On Thread Etiquette:

I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Please endeavour to be cordial. :^)

Ok, that makes more sense to me. If we can't do it entirely with favour I don't see any reason not to just spend the max amount of favour we can and then put 1 retainer action into it each turn once we have 2 free retainer actions per turn.
Yeah, that's probably okay enough if we divert some to do that while the other two actions are spent helping (by that point we should have 120 of 120 and 3 actions). I don't feel comfortable doing it when they only have the one action and it becomes a choice between helping and scouring bookshops in Ravnsvake.

That one action can just come from our retainers anyway since we'd pull up short on by one action anyway even if we spent all our favor due to needing a minimum of fifty favor to hire our tutor. Also now I'm super tempted to just spend one action and get the tutor so that he can translate all the books for us well we commission things and then after we finish those we go finish learning from him.
If that happened it'd need to be on turn 38 or so, if we stick with the idea of doing chain next turn and wrapping that line of inquiry up for now.

Personally I want to keep our plan focus on chain and other research on turns 37 and 38 and shift to alchemy after commissions, when we move into what I'm thinking of as another phase and have one more action free. If people really want to do it though we could drop Valaya's Runes on turn 38 and grab Eltharin plus one Odd Place, and all the Almanacs.

I don't want to, as mentioned, largely because our narrative is going to be clogged for twenty years with Snorri bent over his workshop cranking out armors for Valaya like a machine and various grumblings and goings. In theory the elf tutor if they remain could give variety for the updates, but I'd rather just get through those two turns and shift our overall focus to Alchemy (and other stuff related directly to it like Purification and Rune Metal) during turns 40ish to 50 so that we can have more elf goodness and other magic nonsense as the major focus for that century or so long arc.

Personally hiring the tutor is either get it done this turn in exchange for not doing the master rune or don't do it until after the commissions and we're already past the point where I consider it viable to offer up such a divergent plan or feel comfortable asking someone to change theirs so the issue is just me daydreaming anyways.

You can never have too much sure but it's about consumption we don't have any plans to use more adamant than we produce for a long time so it can sit on the back burner for a little while longer until after we finish this up coming round of commissions.

For commissions, they're being done at the last moment possible like we always do so that we can budget in maximum research to improve them with.

For research that research is set up primarily to improve the quality of our upcoming commissions although this is not the case with the Valaya Runes so people would be most amenable to be s
I see, thank you.

In that case if Valyas Runes do not help with the commission, then it seems wise to postpone them and do both commisions that much sooner.

[X] Plan Two Odd Places, One Odd Step
[X] Plan A Good Gift and Odd Places

I want to make progress and finish surveying all the locations that was one of our initial character creation perks, as well as trying to evolve Journeyman of the Odd again given how many potential actions it can contribute an AP towards, or just enhance the action in general.

My prefered option of these two is the above one as I feel with all the buffs and traits we have going, the runic combo, the materials, the equipment Snorri uses this item should be T4 easily so I'd prefer to just finish out all the Odd Place locations at once.

I wanma give Prosthetics a bit of a time to percolate throughout dwarfkind before we introduce hearing aids and artificial eyeballs.

don't want to get into a huge thing about this, but Snorri does plenty of "I made it in a short period of time" limbs as part of his general re-limbing policy for his hold. If those aren't shoddy work then a temporary set for Orra wouldn't have been shoddy work.
I think that would violate the rule of ?pride?

It would be using the runes for making a throwaway rather than art, which would be abhorrent.

So I did not see much mention of this but it's clear now that Brana are like dragons not like elves, they take on the qualities of a wind as hatchlings or eggs and are bound to it ever after, hence most of them are Azyr because that is where they live, some of them are Ghur because of how they live and the new egg is Chammon because of growing near the rational-thinking dwarfs and metal. Do you guys think they will try to attune chicks to the other winds as well? The Red wind should be pretty easy, just stick the egg near a bunch of Heartshones and hearths, but the others are harder:

Amethyst would be graves and battlefields, not really a safe place to put eggs.
White would be meditation and light... maybe a particularly sunny patch of ground.
Green... we do have fields outside they could stick a nest in?

Just want to say this is a super-intriguing line of thought.

Also, @bird yells, if you happen to feel inspired, I'd love to read about Arnfinn's reaction to Nightfeather's 'unprecedented' success.

Current prosthetics seem pretty satisfactory to me for the moment, not gonna lie.

As far as I am concerned, they are definitely not a priority compared to other research.
Well, the eyes seem particularly interesing given Orra.
@soulcake: given Snerra's intentions, could we tell her what we suspect about the runes of light and the mind of things?
We might not get to it any time soon with our backlog, but Snerra has the prerequisite knowledge (knows both forged limb and light/refraction), she has the skill, and the interest
Could we nudge her to take a look?
(just point and sniff a couple of times at the similarities between the runes and let that natural talent shine)

Current prosthetic limbs are, but we can not yet restore sight or hearing. That needs further research.

And regarding limbs who knows what lies beyond further research? Easier to make? To teach to make? Better quality of life? Cheaper?

Though it if looks like all further research in this direction would lead to is more powerful limbs like augmentation from Deus Ex then I have little desire to prioritize it.

I awaken.

No. This runs the gammut of telling your former apprentices to research stuff with the implication that you'll get the Rune through narrative fluffery, and even if the latter wasn't even in consideration from you guys it would most certainly be from the rest of the Runesmith community. Snerra's doing her own thing and if it happens it happens.

Even so, Snerra is spending much of her time building her repertoire of Runes to something approaching acceptable, though at a pace far above the average Runesmith.

Hmm, I wonder if it's consider acceptable to make our own variant of Snerra's Rhunkiklad combo, except with all three of them as Banners for the Hearthguards.
