[] Taurus-secundus (Taurus-S) Class Troopship

hmm, Going to be honest, I REALLY want our troop transport to have Medical Deployment Division. Between Setting aside the benefits our own armies would gain from having such a heavy medic presence when some of our foes include the god of Plague and Drukari infamous for their poisons and flesh craft, We keep ending up having to deal with refugee's or planetary populations that are in horrid conditions. I feel like By including the Medical deployment division ON the troopship we can gain a lot of benefit in the long run between our own reduced causalities and the fact that medical attention for any refugee or imperial population is already ON the taurus.
I feel like it can stand to be Less of a Warship, and lean harder into being a troop transport.

2x Medium Mixed Hangar
Just saying, it would be more efficient to do 1xFighter/1xBomber instead of 2 Mixed since we'd get an extra squadron of Fighters that way. Though personally I would prefer if we went with 1xMixed/1xBomber since bombers would be of greater help on the ground and it would make it a nice 3/3/3 for the strike craft complement

Also, regarding turn 55, I believe you're thinking about it the wrong way. What if it's not just giving us a fourth action? what if it's gonna give us a Faith Turn?

5 DP is not "Basic medical services". That's a top notch no shit industrial scale medical system capable of serving as an entire planet's sole source of medical care.

That's outside the scope of a Frigate, I think. I'd put that on a dedicated logistics ship that does nothing else, not what amounts to being a single-role light voidship.

If we get a Faith Turn, we are absolutely rolling out the Pegasus-class, and I will fight anyone who tries to tell me otherwise.

(The other options should be Psykana I think. Fire, Protection, The Sun, and Humanity put us within a stone's throw of getting the top tier versions of our Navigation and Warp Travel Songs--just need to bring The Home and Unity up. Might also make The Sun something we can use without costing us a Choir)

We could also update the Aries. Last time we had like 7DP, now we have 16 DP and higher base stats.

I mean, You have a Large troop compartment, That feels pretty big for a frigate to.

Also, Its called out as serving planetary refugee's, Between the fact we are getting in bigger and bigger wars, and How we keep integrating Giant, Imperial population sized refugee crisis, Have something like that built into our lander would be great for minimizing our issues.

more importantly, Where else are we going to put it? Putting it into the taurus now means its 1 action and going forward we would have superior medical coverage for the amount of expanding we are doing, Th alternative is what? Trying to fit it into our action economy to make a Heavy cruiser/Mass conveyor equivalent dedicated to doing the Conversion priests and medical deployment? We don't have the actions or attention span to roll tht out.

The problem is that 5 DP is over a quarter of the entire budget of the ship, for something that sort of pivots away from its primary role. I can't advocate for it in light of that. Especially since it would come at the cost of the ship's Actual Job.

If you want a dedicated hospital ship, it should be designed with that as the mission from the get-go, not bolted on as an aftermarket mod. Given that again, Over a quarter of the budget on that one Component.

We're kind of hitting Diminishing Returns for how much performance we can get out of a Destroyer.
Still, there are uses for Destroyers and it's said that the Aries-S as is can out gun a Sword-class frigate. Imagine if we could make it more durable and have more guns? Like maybe also slap on those torpedoes that have shields and are really good at tracking targets?

I guess it's something to think of, but in this case, I think the balance is in favor of a heavy Psykana push, because each one is double effect in that case, and we've got a lot of Psykana to work on.

And honestly, I'm pretty hyped for the Pegasus-class too. So it'd be a tough sell.

Can't we use the faith turn to make a really cool light cruiser instead? That seems to be about where the equilibrium of our fleet is going to hang out looking forward.

Yeah, if we do want a dedicated civilian service ship, we could just make it a LC which is a lot easier to make than a HC.

We'll just have to see about that. Not like we'll be waiting for much longer anyways.

make The Sun something we can use without costing us a Choir
You already can? I've answered this before; it only turns a Choir into living charcoal in the shape of a human (or Kil'drabi) when used, with only about six decades of healing, physical therapy, and full-body augmentation required to get back up to shape.

It doesn't kill a Choir when used. If that was the case, they wouldn't use it.

I mean, same difference for all intents and purposes :p But point taken.

That being said, higher ranks in a Melody also do come with greater control too, I think?

I think the upgrades we have mean the hospital/logistics ships are likely to be destroyers. No guns and lower defenses means it can easily fit the hospital and the missionaries and the small manufactory.

They cost literally 1/3 of an action to design and 1/12th of an action to build. Then we have maximum modularity for getting them into the right places.

For example, we have 6 FP - we can design a hospital/missionary/manufactory ship & the super Taurus, then just put one or two in every time we build ships.

Voting seems to be open but I'm guessing we're all waiting for The Laurent to start us off? Hope you guys don't mind another design upload from me in the meantime.

Coming from the think tank of the Colbalt Terrapin Works is its concept line of missile brawlers.

[] Canis Major Heavy Missile Cruiser (v.2.2)
-[] Length - 4600 Meters (+1)
-[] Width - 600 Meters (+1)
-[] Acceleration - 3 Gravities (-1)
-[] Armor - Thick Triple Hull
-[] Shields - One Lattice
-[] Weapons - 1x Medium Fighter Hangars/1x Super-Heavy Missile Battery, 2x Medium Missile Batteries/1x Anti-Voidcraft Defenses (-11)
-[] Equipment - Armored Lifepods/Lattice Hulls/Swarm Missiles/Auto-Loaders/Macross Missile Massacres/Strict Pilot Training/Superior Gravimetric Engine Calculations/Veteran Pilot Genelines/Yeeni Auxiliary Engineer Division/Internal Security Systems (-18)
A/N:
Renamed my line of missile boats to be dog-themed since @Alectai claimed cats for his Leo. I was able to shove an auto-loader into this thing so it can fire off *even moar* missiles (now equivalent to 13.5 SH missiles and 27 med missiles). I also added a weapons slot for the new PD as well as some internal security as these ships will be in the thick of things and needs all the help it can get to repel enemy boarders. I left off the radiation hardening since it *should* be armored enough to mostly ignore rad damage.

[] Canis Minor Light Missile Cruiser (v.1.2)
-[] Length - 3.800 Meters (+1)
-[] Width - 450 Meters (+1)
-[] Acceleration - 5 Gravities (-1)
-[] Armor - Thin Double Hull
-[] Shields - Three Arrays
-[] Weapons - 1x Medium Fighter Hanger/1x Heavy Missile Battery/2x Medium Missiles Batteries/1x Anti-Voidcraft Defenses (-9)
-[] Equipment - Armored Life Pods/Strict Pilot Training/Veteran Pilot Gene-Lines/Swarm Missiles/Internal Security Systems/Superior Gravimetric Engine Calculations/Lattice Hulls/Auto-Loader/Anti-Radiation Hardening/Macross Missile Massacres (-14)
A/N:
The more economical choice for our fleets currently. Follows similar principles to the Canis Major, but I added the radiation hardening since the armor is thinner.

Crux-Tertium (T) Class Heavy Frigate
-Length - 1.800m (+1)
-Width - 500m
-Acceleration - 7 Gravities
-Armor - Medium Double Hull (-2)
-Shields - One Array
-Weapons - 4x80m Torpedos/2x Medium Missile Batteries/1x Anti-Voidcraft Defenses (-8)
-Equipment - Missile Swarms/Lattice Hulls/Armored Life Pods/Superior Gravimetric Engine Calculations/Macross Missile Massacres/Internal Security Systems/Anti-Radiation Hardening (-9)
A/N:
My proposal for a fairly major update to the Crux. Was able to fit it with Macross Missile Massacres -sextupling its firepower- but sadly couldn't quite fit in auto-loaders in due to the PD weapon slot plus radiation hardening and internal security which were slightly higher priority for the light brawler.

Do the upgraded Melodies affect the Songs they are part of or do we need to sing a new one? If it is the second we may need to invest in that one day.

[X] The Fifth Droman Convention's Guidelines on Interstellar Faith
-[X] Instructions to the Faithful of Lands Under The Light of the Star Child
--[X] To spread the faith is a holy duty, and the creation of Proselytizing Orders is to be encouraged and the gathering of the faithful, the donation of charity to be passed out among the unfortunate of other lands is to be encouraged--through the means of the Faith--and missionaries both covert and open, as the situation necessitates, are to be sent.
--[X] It is the duty of such missionaries not merely to impose their faith upon others, but to offer a hand thus that others may be raised up, such that the Church in all these worlds and systems might stand on its own, led and directed primarily by Native forces in the fullness of time, such that it is in no wise merely a project of "a few devout from Droma" as one wag put it.
--[X] The Federation is to provide such material support as is necessary for the establishment of these churches, within reason, and is to be willing to see and receive non-voting Delegates/Seats into the Council for special sessions to express their fears, request aid whether military, diplomatic, medical, or financial in nature among other things, and to see just what it is to be part of the Federation. These members may not, no matter how established a church is in a system that does not follow the Star Child, have voting powers... but should these worlds rise to glory and prosperity under the Star Child, they could of course become part of the Faith.
--[X] To act in the name of galactic liberty is a high burden, but also a blessing, and so the government while it should not at every turn seek war, it must at every turn understand the oppression that others groan under... and the means by which this can be alleviated, therefore not ruling out military invasion, a supply of military support, or more... SHOULD IT BE APPROPRIATE. But on the other hand, not ruling out that the simple application of diplomacy, preaching, or financial and medical aid against lack can also be valuable. Indeed, one might also add that Orders that seek to minister to the sick might be especially useful on lands where they do not care for the lives of their people as we do.
--[X] Let us remember the ancient creed, spoken hundreds of years ago in a much older council: "Rebellion to Tyrants is Obedience to the Five." Let us remember that, "The chains that are broken can be forged into weapons of liberty." Let us remember that, "The evils that are built up over many centuries can, through the power of love and the pious spirit, backed by the natural following of oppressed souls, be cast down in a single glorious shove" should the time come and be right. Let us meditate then on the nature of this duty, and on its solemn truth.
-[X] Instructions to the Faithful of Other Lands
--[X] 1. Your faith is to be ironclad, and you are not to hide what it is. The Star Child theology disdains to pretend to worship only the Emperor, though the membership lists and other such things can of course be secret or hidden. But the Church must recruit none through false pretenses, and if it is to be secret and hidden, it is to do so not through luring worshipers of something that is untrue, though lies to corrupt authorities are no lies at all.
--[X] 2. When you meet false brethen, followers of Chaos, and others who seek to take the Star Child's name in vain, "rebuke them sharply" and do not allow them to drag the Star Child's name down.
--[X] 3. The Faith of these lands must minister to the commoner as much, if not more so, than the noble, making itself understood. Moreover its propaganda, hagiography, and other messages must be fundamentally understandable to the grasping that these people are one-fifth of the Godhead, the Body of Faith incarnate, part of something greater. Moreover, it is necessary to strike out not only against Chaos, or against the corruption of nobles, but against all evils, and all helpers of evils.
--[X] 4. The organization must remain tested and strong in those hostile areas. Those who advocate for syncretism with Chaos or the Imperial Worship of a fifth of the Godhead and nothing else (the Emperor), are not to be trusted in positions of high leadership.
--[X] 5. In those lands where you are legal, you should nonetheless know that the tolerance of others might lapse, and must have ready the means by which to go underground in the face of persecution and martydom, and on the other side be ready to seize the public daylight in a repressive situation should the boot soften.
--[X] 6. A "particularly marked and clear" stance must be made against all forms of social chauvinism and bigotry. The hatred of women or men, of mutants beyond their forbiddence from reproducing, from all manner of people augmented, of those of some lesser caste or class, of those from another planet, of those who are disabled, of those who are sick, of those who once partook of evil actions but have repented honestly, of those who are forced by poverty and desperation into folly, and more... are to be wholly and fully rejected.
--[X] 7. Every church that wishes to be part of the Star Child faith and receieve funding much minister widely and broadly, and must reject the societal excuses for this or that evil. There are no 'unique conditions' that justify slavery, or make one kind of oppression therefore glorious.
--[X] 8. The churches must operate on the principles of democracy, the will of the faithful combined whether to affirm or deny leadership, whether to affirm or acclaim deeds, whether to affirm or state clearly righteous action and righteous thought combined.
--[X] 9. For decisions of larger import, that is to say involving the future of the faith on the planet in a larger sense, they must bind and consider themselves a part of the 'Whole Faith' and listen to the choices of the larger faith and keep them in mind.
--[X] 10. It is the duty of the Church, in ministering to all, to speak to those working in factories, those working the land, and especially to make clear their dedication to the conversion and Ministering ESPECIALLY towards the army, whether this is deemed legal or illegal, for in the face of evil the necessity of resistance cannot be fully denied.
--[X] 11. These churches are to seek greater rights, and for that matter greater rites, by what means are necessary. Violence in the name of ending oppression is always justified should it keep within the bounds of reason, for is it not that the Omnissiah is part of the Five as well? If one can achieve one's ends through peace, they are to be achieved through peace, but the Faith's ultimate goal is to save the galaxy, or as much of it as they can.
--[X] 12. In the event of war or conflict between "their" system and the Federation, it is the duty of those believers to do what they can, whether sabotage, protest, hiding or refusing to be drafted, or if the situation warrants it and it seems possible revolt, to aim to lead to the victory of Righteous Forces.
-[X] Closing Benediction
--[X] Let us then, we who were Lost but have been Found, we whose parents and grandparents were slaves but who are now Free, we who were Sick with the corruption and hatred of Imperial Systems, or Other Systems, but now Breath Healthy air, we who were fooled or may have been fooled by the false "Hope" granted by insidious forces of Chaos but now know real Hope and possibility, we who war not for the love of blood but for the love of peace, pray in the name of the Emperor-and-Omnissiah, the Motive Force, the Body of the Faith and the Star Child, that all evils shall pass away, that with each lantern we forge in the darkness we beat it back, until a million million million stars glow with light that is infnite in its diversity, and yet united in its Faith, and then shall we dwell happily and productively, learning and growing and prospering without end, forever and ever unto the ends of the universe, amen!
