My Life as a Teenage Juggernaut... (Worm AU x Marvel)

The movie version of Juggs basically is wearing a Barbute, just way too open in the face, close it up more like Magneto's, and add a collar and gorget, it would look so much better
So closer to the Deadpool 2 version then (at least in shape)? Still a beefy helmet and collar, but not the "wearing a Fat Man bomb casing" of the comic version.

Uh, for the comics helmet, for the shape to work, it has to be worn by someone that bulked out

like, for it to connect to the same points as Marko on Taylor, then the dome would have roughly a foot of internal volume back to front, and around three feet side to side.

It would end up looking like half a Babybel Cheese wax wrapper sized up and stuck onto her head and shoulders

Marko is just big enough that it's somehow a complete circle

And that's not even getting into how the dome can't move, meaning to see something even slightly to the side the person wearing it would have to turn their entire body just to see

The Dome is just a stupid design entirely anyways

Something like this at least, it just looks less stupid than the Dome

They're not really any different than the movie version and most of them are red, how do they not "fit the Juggernaut theme"?
That helmet seems more inspired by and EOD Juggernaut armor suit than the Juggernaut from Marvel.

My point was that "dome shaped helmet" is what the magic creates. Has it occurred to a few people that Marko's helmet is so wide because he is so bulky? He was big and muscular before the empowerment, so of course he'd be excessively bulky afterwords. In addition to that, Taylor went from 5ft 6in or so and 120 pounds to 6ft 8in and over 300 pounds of muscle. Enough muscle that she's lost a fair bit of her range of motion. Taylor may not be as bulked up as Marko, yet, but she is pretty bulked up already. While I'd imagine the helmet's dome might not be as tall as Marko's helmet, I have no doubt that her upper torso's dimensions would make such a dome possible. Especially since there is magic involved to make it work even if it probably shouldn't.

You realize that's basically Marvel canon, right? That lack of peripheral vision is one of Juggernaut's biggest weaknesses, and why teams keep managing to remove his helmet.

Taylor isn't at Winslow anymore. The student that talked to her? Not one of the ones who bullied and/or ostracized her.

Same reply, you know she's a obvious parahuman and to ask if she's playing any sports? Assholish and asking questions that's basically none of your damn business. What's the point of the wards if it isn't to keep both sides of your life apart. Me asking a Heisman award winner who just blew out his knee training, "Well are you STILL going to be going to the Pros now?"

Lets look at it from the character's perspective. You're on the basketball team and you see this really tall and fit girl in one of your classes. Tryouts are coming up soon, so you go up to them and ask if they're interested in doing any sports, hoping to convince them to try out for your team. Then they turn you down, so you accept that and move on.

How is any of that assholish or anything in any way unacceptable.

"Tall and muscular" are not inherently an automatic sign of "has powers". Not unless someone is aware of what Taylor had looked like before getting shoved into a locker. From the descriptions, she's not unnaturally tall and muscular, unlike Marko. At least, she isn't yet. When Marko got empowered, his body basically got scaled up in proportions in every direction, making it immediately obvious due to his unnatural size in all respects. It sounds like Taylor isn't to that point, yet. But she may well get there eventually.

I vaguely recall an issue of X-Men where Cain had a second helmet, much more form fitting and mobile, under the first, exactly because people kept removing the dome. That under-heet, allowing a space for Taylornaut's h air, might look better.

That is quite possibly the ugliest Juggernaut costume I've ever seen. Didn't Cain have any self respect in that movie?
Self-respect and fashion sense are not synonymous.
if QA wants to give Taylor a helmet that actually works, whose to say she can't?
The author, that's who. Or Taylor might get the good helmet. Again, @Kryslin is the authorized author
For a 15 year old, yes that could be the case. But she's not "no human can possibly be that tall without powers" tall. Yet.
In a superhero world? She WILL be suspected of being a parahuman, even without any rumors from Winslow.

That's what he wore while in prison and I don't think Cytorrak was a thing for that version because he wasn't unstoppable. Though that may be a custom power dampener around the neck which could be why he wasn't unstoppable. All the other prisoners had power negating neckwear.

The X-Men related movies (including Deadpool 1 and 2) as I recall all ignore the mystical stuff from Marvel, in large part due to the studio not having rights to anything other then the various mutants that are part of X-Men lore. Thus the movie versions of Juggernaut aren't avatars of Strength for Cytorrak. And thus they aren't "unstoppable". The version in X-Men 3 for example can be de-powered by the mutant "cure" because he's a mutant, not Cytorrak's mystically empowered champion.

There's a reason they don't try locking Juggernaut up on The Raft in the comics... The power suppression field does jack diddly, and Juggernaut is still at his full might. They tried it once, didn't work well.

For any claiming the public doesn't know Taylor probably has 'powers', don't forget, she grew about a foot overnight, and has massively changed in overall musculature look. There is no known method of achieving this short of a biokinetic OR a trigger event. Obvious brute is obvious.

Obvious brute is obvious.

And this will be lampshaded, over and over and over...

If I can get 500K words mileage out of "Remember, thou'rt crunchy, and taste good with ketchup", imagine what I can do with "Obvious brute is obvious." Muhahahahahahahahaha!

WRT the Armor : I know what Taylornaut's armor will look like. For now, though... Sore wa himitsu desu! It's a secret!

Obvious brute is obvious, if you knew what she looked like previously. Also if you know how old she is. But a random person on the street may see her and just think "body builder, kind of tall". Gang leadership who are being fed information by Coil that was stolen strait from the PRT's computers? Yeah, they'll think "obvious brute is obvious", but then again they have the advantage of having information showing the sudden changes. People who were in Winslow and witnessed things first hand may also think that. But then again, they were kind of busy fleeing the building as it was being turned into swiss cheese.

Granted, after this there wont really be any chance at a secret identity. Not that Taylor would have been able to maintain one anyway.

It will only take couple news stories about the near 7' tall woman stopping a Squealer tank special just by standing still for her secret identity to go up in smoke.

I was referring to any of the students from Winslow that knew what Taylor looked like pre-superhuman. If any of them run into her at the mall, boardwalk, or some other public place, their jaw is gonna hit the floor. It's possible that only a few have figured out that she's the para that was chasing stalker through the school, but there have to be at least a few students that figured it out just on basic evidence of where the chase started. Lots of possibilities to build the story from, but still, like someone else mentioned, there really are very few women that stand 6'10" in bare feet, so she's gonna stand out in a crowd. /ramble

Taylor's height is so unusual, especially without any physical disabilities, that everyone should assume parahuman. (Let alone at age 15!) I don't know why people here think 6'10" falls within normal ranges. The tallest woman is 7 foot 0.7 inches and her height is caused by a medical condition that she often needs a wheelchair for. Wikipedia lists 21 women in all recorded history as 6'10" or greater, and that counts disputed entries.

When Kryslin first mentioned the idea on another thread, I opined that Tin_Mother was going to have to drop the banhammer on at least one 'is this girl Manpower's love child' threads.

Yes, but Cain stated he made it by shaving material from the inside of the regular helmet, making it his creation, not a "standard" part of the summoned armor.

It is also proof that Cain is not a complete moron, in that he realized he has a weakness and took reasonable steps to protect himself from it. By no means is he a criminal mastermind, but it's all but stated that he's exceedingly wealthy thanks to his mercenary work, he recognizes his limits, and on one occasion managed to pull a win over perhaps the smartest incarnation of the Hulk by NOT summoning his armor so he could pass as a presumably lesser brute and take the Hulk by surprise with how strong and tough he really was...
