I wonder what the combined Cenotaph/Meet the Rookies event is going to be like.

I kinda hope they bring both Ete and Joules. It would completely kill their PR in record time, but I doubt they're that stupid, so it's likely to only be some of the more minor heroes and Stockpile. Plus maybe some of the Horae Guard ? IDK.
I wonder if we're going to mention Handyman's connection to SLAYERS. They were pretty private though.
Chatelet is almost certainly going to give a speech about her cousin and gf. It could be cool if we could bring Noelle but HA had a secret identity sooo.
They have to roll for the REP hits to take effect, and you can do things to mitigate the odds of it happening.
Really hoping Chihiro will help with this.

Also I kind of want to do the audit after we get our three high-potential candidates up and ready ? To flex on them.

So, I was looking through the list of available DNA samples, and I noticed that both Apiary and Printemps have red keywords in their tags. I know that there's been some speculation on why those keywords in particular are red, but I think that I've figured it out. Those keywords signify specifically dangerous powers (or aspects of powers) in some way. Printemps' Transmutation tag came from his powerup from Scarlet Maturity, and thus it might be that anyone we gave Printemp's DNA to who received the Transmutation tag might also count as a valid target for Scarlet's "kill someone to revive me stronger" power. Meanwhile, Apiary has Matter Conversion in red, signifying that anyone who inherited that aspect of her power would share her need to convert organic material into...whatever their powers need to function. Presumably, we could make powers derived from their DNA samples by avoiding the red keywords.

If we take the Rosemary's Baby action we'll likely get rid of the Red keyword, plus some other complications.

Otherwise, we can't use Apiary's DNA even with the Red keyword because the Tolerance is too high to handle.

Printemps's Red Keyword should fade naturally: it ought to be good by next week.

I'd still be cautious of using Printemp's power on principle there, the unironic bigger bonus is that it will give us a confirmed hint on Transmutation if it goes back to the normal power. Since Transmutation in particular probably has some really interesting overlaps and synergies with Autobiokinesis.

Coincidentally, I think Giant Slayer works really well with Adamant/Soldier X/Multiplex unless trying to go with the new 5 cost in Golem, who also looks like a very solid powerset synergy due to armor and grabbing material.

Huh, if Matter Conversion is red because it has a issue like Printempt's Transmutation instead of something inherent, doesn't that mean we can make the Keyword ourselves? That seems incredibly strong.

My guess is that doing that's related to Rosemary's Baby, which might give us the synergy key to this:
five keywords?

@Bitterman, what's the largest number of keywords we'd need for a synergy? I'm curious now.
Uh, 9. But that's a special one. 5 is the normal max.

Crackpot theory time:
Anansi got got when he agreed to the terms and conditions on the Heroes for hire app.
Supporting Assumptions
The terms and conditions count as a contract for Faust's power.
Faust's power is reliant on each parties knowledge and interpratation of the contract.
The terms and conditions included the standard "we reserve the right to change any or all of these terms and conditions at any time without warning" bit.
Faust's power does not require the signatories to be informed of the nature and effects of Faust's power before signing*

Obviously this would be an extremely potent version of Faust's power except for the fact that Anansi is the only metahuman in the last (15?**) years to actually read both the terms and conditions, and the follow up email informing him that he now had to do whatever Faust said forever.

*this is the one that really makes me dubious of my own theory. Partially because he told LL how his power works at the resturant, and that's a blunder I think hes smart enough to avoid if he can. Partially because it's off theme, narratively.

** howver long heroes for hire has been around.
Still catching up, just read Aftershocks

Nah o think Apiary is red because they are still "alive"

Just caught up. Strongly enjoying this quest, wonderful writing and I love the mechanics and keyword-building for Project Prometheus. Excited to read more.

And of course, the only way to kill Third Person is to write an omake where we wring his stupid psychic neck, right?

Assuming that the DNA samples from Abarimon, Shroud and 3rd Person's missions are the result of a kill/imprison moral choice, if we kill 3rd person he might be a huge clue for Yara's super psychic build.

Wait, he possesses random people, scratch that.

Just a heads up: I've got family in town in this weekend, so updates will be a little slow. I'm sorry Issue 3 has been slow to start!

You're very much on the high end for frequent updates and written wordcount. Slowing down even a moderate amount would still put you solidly above the normal pace of most QMs.

My quests started in June and March, and you already have more than double the replies of both of them combined, oh and you also have 100k words and views already.

I know at least five people reading this right now that would fight to get this into 2024/2025 Reader's Choice. It's that good.

Basically, take all the time you need man, we know it's gonna be great.
