Magos Domina T-A A2B/G3B rebooted again, her mind slowly connecting itself to her various holy implants and blessed augments, flesh turned sacred machine responding once more to her animus. At the same time, the flow of the Noosphere returned to her, telling her all she needed to know about the result of the battle, thanks to her efficient subordinates-She shot up in the repair station she had been lain within, limbs buzzing with sudden panic before her implants could regulate her organic chemicals.
They lost the Nova Cannon.
Correction. The Nova Cannon can be salvaged. They lost the Gothic. She calmed down, reading more of the reports as she heeded the neutral calls for calm and subservience to the blessed repair rites from the attending servitors.
The losses were...within projections, if within the upper bounds, but her fleet could still destroy that of the Xeno Traitor Hereteks if required, though the data on their strike craft was doubly concerning and interesting. However, she would have a far better time in dispatching the Xeno Traitor Hereteks if she managed to get the Lamenters to cooperate and divulge the point where they were no longer useful as disposable forces. Precedence for the breaking of their unofficial truce had been established with the destruction of the 'Tenth Mark of Honor' at the hands of one of the Xeno Battle Cruiser, the fact the upper echelons of its crew had revealed themselves to be Heretics and Traitors was unimportant for this case. Yet it would be critical for the agents of the Adeptus Ministorum and the Navy once word got back.
Then she read onwards in the reports and arrived at the part where her fleet started shooting at the 'Litany of Damnation' breaking through her ship...with the Lamenters still inside, taking heavy losses thanks to the fire of her vessels.
Moments passed in utter stillness.
And then her processors began to heat up as she began to pencil in execution after execution after execution after execution after execution after execution after execution-
The Lord High Protector of Neon sent a letter to the Lamenters with the next fleet that arrived at Gathin, having already been informed by a runner ship sent back to Grabstein through Kriegar and Qulach's Forge.
It could be summed up as a man silently screaming at the actions of his subordinates (now very much dead, as pic-feeds had shown their execution during a live broadcast as ordered by Magos Domina T-A A2B/G3B for shooting His Holy Angels), the fact that there was still a massive war for Gathin Major to be fought over with support by the Lamenters Chapter now incredibly uncertain, and that he needed to pay enormous restitution after losing both a strategic asset in a ship that could carry the (by now recovered) Nova Cannon and (even though he was determined to keep it at) temporarily losing Gathin Major, while also all-but-begging the Space Marines to please not shoot them, that would be highly disruptive in their effort to keep Chaos at bay from the souls of billions, please and thank you!
As restitution, and perhaps taken with much more glee than otherwise, the letter also contained the permit to take whatever the Lamenters desired from Gathin Major, provided they would take it themselves as the planet would likely not be liberated for another nine months until a suitable task force could be shaken loose and make planetfall.
For their part, the fleet of the Glimmering Federation under K-531 took the nine months given, and a pervasive sub-text woven throughout the letter, as the timeline they had to save people, shoot Chaos, and loot the place to the bedrock before running away.
Thistle Starfog had underestimated the scale of interstellar warfare.
Not the number of ships involved; if anything, he had vastly overestimated that part, but the sheer scale of time and materials required to prosecute a war or even finish it.
Deployed with the 3rd Droman SAG, he had hoped to partake in some form of revenge against the ones that had inflicted such massive pain and suffering upon his people, even if that revenge would have only been vicariously instead of actively. Only to be disappointed and angered when it was decreed that they would aid Neon against a Chaos fleet. He had not spoken against it, but he had been angry about them helping the ones who would have killed his family for the mere act of existing.
And then he had been presented with the reason why the Federation had joined with Neon.
Bones, he would never forget the burning pits for as long as he lived. Flamers fired constantly, cycling between a dozen different troopers to keep the fire and temperature high enough to destroy even bones, with hundreds more carrying bodies in an endless chain to ever-more pits. Thousands of bodies were stacked high in excavated pits, doused in promethium, and set ablaze one after the other. The burning of the corpses in the singular factory and warehouse they had liberated or were still liberating for these past few months, had never stopped.
Most had been children, thanks to an orphanage receiving all the children of killed workers having been built here.
He was thankful beyond measure that he wasn't forced to carry the corpses; Thistle didn't believe he could shoulder that burden.
What he could shoulder was the repairs of the various Anansi damaged in the close-quarters 3-dimensional fighting, his tool-gloves seeing more use than he ever thought possible.
And the looting of the equipment they were "liberating."
Bones, he had no idea who could possibly ever need that much equipment, but if it was anyone, then it would be a galaxy-spanning empire hell-bent on killing anything but itself.
He paused, reflecting on everything he had seen within the warehouse and factory.
'Hell-bent on killing everything it could,' he corrected himself, turning his attention back on repairing the Chimera, forcing his mind to turn out the sound of distant flamers firing endlessly.

Sabotage Units will focus on raiding and disrupting the enemy with lighting raids and plundering logistics; Assault Units will punch through the enemy in weak points and sow confusion with overwhelming firepower; Engineering Units will focus on creating fortifications and using turrets, mines, and barricades; Demolition Units will be comprised out of heavy weaponry squads with plenty of explosives, from mines to rockets; and Ogryn Units will be Ogryns armored in heavy metals and armed with shields and Beatin' Sticks led by men and women with spiffy hats that will not be disobeyed. Kil'drabi Units can go into temperature enviroments Humans would require special equipment with ease. Infantry Units consist mainly of boots on the ground, while Mechanized Units are equipped with vehicles that increase mobility and durability at the cost of logistics and all-terrain capability, with Tanks allowing a myriad of armored spearheads or operations to proceed. Light Units are better for Low-Logistic scenarios, while Medium Units rely more on regular shipments yet strike a good balance between supply consumption and effectiveness, with Heavy Units reliant on solid logistics to continue working while also offering an equal force-concentration in return. A War-Pack consists out of 15 Karnivores grouped in Packs of 3 Knights each, alongside the infrastructure/logistics to support and rebuild their Knights.

Some of those questions are if it would not be beneficial if some manner of Faith Militant organization or organizations could be created, or allowed to be created, with others asking for a formal creation of Faith Orders to bolster the ranks of the soldiery with those utterly dedicated to the mission, lending strength, surety, and a bulwark against the horrors of the galaxy to all within.

[] [Faith] Psykana Of The Outside And Unknown
Though we use the Celestial Choirs to bind and tame the powers of the Warp to minimize the risks and dangers inherent in the use of the Psykana, it is folly to believe that we are the only ones who have uncovered ways to utilize the Warp amongst the galaxy, or that there is nothing to be learned from Outsiders. Likewise, though there has been currently only one example, we must also consider what to do with the Psykers of Outsiders to the Federation and how we should go about ensuring that those individuals within our Protectorates or Kin are given over or sent to us instead of being utilized in horrific, immoral, or dangerous ways if they aren't outright killed as was the fate of all Kil'drabi Psykers before they began to send them to us to be taught control or executed should they fail and become a risk to themselves and others without sending their souls to the Great Enemy.
