their hulls.

874.M42 - Overtime-Heavy Scramble
As the discussion regarding the refinements to the current Doctrine of the Glimmering Federation's Navy intensified, one of the worst things possible happened; a minor electrical fire in the cogitators used to store the hard data gathered with literal months of combat simulations under differing paradigms.

Though the machinery itself could be swiftly restored, the data itself was lost eternally to the Great Ether, beyond the reach of even the most adept wielder of the might of the Noosphere.

This led to a swift and very overtime-heavy scramble by the various strategists, tacticians, and military thinkers, alongside retired captains, pilots, and crew personnel who advised these groups.

Thankfully, the data re-created was able to be examined in a swift manner for the various benefits and detriments of each proposed change in the Federation's Doctrine.

This resulted in the new Doctrine being:
(6-Hour Moratorium)

All Doctrines remove the Armor Penalty for Carriers and Supply Generation/Repair Equipment Discounts.

[] Carrier Battle Group Focus
Recent battles have proven that fragile carriers cannot stand alone when capital ships clash and that current doctrine focuses insufficiently on providing proper close-range protection and screens for long-range carriers in favor of increasing the speed of vessels that are insufficiently mobile to dodge raiders the likes of the Flyssa class. This doctrine is focused on adequately escorting the Federation's long-range sword and their carriers, with specialized large combat ships equipped with powerful, accurate lance batteries and enough armor to, if necessary, block attacks on the carriers with their hulls.
(Heavy Cruisers, Grand Cruisers, and Battleships get DP discounts on High Tech Equipment and Weapons (Artillery, Lance, Plasma, Teleportarium, etc.) and penalties on Low Tech Equipment and Weapons (Macro-Cannons, Rams, Armor, etc.).
Length/Width is one step cheaper for the same classes.
Acceleration and Shields are treated as one step cheaper for all classes.
Discounts do not reduce DP cost below 1.)

[] Crusader Fleet Carrier Focus
As the Federation has expanded and matured, we have learned that the Galaxy is full of terrors, and we must be both vigilant guardians for our own people and benevolent liberators for the oppressed, Humans and Xeno alike. Due to this, our ships have specialized for their combat roles, with front-liners pinning down enemy fleets in close-medium range while Carriers and escorts provide long-range firepower in the backline. However, this comes at the cost of equipment prioritization and supply.
(The First Weapon Type has its DP Cost halved (calculated by adding all together and then halving it), with the Second/Third/etc Weapons Type gaining an X (Base Cost) × .50 (Rounded Up) DP Cost Increase.
The First Weapon Type can be used one Weight Class higher than usual by paying the unchanged DP cost.
Weapon Types are: Projectiles, Missiles, Lances, Strikecraft, and Melee.
Removes all Equipment DP cost increases but adds a 2 DP Flat Tax (applied once) if any equipment is added.
Acceleration and Shields are treated as one step cheaper for all classes.
Discounts do not reduce DP cost below 1.)

[] Battle Fleet Carrier Focus
A doctrine that seeks to maintain the Federation's strength in its carrier arm while attempting to shore up specific weaknesses. Experience has shown the ability of enemies to launch lightning strikes against the core of the fleet; as such, this doctrine focuses on carriers and their close escorts. To allow the fleet carriers to work heavy escorts equipped with lances for pinpoint accuracy, responsive fire is necessary to counter threats such as the Flyssa class ships. Extreme-range voyages are a secondary concern compared to brutal battles nearer to home.
(Remove increased DP cost for Lances and High Tech Equipment (Teleportarium, etc.).
Acceleration and Shields are treated as one step cheaper for all classes.
Discounts do not reduce DP cost below 1.)

[] Skirmish Carrier Focus
A doctrine that follows the reasoning of exploiting the enemies' weakness without diverging too far from our own strengths. As such, the Glimmering Federation's new constructions will focus on long-range combat, using strike-craft and other long-range weaponry to exact a heavy toll upon the enemy before the battle lines close and maintaining superior speed and maneuverability to control the range. However, this focus on maneuverability comes at a higher cost for structural reinforcement.
(Reduces cost of all Prow Lances/Artillery and enhances their effects.
Removes DP Penalties of Lances.
Increases cost to increase the length/width of ships by 100% each step.
Acceleration and Shields are treated as one step cheaper for all classes.
Discounts do not reduce DP cost below 1.)

[] Barrage Carrier Focus
A doctrine that seeks to support the Federation's main strength of carrier attacks by officially endorsing the long-standing but unofficial practice of supplementing them with large-scale missile support. Production lines for sufficient weaponry are prioritized over heavy armoring and close in boarding/ramming equipment.
(Reduces the cost of all Missile Equipments by 1 DP.
Increase Non-Missile (Hangars excluded) DP costs by 1.
Sharply reduces the Weapon Cramming penalties/point of application for Missiles.
All Missile Weapons can now be mounted on one Weight Class lower than stated.
Acceleration and Shields are treated as one step cheaper for all classes.
Discounts do not reduce DP cost below 1.)

[] Cutting Edge Carrier Focus
A doctrine that seeks to further expand on the Federation's technological advantages, the Cutting Edge focus aims to endorse the current practice of heavily focusing ship designs on specific weapons and the advanced equipment needed to support them rather than the sheer weight of tubes.
(Removes all penalties.
Ship classes older than 150 years cannot be built or copied without new Equipment/Weapons being added.
Acceleration and Shields are treated as one step cheaper for all classes.
Discounts do not reduce DP cost below 1.)

[-] Thule Trouble
Veteran Pilot Gene-Lines and Yeeni Auxiliary Engineer Division are now mandatory equipment for all ships.
(Increases interspecies porn production within the Glimmering Federation by 143%.
Acceleration and Shields are treated as one step cheaper for all classes.
Discounts do not reduce DP cost below 1.)

[-] Anti Rotary Carrier Focus
(All weaponry discounted by 1 DP.
Autoloaders will be ritually burned at a stake.
Acceleration and Shields are treated as one step cheaper for all classes.
Discounts do not reduce DP cost below 1.)

Alongside this rather unfortunate event, another fortunate thing happened! The plaques, long ordered and long delayed, for the Federation's Navy and its Command Structures have finally arrived after a long delay, swiftly completing the changes in the names of both!

Please. I need to call them something that isn't blander than wheat:
[] (Write-In Federation Navy Name)
[] (Write-In Federation Navy Command Name. I've been using High Command.)

Do Rotary Cannons count as High or Low Tech? They are Macro-Cannons but they're explicitly higher tech Macro-Cannons then the Imperium normally uses.
Utterly inexcusable. May Dog curse you with no dog pets for eternity.
Utter cruelty.

So, let us make a comparison to try to think here:

[] [Heavy Cruiser] Ace Class Strikecraft Carrier
-[] Sketch (Purely Optional)
-[] Length
- 5.000
-[] Width - 800
-[] Acceleration - 3 Gravities
-[] Armor - Thin Bulwark Hull
-[] Shields - Three Lattices (1 DP)
-[] Weapons: 2x Mixed Heavy Hanger/ 2x Mixed Medium Hangar, 1x Bomber Medium Hanger (9 DP, 132 Fighters, 96 Bombers)
-Equipment - Strict Pilot Training/Veteran Pilot Gene-Lines/Handpicked Pilots/Automated Fighter Re-Arming Procedures/Armored Lifepods/Superior Gravimetric Engine Calculations/Ship Shrines/N'Nonmiton Squadron (18 DP total)
This is the "Ace Class" under the current doctrine.

Under Carrier Battle Group, this would cost 1 DP more for the Armored Lifepods, would save 1 DP via the armor, and 2 DP via the Length/Width adjustments, meaning a net of 2 DP that could presumably be put into... maybe better armor? We would lack the Lattice/etc equipment, but that was always kinda missing.

Crusader Fleet Doctrine would save 4 DP on Weapons, 1 DP via the armor (that's common across all of them), and then 2 DP flat cost for the Equipment. Three DP left over, though to note that flat 2 DP cost is ruinous for smaller ships, with the Libra-Q taking a haircut along with... everything below it too.

[] Battle Fleet Carrier Focus would save 1 DP on the armor, and that's it. It doesn't really interact with the Strikecraft Carriers that much... but it also is pretty neutral in that it's mostly just all upsides in exchange for them being more modest.

Skirmish Carrier wouldn't touch the Ace Carriers, but would... wait, does it reduce the 'white' level for the sizes?

Cutting Edge seems... odd.

It also removes all DP cost for equipment so autoloaders and Pure Lenses will be 1 DP making it less bad for the small craft then feared at first glance.
But i agree this Focus works best with large ship with a lot of weapons
