Skitterdoc 2077

My bet is on her meeting Yorinubu Arasaka at some point and bonding ...

But the point is that you are getting a boyfriend at some point whether you like it or not.
I'd really pity that poor sod.
Do you think the Astors, and by extension, the Astor-Armstrongs would expect Yorinubu Arasaka into the family.
Of course, Taylor establishing a relationship with Yorinubu Arasaka would mostly only serve to reinforce the pseudo-Victorianness that could engulf her life when she meets her alt-mother's family.

Somehow I don't believe that she would have a relationship with someone who's currently in-house over in Japan, given that Arasaka doesn't even have a single official asset in Night City at this time.

Just spiking the fuck out of the tires of the shipping thread. Not that it'll stop them, but there's not much chance for that to happen within 10 years. Afterwards maybe, but that's another story I would say.

I have terrible idea."repair" the dragoon into a mech bodygaurd/test bed by making a brain for it you know from donor scavs or maybe mrs pidegon

So i don't know if anyone say this yet but what about the Animals , you know the gang whom theme is peak human strength ?

Poor Yorinobu, his desire to right the wrongs of his father saw him become the villain. Of course him finding out his own father wanted to STEAL HIS BODY probably had him pull the trigger long before he was actually ready.

...I kinda want Taylor here to actually meet him now and become his confidant instead cause he was actually trying to do good. Poor dude.

I always blamed shit luck for Jackie's death over Yorinobu. Seriously, that was the worst possible fucking time for the robbery to happen. As for trying to kill Hanako... is the person we met in 2077 truly Hanako Arasaka? The naivity required to believe Saburo gave a shit about anyone but himself and his own power after knowing him for over a century is downright transhuman.

I'm surprised that Taylor would choose red for her nails. I would think that she would have picked up that with her normal dark wardrobe, she's now recreated the corporate colors of Arasaka.

On one hand I don't think her choice of nail color will really matter since she can literally swap the colors on a whim, so normally they will be whatever will fit with her current outfit.

On the other hand: Considering her situation, her welcome to the 12th floor, the people she brushes elbows with (Jin, Inou, Wakado* etc.) I could see it as being taken as further 'proof' of her soft rebellion.

Though could also imagine it being seen as her just getting comfortable enough to just 'Lean into or Own the Nickname'

*Counting Wakado because while she may be 'officially neutral' something like 5 of her kids are high ranking Tygers.

Well, all five of her husbands were definitively high ranking Tygers.
How many of her nine kids are members or how high up they might be is unclear. But I think it safe to assume that at least some of them are. Or were before their death.

It'd be funny for someone to notice she had work done on her nails and ask her why she decided to get that new 'ware and then Taylor goes "I have literally no idea, I just blacked out and then woke up with it."

they might not be a thing yet, giving their MO they likely started as Biotechinca deniable asset
That was never something that created the gang - the group seems to have started as just a bunch of gym nuts who started working together.

Actually as far as the gangs go in Night City in 2077, they were rather on the open side. "We pump iron and do jobs to buy iron/steroids." They didn't hide anything about themselves, they just liked to work out and fight. Rather refreshing when I compare them to the Tiger Claws and Voodoo Boys.

Biotechnica noticed this one group buying allot of it's products and decided to take advantage of them.

Likewise the Tiger Claws weren't created by Arasaka but that didn't stop them from using them as a tool. Or the 6th and Militech.

Them existing as a gang with city-wide reach right now? Not very likely. But existing as some poser/fight gang in a gym? I'd expect they were starting up right about now.

I thought the Animals were an exotics gang? I just assumed in the game they didn't want to do the different models to give people cat ears, and fox tails and stuff.

I guess in theory you could call them an Exotic gang, they do focus on Bio-changes and stay away from the cybernetic (other than skeletons and tendons).

But I believe they were referred in the lore as a combat gang. Since Exotics don't exist in 2077, according to CD Project.

Honestly you bring up a good point. They would work as Exotics. Don't know if they WOULD, but I could easily see some members being modded that way.

For someone who does not know what "Exotic" means in this context, is that a more "bio punk" flavor of the "chrome" enthusiasts? Do the different "flavors" of "transhumanity" regard each other as heretics or indifferent? Would there be other markets for those that want to be elves (including long lifespan, gracefulness) or generic old school supermen/women (like 1980s superhero physiques, being smarter and generally "better" than most humans [sort of like some portrayals of Captain America or Batman or even the "eugenic supermen" of Star Trek without the super villain insanity]).

Exotics are people who use Cyberware and Bioware to alter themselves from the human norm. For example, people literally turning themselves into humanoid animals like wolves, cats etc. But smaller changes like cat ears and tail or elf ears are also labeled Exotics.

A full body conversion, also called 'going Full-Borg', is replacing the majority of your fleshy bits with metal. An example would be Adam Smasher who is almost all machine and is basically just a brain in a mechanical suit.

Eugenics are a thing, with Biotechnica literally making tailor-made babies as a service. Anti-aging Rejuvenation treatments are also a thing but are reserved for the wealthy and powerful.

Exotics usually stick together, with Exotic fixers hiring Exotic mercs, and the same is true of Full-Borgs.

I believe that much like any other group of people, that there were all types in the community. I know that there were hate gangs who targeted exotics in the same way that some hate gangs targeted people with cybernetics - some people are just like that. Likewise I'm sure there were some Exotics who went in with the mindset of "I'm better than everyone else". But I don't believe that was the norm.

I don't actually remember what Azriel says, them sticking in their own circles. I seem to remember them just being part of the backdrop of Night City. People who wanted to change who they were, and had the money to do so. It's not like the biosculpting was super expensive - not cheap but hardly a Corpo only thing.

I know that some Poser gangs would sculpt themselves to match the theme - The Star Trek gang had Vulcans, Borg, more or less any race from the TV shows. There were some other TV themed gangs who did that as well. There were references to people looking like dwarves, elves, and the like. Hell I think there was a reference to someone who made themselves look like a Alien franchise alien.

In a city where you have the Malestrom running around - would an Alien who looks weird but otherwise acts like a normal person be that strange? At least they're not wanting to cut you up and insert parts.

In our world people tend to flock towards the same or similar crowd, that behavior would be even more deeply ingrained in a setting like CP.

Not to mention the whole fearmongering when it comes to Cyberpsychosis and the like, I suspect that most people would outright avoid Borgs and Exotics in the 'wild'.

Sure, once you get to know her, Xena the Xenomorph is a nice and polite lady, but first impressions matter and she prowls like a predator.* Plus odds are that even if your hindbrain hadn't been actively screaming at you, you'd have seen the movie.

*Due to her build, she would almost assuredly walk inhumanely even if only keep her balance, plus the whole having to be aware of her immediate surroundings due to her claws, talons and razorwhip tail etc.

The Unification war is in 2069, it is currently 2063, so 6 years to go, which would be the third story ark unless plans have changed.
Yes, but not for the first or second arcs of the story that I have semi-sketched out, which cover until the late 2060s, up until shortly before the Unification War begins.
So far we're less than a year in, but when Taylor gets into med school there are likely to be more and larger time-skips. It's also still a bit off from the whole Mox issue, '67, which happens before then as well.

Regarding exotics, way back at the start of the thread, the author said they wouldn't necessarily be keeping to just 2077/ Edgerunner stuff.
Yeah, I used to play both CP2020 [...] and a number of online text-based Cyberpunk roleplaying games years and years ago. [...] So I definitely won't be confining my take away from just CP2077 and the anime.
Actual gorilla arms would definitely be possible. CP2020 had that with exotics.
