Magical Girl Quest - The Fire That Burns

I... don't think you understand.

They aren't just going to ignore you because it'd be hard. That's why they are trying to kill you.
Sigh, I know but I rather prefer not killing magical girls since there would be an invasion. Find another way.
There's a bit of an opening since we did killed the other girl and the outburst of power gives them pause.

Or you've made them more determined to put you down before you can get stronger.

Either or.

So use our abundance of magical power to turn the surrounding ground into lava once our enemies show up and that should deal with a majority of the threats right?

Say what is our objective and have it changed since their magical girls move against us?
It's still to get out of here alive. Gaia wants her boogyman to prompt humanity to get as killy as possible.
...
Lava. We can make a giant lake of lava easily enough but if you ask me what we need is some sort of defense to answer not getting one shot by some sucker with a giant spell like Deviljho's girls nearly did to us.

Call in Daiyu to defend us in case of teleport assassinations or long range sniping, then just start melting everything not within a ten feet of us, put all that energy to use and turn the rest of our control radius into a brand new volcano.

If you give me time to finish work I can write it up as a proper vote.

Just saying, any Spell needs to have a MM above 12.5k now to go through Omega. Cerys should be reasonably save from basically all of them.

While calling her is a viable choice, I can not help but feel that having Daiyu save our asses is boring.
Plus, Cerys' wide-area effects work simply better if there is no ally nearby who she has to protect from them.

Would you like to revise your opinion that Magic Surge is not worth its price? :V
No. Right now it's more an opinion that Infinite Engine working this way in this niche case is gamebreaking.

Infinite Engine doing this is basically a cheat code for reaching the condition of "Magic Surge is an overpriced waste until other stuff is already really high level". Lets us gain similar effects to those high levels without actually putting in the EXP.

Getting a massive power up for free feels super unsatisfying too.

Yay for being magic proof. Doesn't answer some sort of experimental long gun or something getting pulled out and pointed at Cerys's head though I think...
Like I'm probably unaware for sure how durable Cerys is against mundane weaponry but I'm pretty sure we nearly got shredded last time by lots of dakka last time so I'm not keen on thinking this is as simple as 'make lake of lava, ask Gaia to help us do the best villianess laugh ever.'

Based on the wording of A&O, spells with Judgement or Smite might be able to ignore it too.
This is always what A&O did, it just interacted oddly with Divine Wrath and IE to do this.

I honestly didn't know this was going to happen until I looked at Raijin's sheet.
That's what I meant by "Infinite Engine working this way in this niche case is gamebreaking".

That eating a spell with an MM of N/A made it amp up our stats by a ridiculous amount compared to its normal behavior.

To be fair, the Shika deals ~4.8k damage by itself. Cerys can tank one with her new MM if she rolls at least mediocre.

As for artillery... well, Cerys saw the last one coming.

[x] Wait for the enemy to come into visual or thermal sensing range then turn as much of the surrounding ground into lava as possible.
-[x] Use Ignition Aura to obscure our position and to provide some defense.
-[x] Prep as many thermal spears as possible.

This an okay plan right?

[X] Plan: Everything Burns
-[X] turn as much of the surrounding ground into lava as possible
-[X] Use Ignition Aura to obscure our position and to provide some defense.
-[X] Prep as many thermal spears as possible. (make at least some of them with spell boost)
-[X] Use Juggernaut Wave's Knockback to fling waves of lava across the battlefield

we can fly, the state of the ground is irrelevant to us.
this amount of sudden heat on the ground will stop pretty much all of their ground forces cold.
It also will at least give some trouble to their fliers.
Because hot air is less dense any nonmagical fliers might be unable to fly at all. at the very least they will be hampered.

I'm good with this, maybe add something about staying low to ground?

Sure. I'm wondering if we could literally swim in the lava to hide. We should be fine with the heat, of course, and I don't think we have to worry about it solidifying around us, but we can't see through it and Lava is pretty viscous. We'd be slowed down a lot and might have problems like Cerys did with halting herself. We also couldn't breath, but that's easily enough fixed by coming up for air.

If we could fight by our thermal sense it might be worth considering. But for now we should probably stick to flying near the surface. Fortunately, the lava should release a lot of steam/smoke (we don't have to worry about inhaling that, do we?) that should give us some cover.

Just read something. Cerys somehow isn't fire resistant. That...uh, might be a problem if we're turning the ground to lava.
That pun is bad and you should feel bad :V
That pun was great.

also, do we want to buy something from the shop or save up?
370XP would give us some damage(negligible tbh) and more importantly one more APT.

The Workshop discussed the topic earlier and is actually still doing so. We are just having something of an extended break.
Have to wait for Rukia to pass the final say in the matter, though.

Either way however, Cerys has the resistance for as long as she is concious.
Can we use Juggernaut Wave's Knockback to fling waves of lava across the battlefield?

This idea is awesome.

it is, we should do that if we get the chance :D

as for something else we can do: use halt on an aircraft and watch it crash.
going from moving to nothing moves for 10 seconds to things can begin moving again ought to fuck those up.
