I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Yeah we need to stock up for the next time, squirrel the supplies away. While the dwarven grumbling in the update says lifetime, Storms of Magic are usually once a century deals, so i kinda fervently hope that we won't have to wait more than 20 turns for the next one.

As much as i like Jreengus's axe, i also feel that it would be wasting this tremendous opportunity on neat weapon that however doesn't ultimately fit into set combo. I think, and it has been mentioned before, that Bungie had some cool ideas. Now is the time to think of the set.

Yes. None of them are mythic tier, which is as low as the Grimnir golem is gonna be goddamnit :V

If i am counting right, we probably actually cannot even make all of the stuff for the Gronti and the Gronti himself in a single turn actually so that point is moot. Nonetheless, we just don't have enough cool mats and enough forethought to make the Grimnir Gronti actually properly good.

The way overflow usually works is that there's a 'cap', set by the quality of materials/reagents/incidental bonuses used, and any overflow past that point is wasted. Given that we'd be working in the first ever Storm of Magic, upon an Arcane Fulcrum, with all of the benefits of Barak Azamar and Zhargal, I find it very, very unlikely we're going to be anywhere near the overflow cap in this instance.

And what is the difference between that cap, and no overflow+Arcane Fulcrum? Can you quantify it?
 
do we have ANY idea what equipment we need to make to complete our set? Armor and weapon is already out since we made them already.
 
One option would be to go for a Banner instead. One of Grimnir. We've got Banner Combos for ones that use the Master Runes of Grungni and Valaya. So we could go all in and try for a Grimnir combo this turn.

To give you an idea, overflow might be the difference between a high Tier-4 item and that same item being pushed into Tier 5. Barak Azamar was made with full overflow, and even that is only a low Tier-5 in comparison to some of the other Mythical items kicking around in the setting.

With the Storm of Magic, we could create something that exceeds BA; I, for one, very much don't want to waste this opportunity.

'Better' is meaningless, if you can't say how much better, and then evaluate that against the opportunity cost.

Also, might not.
It might already be a Tier-5 item with no overflows what so ever. Or it might be a Tier 4. It might also be a Tier 4 with the overflows.

No one but the GM knows.

Yes. If we are aiming for a T5 Gronti, shipping it out to war with anything less than T3-4 weapons and armour is cutting corners.

Yeah you get it. We can wait some more turns, stockpile more adamant and stuff and just ship off a mother (father?) of all Gronti. Extremely giddy at the thought.
 
The gronti has been foreshadowed, but not planned and prepared for yet, I say.

I believe Snorri would want to study this 'Storm of Magic' phenomenon properly before he considers making such a culturally significant and impactful masterwork in one.

Maybe in another couple/several centuries, when we have the ingredients prepared or the panoply planned out.

This might be a good opportunity to make the last piece of Snorri's kit, or make one of the pieces of the gronti's panoply, though. Turn it into a multi-stage project instead of doing it all in one shot.
 
Can't we make an Amulet and a Banner by dumping 4 actions in? The Stones can defend themselves for a turn.
 
Maste Rune of Grimnir, Rune of Courage and Rune of Determination
For
would be the obvious combo for the Ancestors Resolve combo or something similar.

Though we could also go with
Master Rune of Grimnir, Rune of Traversal, Rune of Stone. Grimnir wanders the Earth bringing forth its Resolve and His Call to Battle.

Research for Brain is not done. So we' have to do that first and hope that the storm happens in Snorris 1000th year and not in like his 992nd.
