The cycle is good one. You do not make more Prydymar this cycle, but instead focus on the conflict in the south. In the Growth Season, you continue on the stone wall around Avawyr with the foundation of the wall being done and the only matter remaining being building it up to a respectable height, so it will keep out hostile warriors.

Otherwise, you let Bronwyn, Terwyn and Vardyn handle the affairs of the village as you focus your attention on the fighting with Sangere in the southern lands.

Rallying up the Cath Wyrs of Avawyr, you head south to assist Seryn with Sangerish raiders when they come in the Sun Season. Your brother has a similar idea as when you arrive in Bedywn with about a hundred Cath Wyrs, all two hundred of Evatine's Silver Tips show up as well.

As for Seryn, she has been preparing as she has been turning more of her Cath Wyrs into Lyltymar and continued work on the wooden wall around Bedywn, making noteworthy progress as the southern side of the village is now protected with if the north, west and east flanks are still exposed.

When the Growth Season ends and the Sangerish warriors come at the start of the Sun Season, Seryn personally takes the field, leading the entirety of the Lyltymar and the Cath Wyrs at Bedywn against the enemy with Cadyl and Wyrn assisting her along with her two Cath Wyr leaders, Merfyn and Cerwyn.

You stay back at Bedywn with the Silver Tips, ready to send the village should any of the Sangerish should make it through Seryn's warriors.

Thankfully, your worries go unfounded as Seryn is the Goddess of War and while the Sangerish outnumber her forces, eight hundred mortal warriors are no match for close to five hundred Cath Wyrs even if you did not take Seryn herself into the equation.

Seryn picks off the various Sangerish warbands one by one as since each one numbers no more than a hundred at most whilst she brings at least two hundred Cath Wyrs against each one.

Despite what you would have expected, Seryn does not kill all of the Sangerish and instead only a very few of them die as Seryn takes just shy of eight hundred prisoners.

What to do with them is of much debate. So many warriors are troublesome so a decision needs to be make sooner rather than latter, but what decision should be chosen?

You cannot just let them go as they will just come back next Sun Season. While the option to kill them in cold blood and be done with the matter is there, Seryn vigorously argues that would be a waste. Your daughter claims that if they are to die, then then some good should be done in the process and proposal sacrificing them to either Ascend the rest of her sisters or to strengthen your existing spirits further.

The other option is to send them up to Bedynn and Bedygan to repopulate Seryn's northern villages. Another eight hundred bodies would be very helpful to increasing the numbers including potentially allowing people to live in Bedygan once again.

Seryn personally argues for sacrificing them to strengthen your family, arguing that doing so will help establish local dominance even further and claiming that while she can handle having the prisoners added to her villages, she would rather not have the hassle.

Evatine is neutral on the matter, not seeing any good options available and this being a matter of picking the least bad option. Bronwyn is the opposite, viewing either option as a decent solution and willing to support whichever one is chosen.

As for you personally, you are against killing the prisoners, but that might be your personal distaste for death of people. After all, the alternative option is not going to be causing any problems for you so perhaps you are unfairly biased in the situation.

At least Cadyl has proven himself in the fighting this cycle. Seryn made sure to include her brother in every fight against the Sangerish this cycle and your son learning both how to personally fight, but also how to lead and command others as he watches Seryn direct the Cath Wyrs into battle and during the campaign.

The rest of cycle year goes good as well. The creation of more arts and crafts continues in Avawyr under Gwyn and Bronwyn with a focus on making containers for this cycle's bountiful harvest. Meanwhile your grandson, Myrlin has himself to be a talent Prydymar, able to replicate your current abilities only with a more efficient usage of energy as while he has inherited some spiritual nature from his parents, Myrlin has no where near your output and reserves of energy.

Bronwyn does make a visit to Prylake with some Avawyrish traders, deciding to meet Isorine in person. The two of them hit off great, both happy to have another female spirit to speak with as a friend and equal. And like with most things which make your wife happy, the news of Bronwyn making a new friend pleases you as well.

As for Isorine and Prylakish have been up to, the lake spirit herself has been making more Dywrymar while the Prylakish villagers have been continuing to fish as they always done whilst continuing the trading with the Avawyrish and the Evalonish that Bronwyn and Evatine have gotten them to do.

In Evalon, Evatine shifts his usual routine up a bit by having the Myrymar make iron tools instead of iron spears while he himself splits his attentions between forging more iron tools as usual, but also making some iron spears since his Myrymar are not making anymore.

Speaking of iron tools and iron spears, Evatine has made enough that by the end of the cycle that there are enough iron tools for every villager in Evalon while your brother has over a hundred iron spears left in storage even after assigning one to every Silver Tip.

Perhaps you should inquire into getting some iron tools and spears for Avawyr?

Decisions, decisions.

I don't feel particularly good about mass blood sacrifice, but they were kinda asking for it with raiding us so heavily. Plus, housing a bunch of hostile warriors in the shadow monster forest is just asking for trouble.

Is this acceptable @Oshha ?

Well, Seryn is the Goddess of War so when she personally took the field, there was only one way things was going to end, but since she critted, Seryn was able to take a lot of prisoners instead of butchering most of them. As for the Silver Tips, Evatine has spent a decade at this point on iron production so yes, he has a lot of iron spears lying around to be used.

Speaking of warriors, Evalon has two hundred Silver Tips and one hundred and twenty Myrymar while Avawyr has a hundred and ten Cath Wyrs and three dozen Prydymar not including your family members. As for Seryn's military, she has forty eight Lyltymar and four hundred and fifty Cath Wyrs, of which eight four are Lyltymar.

With the sacrificing them, it is using their life force to either Ascend your mortal daughters or to empower your current spirits with examples of the latter being getting Gwarlon a copy of another spirit's Aspect or strengthening one of his current Aspects like the Aspect of Earth or the Aspect of the Chief.

And yes, Myrlin is proving to be a first rate mage which I found terrible amusing/ironic given his name.

The plan is acceptable apart from the prisoner write-in. There is a reason I didn't give you options to send them to Avawyr or Evalon or Bedywn instead of Seryn's northern villages Avawyr cannot afford to just gain two thirds of its population in hostile warriors for various reasons such as not having enough space for them and not having the manpower to manage so many people. Plus Bronwyn has vetoed the idea due to unnecessarily risking her family and followers. As for Evalon, Evatine does not want them and refusing to take them while Seryn has spent plenty of effort of keeping them out of Bedywn to just let them go in there.

However, Gwarlon does have the Aspect of the Chief so I'm going to say that you can forced the prisoners into a village where the local spirit doesn't want them, but you have to pass a leadership test against their leadership first. And if you fail, narrative and dice rolls will determine what happens with the prisoners rather than having another place vote.

from bottom to top; left to right:
Sanger, Bedywyn, Avawyr, Evalon, Bedynn, Blawain, Bedygan, Belamour, Prylake?

Correct except for Belamour and Prylake. You got those to mixed around as Belamour is the one which got revealed in Cycle 15.

@Raichu1972
I think we should have a serious-ish discussion of the pros and cons of this choice.
Pros:
-We're likely better suited for integrating them.
-We'd gain more direct worshippers.
-They wouldn't be put up in the north where they might get killed by shadow beasts.
Cons:
-Putting all 800 in our village would strain supplies and housing, which are a bigger concern in the mountains than the lowlands.
-Possibility of a culture shock upon our own people drastically increases due to the large proportion of Sangerish.
-Sangers are from the lowlands not a mountain, so they'd need to adapt.
-Gender imbalance.
Neutral:
-Bedygan doesn't get repopulated, which means that we lose out on growth but also don't need to dedicate actions to fortifying it against shadow beasts.

If you switch your two avatar exploration actions to one visit to Evatine to ask for iron tools & one action to help build houses I'll vote for your plan, but I'd prefer to split the prisoners into half Seryn and half us.

Edit:
@Oshha
Would it be acceptable to put them in Avawyr at a reduced proportion?
How amenable would our followers be to being moved among villagers?

I want to empathise that these two options will be major problems hence why sticking them in Avawyr is a write-in option instead of being a default option and you are still having to convince Bronwyn and Terwyn to allow it.

You got Seryn for this. :V

I'm starting to feel as though blood sacrifice might be the plan tbh.
If we get more spirits in our group, that means more actions overall, which means we can settle new villages much quicker.

Just putting them in Bedygan would mean they would be under constant assault of the shadow monsters, and they might decide they would prefer facing Seryn than said shadow monsters.
They also would likely cause trouble in Evalon or Avawyr, since we are at war with their home nation.
If you can make a plan that allows us to integrate them without too much strife I will vote for it, however.

Uhh...This is a windfall and a half.
Empowerment is somewhat appealing, though personally I'm thinking more of a general dividing the spoils amongst the family instead of anything like a population spike since these dudes were hostile.

egh, I don't want more seryn-genes >.<

Actually Seryn can use her position as the Goddess of Femininity to males into females by simply giving them a blessing with a sufficient amount of Femininity in it. The Gift of the Mighty Body is only required for a cheap, easy and standardised blessing which has some benefits such as becoming sixteen, which can be good if you are elderly in age at the cost of certain things like having everyone who takes share the same genes.

Technically speaking, Seryn could give the Gift of the Mighty Body via normal blessings, but that would exclude giving them a copy of her body from when she was sixteen which is the perks and cons of the Gift of the Mighty Body at this point.

Would putting say 400 in Bedynn & 400 in Avawyr have a lower DC?

Is this acceptable?

Yes, but still expect the problems I singled out to occur if lessened.

I'm starting to feel as though blood sacrifice might be the plan tbh.

In universe, blood sacrifice is viewed as more practical while repopulation is seen as more moral as shown in the update when Seryn argues for free-ish power boosts and quick solution to any long term problems while Gwarlon objects on the grounds that killing is wrong and the deaths of people should be avoided if possible.

I'm starting to feel as though blood sacrifice might be the plan tbh.
I will sacrifice and devour other spirits but I will not touch people.
That is, unless they have taken the mercy of our resettlement package and spat upon it by rebelling/attempting to return home to their wife.

Just putting them in Bedygan would mean they would be under constant assault of the shadow monsters, and they might decide they would prefer facing Seryn than said shadow monsters.
They also would likely cause trouble in Evalon or Avawyr, since we are at war with their home nation.

Some of them would be put in Bedygan but not literally all of them.
Considering that Seryn defeated all 800 of them, the shadow monsters aren't a bigger threat.
I don't want to mess around with Evalon, Evatine is doing well enough on his own. He could maybe stand to be shaken up, but that can come when our footing is more secure.

Concerns:
-Sufficient food in Bedygan.
-Relative value of establishing a safer village v hunting the shadow beasts.
-Risks of Sanger prisoners attacking our mages.
-A bunch of angry and frightened men in a village haunted by supernatural beasts created by an angry and "dead" goddess.

@Oshha
-Would it be possible to build a bridge over the river between Bedynn and Bedygan?
-Can we bless the harvest in places where our avatar is but our shrine isn't?
-How much longer until the wall is finished?
-Do the blessings on the iron spears ever fade?
-How are the shadow beasts sustaining themselves?
-Can our magic dispel or repel them?

-The only problem with food right now is storing the surplus before it goes bad as every one of your villages minus Bedygan is producing a surplus in each harvest and in Bedygan, Seryn is already shipping enough to feed her Cath Wyrs up there.
-Seryn has already expressed a desire to built a wooden wall around Bedygan to keep out shadow monsters for when she resettles it and was going to built one there instead of at Bedwyn before the Sangerish started attacking.
-If in Bedynn and Bedygan, the only mages while be Lyltymar which are basically battle-mages and are either Cath Wyr or have similar blessings due to how Seryn's blessings work.

-Not at your current level of development.
-Currently too weak for that. A Goddess like Seryn can, but a Spirit like Gwarlon or Evatine is too weak.
-If you keep up at it with at least one action per a turn, you can finish with average rolls by Cycle 20.
-Depends on the blessing. Like with normal blessings, it can be either temporary or permanent with a low success getting the former and a high success getting the latter. Evatine has gotten good enough that he can give permanent blessings to his iron spears without needing to roll and has updated all of his spears to permanent blessings.
-You have no clue. Seryn hasn't noticed any declines or increases in their numbers, but she has only been putting minimal effort needed into dealing with them recently due to the situation down south so the current situation is a 'Seryn will look into it along with everything else regarding the situation with the shadow monsters once she has the time to deal with them'.

-A bunch of angry and frightened men in a village haunted by supernatural beasts created by an angry and "dead" goddess.
Shadow beasts are in the hills around Bedygan. The Cath Wyr aren't letting them into the village itself and even then, the shadow monsters can only get as far the outskirts before Seryn smites them from her shrine.

-Can our magic dispel or repel them?
No, but Seryn can smite them when they come to close to her shrine.

-If in Bedynn and Bedygan, the only mages while be Lyltymar which are basically battle-mages and are either Cath Wyr or have similar blessings due to how Seryn's blessings work.
Part of my plan is sending our own mages up there to help fortify the village and establish new homes.

At what point would the Prydymar be able to help finish our wall?
How old is our grandson?
How safe does Seryn feel Bedygan is?
How likely is it that Sanger will attack Bedynn/be problematic in the near future?
Does Seryn plan on finishing the wall around Bedynn before establishing one around Bedygan?
Where will Cadyl be staying, to our knowledge?

Sorry that I'm asking so many questions.

-Prydymar won't want to leave Avawyr now and especially not to go to Bedygan. Sending them would be a 'tyrannical' move on Gwarlon's part just so you know. And no, they would not be in danger as long as they stick close to a Cath Wyr or Seryn's shrine.

-They can make slow progress on their own like a couple of decades to finish it off without Gwarlon's help.
-Spiritual shenanigans means that he is thirteen despite being born four years ago.
-Keep to the core and it is safe, but the outskirts and the hills are still somewhat unsafe even if you don't really need to worry about shadow monsters when you are close to the village. She still wants to build a wooden wall to ensure the safety of the village.
-Bedynn? Not a chance. Bedywn? She and the rest of your group are certain at least some Sangerish raiders will come next turn, but whether only a few brave fools come or they come in even greater numbers in search of revenge is unknown.
-She will finish the wall around Bedywn next year and then start work on a wall around Bedygan if nothing disrupts her plans.
-Bedywn to help with the fighting and to get experienced, but Seryn has promised Bronwyn that she will send him to Bedynn if it gets too dangerous down south.

-I don't mind questions, but perhaps give them numbers so it is easier to show which one I am answering?

If we kill them we're not good people, if we take them in we have the problem of possibly establishing a minority group if we bless half of them into females or of needing to have our women marry them.

@Oshha
1. What's the expected population split that the prisoners would be put in Bedynn and Bedygan by?
2. What could our avatar do to help them settle in?
3. Are the Prydymar disinclined to leave Avawyr at all due strictly to familial ties and so forth?
4. Are Evatine's Silver Spears involved in helping kill Shadow Beasts? Do the blessed of each god tend to stay in that god's villages?
5. Have we picked up the more efficient ways our grandson is using Earth Magic? Have our other Prydymar? If they haven't, does he have enough esteem that they would be willing to learn from him without being forced to do so?

edit:
6. How do people tend to go from our village to Bedynn and Bedywn?

1) Troublemakers go to Bedygan to be under the watchful idea of the Cath Wyrs and away from the civilians. Non-troublemakers get integrated into Bedynn.
2) Not much? Help Seryn out and make things easier for her, maybe provide some blessings. With the power level difference and the distance, there is not much that Gwarlon can do which Seryn can't.
3) More at this point in time that the Avawyrish and the Evalonish will move to each other's village and the same happens with Bedywn and Bedynn due to old ties, closeness and ease of travel, but otherwise no moving between villages beyond that. You do get regular trade between Evalon, Avawyr and Prylake and limited traded with Seryn's villages.
4) No. Yes, but you have Cath Wyrs in Avawyr now and Evatine is on the verge of letting his warriors accept the blessing now that he has gotten Seryn to disassociate it with worshipping her. Silver Tips will also regular escort Evalonish traders and explorers.
5) No for the first and for the second, some have, some haven't.

[] [Prisoners] Let Seryn use them to repopulate her northern villages.

-[] [Spirit] Focus on Bolstering the Harvest
--[] [Spirit] Avawyr

--[] [Avatar] Evatine at Evalon
---[] [Avatar] 1. Ask him to provide some iron tools for Avawyr. 2. See if he'd be willing to send Silver Spears to Bedynn and Bedygan to help ease the settling in of prisoners and foster civilization.
--[] [Avatar] Seryn at Bedynn
---[] 1. Thank her for agreeing to resettle the prisoners. 2. Ask if she thinks we would be of help in fortifying Bedygan next cycle. 3. While in Bedynn, assist by casting blessings, assisting in construction, etc. 4. Think about ways traveling to Bedynn and back could be made easier.

-[] [Leadership] Harvest

Okay. I think this is my finalized vote, then.
@Oshha Is this acceptable?
