Are we likely to send Belle on more combat adventures? Sadly for her, or perhaps happily from her perspective, we've got better people in every category. No idea what to expect from Motobud myself though. If she wasn't the one making it, I would expect some kind of Power boost, but she wouldn't modify it for fighting, so I struggle to think what else it could reasonably be.
But yeah, the relatively small progress bar compared to other personals is part of why I wanted to do tinkering in my plan. Low hanging fruit and all that.

Now I kind of want Metal to have trouble in a fight and have Eggman yelling from a mech "stop hitting my boy! Don't make me come over there". Then after Metal loses just have Eggman walking menacingly, ready to throw hands for daring to harm his machines.

Ring Reactor uses the magical power of the rings as its source and fuel, but that means you're using magic and Eggman doesn't actually know too much about what the risks of that might be. High yield with a small potential risk.
Ragnite Reactor is a more techological reactor that uses the magical compenent of ragnite as fuel. Less crazy bullshit as this is basically a nuclear reactor with a magical element instead of a nuclear one. Moderate yield with a negligible risk.

Egg Family Reunion - Shard
Shard the Metal Sonic was in… kind of a bind.
He had spent the last month learning more about the history of this new world he was in and how it was different from his own before The Shattering. Among everything else, there were no Freedom Fighters here, which meant no Secret Freedom Fighters either.
… He missed them and the others too, Nicole especially. But if any of them were anywhere, Shard didn't have a way to find them. And even if he did find them, there was no guarantee that they'd be the same versions he knew. Found that one out the hard way when he tried giving the Restoration a visit.
… It hurt, being looked at with such distrust. When he tried to get Rotor to vouch for him, the walrus had no idea what he was talking about when he brought up people and events that he should've known about. The attacks definitely didn't help his case. And if the Restoration wouldn't take him, no chance GUN would. Except maybe to turn Shard into shards to see how he ticked. Bad time to be an Eggman bot, not that there was ever a good time.
Couldn't they tell that those attacks weren't from Eggman though? Just didn't fit his style. The man liked going loud, meant he got attention. And when he stayed quiet? He wasn't nearly that clumsy.
What he had known about Eggman's actions since he got to this world didn't line up either, whether this was his version or not. Even if he had some other bases, those Zeti were going to be his first priority. They had his stuff and could control his Badniks. A threat and a punch to the ego at the same time? Yeah, Egghead wasn't going to let that one go. Building a city, sure, he probably needed some kind of base, even if he probably had at least one secret one.
The thing with the Darcsen though? Yeah, that was strange. Would piss off the Empire as a rival, sure, but there were other ways to do that. And Eggman wasn't one to take in refugees either.
Still, Shard hadn't known what to do, what his next steps should be. He tried convincing Gala to move into Restoration territory, but she was a stubborn girl. Shard didn't know if she'd actually gone or not and going back was a bad idea. Shard didn't want to put her in any more danger than he already had just by being seen near her.
And with the Restoration and GUN apparently both out, Shard couldn't exactly take the fight to Eggman alone either. Even without the rest of the Empire factoring in, Shard was not looking forward to round 2 with the Metal Sonic he fought. They were equals, or near enough, but Metal Sonic had tricks that he didn't. Shard had some moves he hadn't shown off himself, sure, but only one of them had an evil genius to hand out upgrades. Plus, if he could copy him, who's to say who else he could mimic or what the limit on that ability was?
And while Shard was thinking about that particular issue was when he got that signal from the Eggnet.

"You need not be afraid."
"You need not search endlessly for purpose."
"The Eggman Empire has returned! Come home! My Father, your creator has reclaimed this land! The world will again know the might of our Empire! Badniks the world over… Now is the time to return!"
Okay, rude. Well, alright, Shard had to admit to himself that, yeah, he probably was lost, afraid, and searching for purpose. Just a little bit. But that wasn't what caught his attention.
Shard knew about Mecha, how that whole thing went down. He doubted Eggman would be willing to try that whole 'fatherhood' song and dance again. Which meant that this Eggman couldn't be his Eggman. Not that it made him a good guy, definitely wasn't one according to the stories he'd heard from Gala.
But Shard still didn't know what was going on with the man and his operations.
… Maybe it was time to find out. Shard didn't have Harvey Who to give him orders or a team to back him up, but he was still Jack of the Secret Freedom Fighters. Maybe he'd even take the voice up on her suggestion, see what he could dig up from undercover?
…
Pffft, right. Could be a fun way to mess with the other Metal Sonic, sure, but Shard wasn't that desperate. Be a great way to get captured, reprogrammed, and turned back into a weapon. And if his friends were still out there somewhere for Eggman to get dirt on? Eggman might've liked calling Sonic a rat, but Shard sure wasn't one.
He'd have to get close to find anything though, which was risky. Riskier still is that he'd probably have to show himself here and there, make sure that Gala didn't take the heat from being found with him by Metal Sonic.
But if he did get forced into a rematch with his 'little bro?' Well, upgrades or not, power copying or not, Shard the Metal Sonic would make him work for it.
… Would be nice if he wasn't alone doing it though.
AN: In which Shard is just minding his business when he just gets a mass broadcast that said to get off his butt and get a real job.
You ever think how Shard ran off on the same turn that the false flag attacks against the Restoration began? Or how the only confirmed Archie character the Restoration has on their side is post SGW? Bad luck and bad timing.
Shard didn't have anyone to bounce off of, but I tried my best to show off his attitude in spite of that. He's got a fun attitude from what I can tell of the guy.
