Oh huh we found a world engine…great! Hahahaha!

Either way take that shipwright offer for that extra action point we need it!

It's also another subtle way for us to flex. What for them is a massive outlay of industry, is for us just a relatively small percentage of our total hypothetical output.

Also @HeroCooky , our damaged ships have been repaired by now? God, we're probably close to Necrons in terms of strategic zombie level performance in the navy.

How are we doing in the ground war by the way? There should be a massive quality and equipment mismatch between us and the Duchy's ground forces, but they've surprised us before.

EDIT: One final question! Have our Chamleons fanned out to ensure we get advanced warning if the Free Duchy starts mobilizing to attack somewhere? Do we have reason to believe they might be able to listen in on our astrotelepathy transmission or are we encrypting ours as a matter of course?

Anyway, does anyone recall what hte actual formula is for SBG => action cost?

Because we can redefine our SBG's / add special task forces, and we'd be fools not to do it?

Hmmm, actually I got an idea. We could try putting off the Duchy Engine Mysteries this turn since there is the possibility that the Shipwreck studies will allow us to get a discount on the other Research.

Your regular reminder that research and other bonuses do not apply until the turn after, and we want to roll out our mods ASAP. Especially the engine bonus, just a shame that Phalanx is still a bit out.

Anything that unlocks major equipment upgrades should probably be done ASAP, we can slow roll stuff that is more situational.

Hmm for now I think we can hold off on the homing mines. From the look of it they are not gathering their ships for round 2 and have kind of...for lack of a better term abandoned a lot of planets? Like maybe it's me but it's looking kinda open season(not that's we'd do that this soon)

They panicked and left unimportant planets behind and if nothing bad happens in next 10 or so years they will start sending retribution fleets.
It's basically imperial SOP.

Anyway, here's some ideas for SBG redefinitions.

We now have 70 FP/Turn, which means that we get 70 FP per half action.
This means that the following are possible.

Special Tactical Divisions

Stealth Assault Division (Cost : 0.5)
Contains : 38 Stealth Scout Destroyers (Example : Loyalties Bloom) + 4 Light Cruiser Conveyors (Example : Andromeda)

Infiltration Division (0.5)
Contains : 11 Stealth Frigates (Chamleon), 9 Scout Destroyers (Examply : Pyxis), 2 Light Cruiser Conveyors

Auxilary Carrier Swarm (1)
Contains : 9 Carrier Escort Frigates (Sagitarrius), 11Carriers (Libra Quartus)

SBG Rationalization Idea 1
3 Andromeda's, 4 Heavy Cruisers, 10 Carriers, 10 Light Cruisers, 6 Carrier Escort Frigates (Sagitarrius)

SBG Rationalization Idea 2
3 Andromeda's, 6 Heavy Cruisers, 13 Carriers, 11 Carrier Escort Frigates (Sagitarrius)

SBG calculator

Little calculator I made, don't break it.

Yeah

But it only worked for the imperium because sheer size and endless manpower

They can trade land and blood for time to prepare a counter

The duchy cant, and they lost 80% of their manpower plus incredibly rare and resource intensive psy ships along being besieged from other fronts

They can still hurts us,but they will not recover from this even if we were to lose and retreat

We could use some Scouts, current effectiveness is abysmal.

Are they aware of that fact and if so do they acknowledge it?

[ ] Plan: Prepare for next generation heavy cruiser
-[] [Shipwright's Alliance Trade Deal] Take the deal.
-[] [Military] Fill Out Sector Battle Group
--[] Gryphon (0/2) x2
---[] replace all scorpio's with bloody Sunset cruisers
-[] [Military] Anti-Piracy Patrol - (Leviathan )
-[] [General] Research:
--[] Duchy Engine Mysteries (0/2) x2
--[] Burner Seeker Mines and Rotary Plasma-Macro Cannons(free)
--[] Free Duchy Shipwreck And Battle Studies
-[] swap automated production to the Resurgence Mk.2-Class Torpedo Hunter

I want the new engine design so we can start designing new ships with it next turn, i want to upgrade one of the HC's rotary guns to the plasma version version as the difference is described as:
These Macro-Cannons use plasma-based propulsion to deliver their munitions faster, over longer distances, and more accurately.
they might not need the range boost often but the faster shells are also harder to evade.

So, how does this interact with SBG style building
It takes those points and you can't use them this Turn for your own building.
What does this 9 mean?
It was originally 9 Actions, but was reduced to 6 due to Action investments.
Would military industry count towards the military actions or is it still general like it's parent action?
No. Only [Military] Actions count.
I assume that re-evaluating our naval design doctrine would be Military, @HeroCooky ?
Yes.
@HeroCooky

Two questions.

Have the Choirs we gave to the Alliance for a limited time came back?

Also, if we take the deal does the extra action apply to this turn or the next?
Thanks for reminding me, added them back.

It comes now.
How many SBG worth of defense do we get per AP?
One.
@HeroCooky : Is revising our Doctrine a Free Action or a Full Action?
Free.
Also, we can fill in empty spots in our OOB by committing our large reserve of Wolves in the short term
Sure, add that to a plan.
@HeroCooky Do we know where the Duchy's capital is now that we've fully taken over one of their systems?
It's in Sector Thalassi.
It's also another subtle way for us to flex. What for them is a massive outlay of industry, is for us just a relatively small percentage of our total hypothetical output.

1. Crank that down to considerable and up to nominal. They got upgrades.
2. Well, you did yoink a massive shipyard from the Duchy, and built your ships precisely for that fast repair.
3. Bloody, slow, grinding, brutal, and crushing.
4. Yeah, they have. You've noticed them start to build up forces in the various systems around the ones you contest. Will likely send a/multiple fleet next Turn to take back what they can.

... Next turn, or this turn?

Also, how, exactly, are we struggling as hard as we are with such a gear mismatch? Is it just "Half-starved Imperial conscripts are just Innately Better than your trained professional soldiers in Storm Trooper quality gear", or is it more "They just don't stop attacking and you have to sleep at some point, and every man, woman, and child is happily suicide charging you For the Emperah and they only have to get lucky once?"

Yeah, also, @Alectai , why did you choose the SBG you did for anti-piracy, just to be clear? I was a little uncertain about that choice, but willing to talk to you about the logic therein.

I explained it, didn't I?

It's because Minotaur has no Sagitarrius-class ships and no otherwise significiant vessels, which will be valuable in a defensive battle.

@HeroCooky

-[] Free Duchy Shipwreck And Battle Studies
(Gain: Information, and perhaps equipment?)

Is this action supposed to still be there as we got the psytech it unlocked already.
