Mammoth Apostate vs the World 1: "Lost in the Mist"

Yeah...full disclosure, I knew that already. Pretty sure it came up at some point in the beta. Which is why I didn't say anything. I'm trying not to spoil things for you guys.

Yep, Nixeu is one of several people that have suffered the burden of keeping me in check and have suffered through playtesting and debugging my rule variants, as well as trying in vain to reign in my manic enthusiasm.

They are good enough players any foreknowledge received will not adversely impact our game. They are the best players I could steal from "Tacit Ronin versus the World" ran by our own Fyrstorm. If your looking for another game to follow I rank it with O_s "Cherno Alpha versus the world" that started the genre.

Smiths I had a point I would like clarified if I may?

In the Iron Bitch description you mentioned it was a chest module and could be swapped in or out with other such modules. Am I understanding that correctly?

So one fight we could slot the Iron B, next fight something else we develop ?

Yes, it would allow you to tailor Mammoth on short notice, with mission appropriate payloads. Iron bitch one time when range is critical, another time a point blank scatter weapon (? Tesla shotgun utilizing leyden ball ammo - Captain Nemo/20,000 leagues?)

I bow to your knowledge and apologize for misspeaking, my research is far from exhaustive and errors will be abundant I fear. My focus was more on the history of the Golem legend than the finer details of the Jewish culture, I hope my portrayal of the religious elements were within forgivable tolerances.
But feel free to enlighten the Goyam should time permit... ;)
Oh, don't say it like that. I wasn't raised in the culture to any real extent, and I'm a patrilineal to boot. All I have is trivia picked up from my dad and his side of my family, or from other random sources. My dad knows a little Yiddish, and sprinkles it into his speech, along with the accent (which, being from Albany, he does quite well), when he wants to sound stereotypically Jewish for a joke, which is why my "something's off" sensors got tripped. The rest was from Professors Google and Wikipedia.

Hey @Smithsguild i put a few ideas for city augments in the doc that you might want to look over. They're under the misc section and have blue text right above them.

I believe we have achieved a majority consensus on Upgrading minefield and doing cleanup & a resounding NO for using Sammael's skull for a council building. That leaves only downtime planning consensus.

Plan: People...

Supported by:
BadKatt85
KnightDisciple
Nixeu

Opposing:
None(yet)

Other plans:
None(yet)

Enough time has passed, this is now locked. Processing the plan, write up incoming shortly...

[ X ] Plan: People get stuff done
  • Use cash stockpile to blow population up. More pop = more actions per turn
  • Explore Black Site

Blowing up is a bit impercise , could I get a stat number please? put in Vote format.

Resources: 8,671 R 9/02/2018 (3rd Sav. downtime)

City Improvements
500 Resources + 500/1000 for each level (1-10/10+)
The following choices of population increase are possible, cost listed , and R reserves that leaves available
[ ] 2 to 3 = 2,000 R leaving 6,671 R in reserve
[ ] 2 to 4 = 4,500 R total leaving 4,171 R in reserve
[ ] 2 to 5 = 7,500 R total leaving 1,171 R in reserve

Once expenditure is locked in, I can write up the blacksite exploration. Then I have some 'events' for you to deal with... Events will usually be free actions, things like diplomacy, influx of information, or potential opportunities you've been made aware of through no action of your own.

I am of the opinion more asap is best voting for the 5, but I am willing to drop to 4 if that is the majority opinion, less than 4 defeats my intention to increase our action economy.

[ X ] 2 to 5

I also will need what/who are you sending to the Parris Island Black Site; as well as an instructions for 'how' you intend to gain entry...

Re: Black Site exploration

I am of the opinion combat engineers x1, AKB'S x2, and that should leave enough room on a Jump Hawk for some scientists now that we have a Research of 1, those should be available.

Include a wing of Cobras with Hellfires just in case.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

Scientists to science our way past whatever security , failing that Combat Engineers should be able to breach.

Please Vote on what lvl of Population Stat your building to... or just X up BadKatt85 if in support of max population your finances allow.

Also BadKatt has purposed an expeditionary force and entry strategy and is seeking feedback.

I shall check back 6 pm EST, if no descension raised we will lock it and proceed.

downtime #6 write up
Savannah Population raised to 5, next downtime you have 5 general actions to work with!
In spite of the horrendous casualties sustained, word of how many invaders were destroyed and how quickly, a fierce pride in our forces forms Morale rises slightly.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are several 'events' transpiring that are deemed worthy of the councils immediate attention.

First regarding our Allied city to the Northwest; Atlanta has sent an emissary to open a more regular flow of communication he has arrived in a 'Little Bird' bearing a stylized 'A' that looks suspiciously like a recycled Atlanta Braves sticker.

A functionary onboard said copter has asked permission to establish a permanent Embassy in Savannah to make arrangements for the ongoing equitable exchange of goods and information. He bears a postcard from Mayor Adaire that is basically a letter of introduction authorizing the functionary to act on his behalf in matters of trade. Denny clues you in to the fact Atlanta has a new protector who has destroyed 2 K-scale threats since you last spoke. One mist related, one a kaiju.

Second thing on the docket, disturbing reports of organized banditry occuring outside the defensive perimeter and yet well within your sensors/comms range (Your perceived area of influence). Some local citizens survived the raids but only by allowing the raiders to take whatever or whomever they demanded. Any resistance at all results in the annihilation of men, women, and children as a lesson to their next intended victims. The raiders although no more than 10 men were competently led, equipped with military arms, and knowledgeable of tactics. So far these forces are only hitting small, isolated, and lightly defended targets. The survivors are asking is there any way we can organize patrols to discourage all future such raids?

Free Action
[ ] Organize a permanent patrol force to sweep randomly through your area of influence , to engage and destroy anyone engaging in banditry.

  • This will require permanently 're-assigning' 2 ALSV's units and one Cobra unit (backup/air support) as these forces are fast enough and possess enough firepower to deal with anything short of a small army. They will form Savannah Protectorate Law Enforcement and by empowering them to make summary judgement against those guilty of the most heinous crimes. (No time or resources to rehabilitate, perpetrators of premeditated violent crimes will be put down.) Local communities can police for lesser offenses.

What I Kind of think we should do is go bandit hunting with our jaeger, not without backup of course but more to say, If you try this in our borders, we will crush you like a bug.
[X] Accept the Emissary,
[X] Go bandit hunting with tanks, Mammoth, and alsvs, Curb Stomp time.

Although I appreciate your heart being in the right spot outrage wise, searching for 10 men in a 30 mile radius circle is something like 2,827 square miles if my math is right (odds are I'm wrong). I'd prefer the needle in the haystack...

I mean...we could always try a similar solution to mine for the needle in the haystack. Namely, I'd use a magnet. We could try and bait them out. That plan has a lot ways to go wrong, though.

[ X ] Accept Emissary
[ X ] Organize permanent patrol.
