[X]Go to Mami's

-[X] "... sigh, it probably would be for the best to rest and continue tomorrow."

You grunt in annoyance, this is very important and you can't stop just because you're-

Madoka waves at you cheerily from the doorway, and you sigh in resignation, "...it would probably be for the best if I get some rest and we finish this up tomorrow. Come on, let's take Mami home...one of us should stay there tonight, in case she wakes up."

Kyouko shrugs, "I can do that. I know her best, and it'll be nice to sleep in my old bed again..."

She blushes as Sayaka and Nanoha turn to gawk for a moment, "...w-wait, it's nothing weird. We were just roomies, okay?! She let me stay in the guest room!"

Sayaka chuckles, "...right. Sorry...just kind of came out of nowhere there, you know? I was afraid Homura might get jealous."

Nanoha just sags in defeat, giving up on dealing with the implications being thrown around. You're rather busy reminsicing, though...you remember one loop, where you moved into Mami's second "spare" bedroom. The blonde dragged you all over town shopping, before painting the walls purple and covering the place in every clock she could get her hands on.

Kyouko's, as you recall, still has a large red refrigerator and a custom stained glass window depicting their first witch-hunt together. Between that, the custom tea set she keeps in case Kyouko visits, and the fact that said refrigerator is always full of the redhead's favorites...well, it's too bad you can't possibly know that yet.

If you could, Kyouko would be matching her outfit right now.

The consequences of giving a very lonely girl a lot of money and nothing to do with it aside, you find yourself looking forward to getting there. Mami's got room for everyone, and there's plenty of space to cuddle Madoka in those oversized beds...

"You're not the only one looking forward to it, Homura-chan. An insanity-induced hallucination gets lonely without her best friend, you know?"

You smile at her, vaguely aware of Sayaka helping you to your feet and leading you out of Red Lobster. Madok reaaches over to pull some money from your wallet, paying the check in passing as you head out. You nod in thanks, and she vanishes with a wink, "See you at Mami's!"

Sayaka shakes you as you stare into space, clearly concerned, "Homura-chan? Are you...?"

You pause, staring into her eyes, and the world slowly slides back into focus around you, "...I'm fine. Thanks for the hand...here, I'll carry you from here."

You scoop her up in a princess carry before leaping off towards Mami's alongside Kyouko, who is likewise carrying the comatose blonde. You can here Nanoha's wingbeats behind you as she takes flight to keep up.

Eventually, you arrive, carrying Sayaka inside...only to drop her on the couch unceremoniously as Madoka skips down the hallway, towards your old room.

"Hey, what gives?!"

You glance down at Miki Sayaka, shrugging, and grimace as you look upon Mami's limp body in Ophelia's arms, "How's she doing?"

Koko chuckles hollowly, and it's all you can take not to wrap her in your arms at her melancholy expression, "She's fine...I guess. I'll take her to her room. You and your sidekick can head home whenever."

You glance back at your sister ("Is that truly what she is to you...?"), ignoring her scowl as you hug her without warning, "Actually, Kyouko...I think we should sleep over. It'll be fun, just like old times! We can watch some anime...I can show you Eva, so you'll be ready if another Angel pops up! Then we can-!"

Kyouko just stares, as does the vaguely draconic monstrosity that is watching from the open door...and suddenly you're in the air, and Octavia is fussing over you as she carries you towards one of the bedrooms...you're old one. She's so considerate...you hope she'll stay with you and Madoka tonight. It gets so lonely sometimes...

You land on the bed with a light oomph, grabbing on to Sayaka's arm with a giggle, and she just freezes long enough for you to pin her in. Madoka joins in, bouncing into place next to you, but eventually stops giggling long enough to stare at you seriously, "You should let Sayaka-chan go for now, Homura-chan. Mikimom will worry if she doesn't at least call home."

You sigh, nodding reluctantly as you let Sayaka go. The bluenette slips away quickly, looking panicky for some reason...you're surprised she manages to close the door that fast without catching her cape in it.

Satisfied for the moment, you curl up under the purple sheets, and doze off to the sound of all your clocks ticking around you...Madoka strokes your hair as everything fades away, and you feel at peace, at least for a little while.

Utterly bonkers.

Hm... so this is what Homura is like at ~100 Sanity and ~800 Grief. Yeah, we probably don't ever want to get this close to the edge again.

Speaking of, when Homura wakes up we're going to be around 850 Grief. We probably need to cleanse; do we even have a Seed?

1 Seed. 4 Charges. It's listed in the OP.

...Can someone slap sense into me?

I seem to be seeing Witches...

Low sanity is trippy. Lower sanity I cannot imagine being a pretty picture.

Hmm. Can I ask for a little clarification on this paragraph? Kyouko just spoke, but the last person referenced was Sayaka. So who are we glancing at that is "your sister"? (Though Madoka knows 'sister' isn't the right description for either of them.) It feels like we're probably looking at and hugging Kyouko, but I'm not sure.

Of course, low sanity and all that; maybe we're not supposed to be able to tell.

"Actually, Kyouko...I think we should sleep over. It'll be fun, just like old times!
Dropped a big ol' clue card in front of Kyouko, there. She has just enough info now that she's probably starting to have a sneaking suspicion about what Homura's power really is.

The bluenette slips away quickly, looking panicky for some reason...
Just how closely was Homura holding her? And what sort of look did Sayaka see on Homura's face?

What I wouldn't give to listen in on the conversation between Kyouko and Sayaka tonight, while Homura and Mami sleep.

As long as we're noting strange things:

Um, did our hallucinations just become actual physical manifestations? Yeah, let's never go below 150 Sanity again, 'kay?

Nah, that would be cool.

Altered perception, ever seen Fight Club? things/actions attributed to his "hallucination" are things he actually did.

Altered perception is fun.

Also Octavia is Sayaka of course.

I'm not usually a fan or perpetrator of "FTFY" posts, but... FTFY.
Yes, yes, very funny. But seriously, we've just gone from:
Status Time: 5:07:25 PM
Grief: 227/1000
Sanity: 248/1000
Stability Multiplier: 0.78
to:
Status Time: 6:45:13 PM
Grief: 795/1000
Sanity: 113/1000
Stability Multiplier: 0.83
568 Grief gain and 135 San loss (I'm not sure what's going on with that Stability multiplier; it seems to fluctuate almost randomly) in an hour and forty minutes. I'm not really sure we can count what happened as a "win" by any measure. About the only good thing that we can say is that Mami is, technically, not dead yet.

I can't remember how Homura's SAN Meter Dropped. Can Someone Refresh my Memory?
Well, first Sayaka accidentally got a glimpse of Homura's looping history with her EMIYA power.

Then Homura told her a little more. That gave us a BIG chunk of Grief, but didn't hit Sanity much.

THEN we accidentally-on-purpose Witchbombed Mami, and just barely stopped her from immediately Grief Spiraling by... I'm not sure. I think we just knocked her unconscious or snatched her Soul Gem away from her body or something. That's what knocked off a chunk of Homura's Sanity, I think, which is kind of weird because I don't think Mami going borderline should have affected her that badly..

We used Akemi Madness, which eats our sanity faster than normal

Only 20 San/hour, though; we only used it for like 5-10 minutes so we should have only lost 2-5 San. Instead we lost 135. Something really went off the rails in the Homumind.
doesn't it raise the multiplier? which grief also does? and high stress situations, like, y'know, precision witchbombing someone?
