Magical Girl Quest - The Fire That Burns

Again, we do not have the training space available until Monday and might set the Clocktower on fire if we try doing it in there.
There might be another place we can do this at... but maybe put in a contingency in case there is none?

Wonderful. Forgot about that.

Switching to flight if that's okay with you? the only other magical training I can think of that will not burn everything would be Push and it is less immediately useful.

I do not particularly mind Flight, but...
As for that... I actually mentioned it before: we know Cerys can push magic into her sword, maybe even her armour.
From Rukia we learned that she can buff her damage somehow.
I think we should see if that would lead to said buff first.

Since any and all upgrades for the Infinity Edge require at least competent in order to unlock them, I considered that working on it now would be a bit of a waste of time, but sure, let's go with that. Anything specific you had in mind or would it be just trying to channel magic in it? Since we have no training ground, we can't exactly test if we do more damage with it without a target.

Might want to work on tolerance and/or filtering for our thermal senses - it's pretty much useless right now and we don't know where the scamps are frakkin' around at. They could be local and we wouldn't be able to track/burn them properly because holycrapsomuchstuff.

We already have the Clocktower for tracking them. They must have done it for some time and even have specific spells for locating them in addition to their detection systems. We are part of an organization, we can delegate. Morgan in particular seems specced for detection with her being a scout and attuned to nature. The problem would rather be, as she said and as we read, the disposal and that can be done by layering the area where scamps are with our aura, most likely Alpha-Omega since it sucks magic and we have already been shown that we can feel when a big clump of it is consumed.

But, sure, let's add it. It's almost unconscious in use at this point either way.

I was not going for any of the upgrades.

You take the sword back into your hands and hold it in what you think is a swordsman's stance. It looks a little clumsy but it's not the first time you've held a weapon, though it is the first time you've ever held a sword. If you could call the gigantic thing you were currently holding a sword. You send a quick pulse of magic through the sword and watch as lines burst into existence all along the black parts of it and the edge glows even brighter, it's only a second later when you notice that you yourself had lines running all along your body.

I want to find out what this is. It seems important and we never picked up on it again.

In the worst case, this is just an optical effect... but I doubt it, with how it was worded.

In a good case, it is the exprimentation we need for Spell Boost; which would get that out of the way.

In the best case, we get something interesting out of it; as I said, Rukia mentioned that ways exist to buff our damage. If this is it, I want to have it unlocked sooner rather than later.

With luck it might be a way for us to level up the Infinity Edge without having to spend xp and only using training.

I'd rather go with a little more flight training. In fact we should take Una flying some time. Flying was probably the first time Cerys lost herself in a happy moment. >_>

I can understand the sentiment. However, we can grind Flight during the timeskips just fine while going for some of the more... unexplored options should be done during the days where we have more control over what happens.

As for taking Una flying, that is indeed something we should do.
Here is hoping that we can take her along without her weight pulling us down.

Una weighing us down and preventing us from flying (and being happy), is a very depressing metaphor.

One that I don't think fits with their relationship as I read it.

I just realised that we could ask Morgan about her Affinity. It does not sound as if those are particularly private matters... and I wonder why I never thought about that before.

Aside from that I noticed something small in the update:
When Morgan is done she places a bookmark and leaves the room, returning five minutes later, movie in hand and blushing slightly.
I get the feeling that whoever had this movie before gave her some comments about her relationship with Cerys.

Aaaand I am awake.

-[X] Ask for a list of some of the less powerful sorts of threats you might be called in to face.
--[X] In particular research woodland scamps since they seem to be probable first foes.
--[X] Also see if you can find out anything about that demon you faced.
--[X] Aside from those specifics try to at least read all of the summaries you can. Even a little information is better than no information.
-[X] Get Una to help you, she loves to read right? And now she gets to read about actual magical monsters. That's gotta count for something.
-[X] Go out on the town with Morgan again in the evening, get to know her more.

I'll give you guys fifteen minutes before I lock the vote in.

Poking a magical weapon we don't know much about outside the specialized training area for destructive magic.

Great idea! *thumbs up*

Edit: @Cathon Grimeye But seriously. If we want to play around with it, can we please wait to be inside the right training area?

...can we at least include a date with Morgan in the other vote? I think a quieter Sunday would be better but it seems you people all want to train...

It did nothing destructive last time and Cerys is not stupid enough to not start it slow, then stop if something dangerous happens.
We didn't channel magic through it at the time (as far as I remember) though.

 Since when we're we looking into shipping Cerys with Morgan?

Reminder: Cerys is still only 13 years old. I have zero interest in reading about someone's love life who has yet to finish going through puberty.

Spending a few hours playing around with her magic should be fine; it is not actual work if you have as much fun as Cerys did flying around on Saturday... and this will probably go rather quick.

As for the date... I would rather not, not just yet. She knows Morgan for a little more than two weeks, give it some more time.

I think that counts as channeling.
