Magical Girl Quest - The Fire That Burns

Would probably be better to attack the bird with a Thermal Spear supercharged, thanks to thermal control, with ice giving it Freeze and maybe casting Halt to restrict its movement. Then melt its face with Plasma Sphere and Ignition Aura running before plowing into it with IE. The first would restrict its movement for the real damage to hit it and once it has eaten a Plasma Sphere, I doubt its wings would be capable of letting it fly any longer. The problem with it seems likely to be that it is fucking fast and can run away, cut that down and it should be manageable.

Even if it manages to run, after the battering it would have suffered, the air support could chase and shoot it down without too much problem either way since it would have had most of its armor become slag and would be unlikely to be flying straight.

That was awesome, I think I like how we fight. EVERYTHING BURNS!
I think our preferred style for beginning fights is:
Arena Setup: Ignition aura and Thermal Control
Opening Move: Plasma Sphere or Thermal Spear
Follow up: Infinity Edge

I think i'm starting to get a feel for how ignition knight fights, and it's scary as fuck. See I always knew she used auras but I was thinking too small, I was only thinking about ignition aura not about how Thermokinesis can turn an area into a raging firestorm. Ignition fights best when she's in the middle of a maelstrom of fire or ice.

A question for @Rukia do we have cold immunity the way we have fire immunity?
You are IGNITION KNIGHT, of course you are at home in the middle of an inferno.

You have cold immunit in the form of your body temperature being really easy to change, ergo you are always warm.

gotta say, I love how our big trump card seems to be an ability that doesn't even have listed damage or debuffs. It's entirely a fluff thing but it's still utterly terrifying.
Personally, I am amazed at how many people missed the sheer power that it offered...

Have a nitpick, 264 - 29 = 235. All the other numbers seem to check out.

I take from the lack of any commentary, EXP or votes that there is a second part of this coming up... or Rukia had to leave after finishing.

Aside from all that... @Rukia, do you remember when I said there were no actually awe-inspiring scenes so far? About a dozen pages ago?
Now there is one. Excellent work.
Will fix that.

There will be a short part 2. Also, I literally left my house with three minutes to spare at 08:12.
I stopped writing at 08:04.

:D

Okay, now we have the EXP... 232 is our current total.

And before someone starts talking about buying Flight, I just realised that this would not work out. We need High-Speed Combat to operate properly at higher speed, which needs training before we can buy it.

So I would rather buy Flight: Sword Boost and push Armoured Soul to lv. 5 (135 EXP) so that none of those enemies can one-shot us anymore. I am also hoping for another Milestone there.

It also means that it is only a matter of when that Cerys would be forced to fight in a situation where collarteral damage is a BIG no-no, like carrying Una.

I hope that that day will arrive much later, and that we will have enough powers by then to mitigate that.

Hmm i wonder if Flight:Sword Boost and Limitless for our Infinity Edge can stack together to allow us to basically make sword platforms/steps?

It can.

Also, this entire fight was basically the consequences of a 1 Attack Per Turn character fighting a 3 Attack Per Turn character.

I like that.

BTW, an idea for training when we'll have the time: show Jeanne the sword duplication trick and tell her about when the Willow disarmed us. Then ask her to disarm us repeatedly in order to make us integrate that ability into our fighting style and make us manifest IE reflexively in combat.

Should help us in sword fighting as well as maybe counting as a bit of experimentation towards Limitless.

Edit: Consume magic is nasty...

Yes, attacks per turn are a great thing.

Do you know what I find best about this?
We can push it into the blocked slots with Jeanne because it is a part of sword training, which means this does not eat up one of our regular training slots.

I agree with the purchase of additional level of Armored Soul. With our realization of how Cerys is meant to fight we have decent enough damage for the time being. I think we need to invest in actually not dying. Our health is kind of sad at the moment. That promise of a milestone at level 5 is even more of a reason.

Consume Magic is indeed strong, but it is an Active skill. It requires the user to actually try to consume magic.
Ero, why the friendly fire incident didn't heal the other Willow.

(Blood Willow 2: +20 Pierce, +5 Dice = 25 Total Damage
Blood Willow 2: +20 Pierce, +5 Dice = 25 Total Damage
Blood Willow 2: +20 Pierce, +3 Dice = 23 Total Damage
Blood Willow 2: +20 Pierce, +7 Dice = 27 Total Damage
Blood Willow 2: +20 Pierce, +10 Dice = 30 Total Damage

130 Total Damage

Blood Willow: +140 Base Resilience, +80 Dice, -20 Cracked Armour = 200 Total Reduction

70 Total End Damage

Blood Willow: 954 - 70 = 884)

Heh, those losers do not have theirs on automatic? We should have used Alpha and Omega and showed them how it is done, just to add insult to injury :V

And also why Plasma Sphere was so effective, I suppose. An AoE of "everything burns" must be hard to consume consciously. Added to the sheer amount of magic too.

BTW, shouldn't there be a note of passive/active in the sheets? That would clarify a lot of what can and can't happen when fighting an opponent. With a "?" added when the information isn't available yet.

Plasma Sphere didn't actually detonate magically.
It was created magically, but the Plasma inside it was 100% real.
Once it was detonated, it was a completely ordinary supersonic spray of superheated Plasma.
