Magical Girl Quest - The Fire That Burns

You shuffle a bit over to the side to make room, but she grabs you arm and pulls you closer, blatantly sliding an arm around your waist as she impassively looks at Leader-girl. Face literally glowing slightly you try to pretend her possessive hug is normal while your heart skips. People are watching. Your eyes slowly open, heated orbs locking with yours as her hand settles on your hip, a tiny spark of magic making your entire body tingle. You can read the message in her eyes, I know, I don't care.

A throat clearing draws your attention back to the group, the elder two girls looking slightly awkward whilst the younger stares with rapt attention.
I see she ships it
They glance at each other, but they don't move to say anything, the older two of the three letting their transformations fade. Wait, is she really? You crack an eye open to be sure, nonplussed when you see that her clothes are almost identical
...chuunibyou magical girl cosplayer?

Did a fucking continent just send me a thank you letter?
*Transmitting Hugs*
"I will never be a pirate vessel." [Tsun?] No... I don't think so. And stop saying that, where did you even learn it? [Symbol book with sister] God dammit Una, how the hell...
Una, do keep corrupting them!
Passing you a bag of spicy power of some sort, she nods.
Took me a moment to realize this was a typo and not just a Cerys thing

As for Vessel, I don't quite think she enjoys the power of being transformed - it's that she is actively unhappy being human. It's not that her power in transformed state is a rush, it's that she views her non-transformed state as a cripple. I'd say her situation is at least partially due to Beta Version Magical Girl Issues, such as one that cost us a Mage-role Knight before we ever met her.
Or maybe she really have a physical disability add her issue with mass of people.

[X] Sabina doesn't look like she's going to get to sleep anytime soon...

She is dead, so I can not put her into the "are" category. If I brought up the "was" category, I would need to go back and look up any MG of old mentioned in this Quest so far. :V
Har de har har.
I still think that Gaya hasn't quite gotten the kinks out of the system, so some edge cases being weird are to be expected. Not that she ever will.

I mean, even in CWMGQ, there are magical girls whose power is explicitly doing things to their minds and/or bodies. Case in point, Magical Girl Armageddon Hound.
Article:
Fangs of Hell's Hound: Level 5
-Adds 50% of Fenrir's Stats to her own. Take on mutations of Fenrir appropriate for current level of ability. Controls all stats.

Case in point, Magical GIrl Machine Code.
Article:
Machine Logic:
Transistors inside a microchip have two states: off and on.
-All technology is doubled in power if operated by Machine Code. Provides a 25% boost to all technological Affinities nearby. Can no longer feel emotion, granting immunity to emotion-affecting abilities.

Timescale.

I've been wondering about the length and pacing of the quest for a while now, and I've decided to put it to a vote.

[] Faster. (Rather than five to ten chapters a day, it will only be one or two, unless it calls for more.)
[] Don't change anything. (Stay at the same pace.)
[] Slower. (Because you hate pacing and me.)

I am allowed to have an opinion on this one.

...Hrrrm...*sighes*
[X] Faster. (Rather than five to ten chapters a day, it will only be one or two, unless it calls for more.)
Let's face it, the main reason for slower is I just don't want to miss the next spell-weaving chance we get and frankly There's also our swording to actually get good with and neearrgh.
TIMESKIP! And I'm just gonna hope things don't start exploding.

I'm okay with Same or Faster but I'll vote to keep things the same for now

I like the current pace and see no reason to change it. Slower would be painful, faster would potentially miss things?

That's my view of it anyhow.

MASTER MY MASTER
Turning away from the stairs, you suppress a sigh. My responsibility. You smooth your face out, hiding your own feelings as you stop next to Sabina, waiting until she looks up to you with a raised brow. Flicking your head towards the door, it only takes her a moment to glance at your peacefully sleeping sister and nod, smoothly sliding out of her chair and padding across the floor. Her name really is apt. You step through the door, being careful to close it silently, maintaining your air of calm as you walk to the railing.

Sabina steps next to you, waiting for you to break the silence a little impatiently. Always impatient or anxious. "Sabina, do you have anything you want to tell me?" You deliberately leave the question open, so long as you give her the chance to admit her issues first, then pressuring them out of her is so much easier.

Her grip on the wood suddenly tightens, turning to look at you sharply as her magic brushes against you harshly. "No. I don't." She clamps her mouth shut, jerking her head to look at the sky, tense muscles easily visible in her neck.

Your eyebrows shoot up, completely caught off guard at her sudden shift of emotion, subtly shifting into a more ready stance. "Obviously." She ignores your sarcasm so you step away from the railing, resting one hand on your hip as you look down at her. "Because you are completely fine right now." She nods harshly, a bang of hair falling over her face, which she brushes away roughly. Ooookay. You glance back at your house, then at Sabina's agitated form. "Why don't we go for a walk?" She doesn't respond. "To the village?" She grunts, which you take as acknowledgement and step away, carefully keeping an eye on her with your temperature sense.

She doesn't move straight away, suddenly jumping to follow you after staring at your back for a moment, stopping just a little behind you as she follows. Her pace is more than a little erratic, by the time you were half way there, she had overtaken you and was walking in front. What on earth? Omega gives an apprehensive rumble, the sound only keying your own feelings in closer. Something is really wrong. Carefully watching her as you ascend the hill, you lose track of her for a moment when she crests it before you, quickly stretching your range to compensate.

When you arrive at the bottom, she's impatiently waiting for you, constantly shifting as she paces. Aggression, she wants to fight. You cut off Omega's feeding, letting your magic build up in your chest as you walk past her without a word, moving straight for the arena. Stopping in the middle, you wait for her to close the few steps in-between the two of you and cross her arms, looking at you expectantly. Alright. "You are angry with me."

She stops her bouncing for a moment, roughly shaking her head before returning to her pacing. "No, I'm... I don't know." Running a hand across her face, she spins to face you, breathing quickly. "I don't know!" You narrow your eyes, letting your magic build up further as she starts panting lightly. "I feel hot, I want to fight." She clenches her fists, magic visibly racing along her arms. "Why." She looks up to you, brow furrowing as her breathing settles down a little. "When I fight with you, I do what you say. Why. When I fight with you, the burning goes away." She grips her suddenly there sword. "I wasn't like this before. This, this is you, you make me feel."

You resist the instinctive urge to back away, transformation just barely fluttering at the edge of the tipping point. "I don't know."

She suddenly laughs, the light sound completely at odds with the tight grip she has on her blade, the tip digging a small trench through the ground. "Of course you don't." Her armour flickers onto her, yours following a moment later. "Why would you." Shaking her head, she locks her eyes onto you, your sword burning into your hand. "I guess it doesn't matter, fighting with you makes me feel." She lifts her sword, smiling. "I wonder what fighting you will feel like."
