There are taxes and infrastructure. Those alone necessitate supporting laws, especially since not everyone is part of a Familia. Proper enforcement of laws against e.g. theft might be variable, but things in Orario would be far worse without any.

This story interprets any mismatch as "Nearly all laws are just agreements among gods that never expired, what few weak courts that exist are for peons, the compiled laws are such an utter mess that you can say anything with it, etc."

Ma'at is even mentioned by name at the end of the Chapter 49 advisor scene. :p

To be clear, "illegal" is effectively a euphemism for "an excuse for the gods to stir up shit."
Right, but at a certain point, trying to sue a familia using very outdated laws that haven't been enforced in centuries, when said familia is known to contain a member capable of inficting powerful, reality-bending curses that destroyed a major familia overnight (with the implication that the other two might be capable of doing that too) is, if pressed without a very good reason (as in, not over petty offenses or unprovoked actions), something that other familias are not going to be sympathetic towards.

Certainly, if the Soma Familia presses its luck and tries to get the Hestia Familia to pay up, and Hestia just says "no", what would they even do? Soma probably doesn't give a shit, so good luck strongarming the Guild when you have precisely zero gods putting any pressure on them. If the Guild tries to force the Hestia Familia's hand, all it would take is Dreamer showing up and scaring the everliving shit out of them if they don't back off (in the "You cannot even imagine the degree to which I could fuck with the Guild if I'm sufficiently pissed off, and there isn't a whole lot that pisses me off more than being bullied" sense).

The issue is that you would have a ton of Gods offering support, because they are jealous and want to hurt Hestia for having something they don't.

I can't get out the idea/Image of all the other shards arriving in this dimension to decide a new leadership once they notice MOTHER's status. Maybe a council of Queens or naming QA or Hestia the new Mother? I would really like to see the shenneigans this situation would cause.

They are really lucky Dreamer isn't a monster, because if there is one thing shards are good at, it is body horror.

From how it was thought about until now, I think they will argue with each other, a lot, and than start a cannibalistic civil war, either way, I really doubt they will even consider Hestia, as in it wouldn't even cross their minds, QA is a better choice, on account of having Dreamer on her side who found the solution, being one of the most powerful shards and having a speciality that is very good at enforcing her will on the shards if she was willing to.

The problem I think is that no single shard is MOTHER, Eden is more like hive mind artificial intelligence created by shards for the cycle, QA was not worried about MOTHER and didn't mourn her, because from her perspective and from what Dreamer implied, MOTHER didn't die, the shards comprising her just left their post, which dissolved her, the only reason she didn't just put them back together if they wanted to or not is that Dreamer found the solution.

Until QA makes a Friend ghost. Imperceptible, intangible, effective against morale: All the things that make for a great friend.
All things that make for a good Friend, perhaps, but not all the things. Friends are cute and lovable and loyal and protective and ruthless and deadly and loving and smart and....

The Oakenshield, who led the party of dwarves (and a hobbit, and occasionally a maiar) to reclaim the Lonely Mountain, was THORIN the second, son of Thrain the Second, son of King Thror of the Lonely Mountain, not Durin. He was of the LINE OF DURIN, the ruling line descended from the dwarf that "woke alone" and founded Moria, also called the Dwarrowdelf, and the line in which Durin was reincarnated with his ancient name.

The Durin most recently incarnated during the quest to reclaim the Lonely Mountain was Durin the Sixth, who died over a thousand years before the quest. He, as well as his son Nain the First, died facing the Balrog, leaving his grandson Thrain the First to flee with the remaining Durin's Folk tribe of Dwarves and found the Dwarf Kingdom of the Lonely Mountain. Durin the Seventh would not be born until the fourth era, though the exact year is unknown. Durin VII would retake the Dwarrowdelf nearly three centuries after the events of the Hobbit, one hundred and seventy one years after the final death of Sauron and the end of the Third Age.
...And this, children, is why you look things up rather than pulling purely from memory/extrapolating based on flimsy evidence. That's my mistake.

IIRC, Dreamer may have sugar-coated that for QA. In canon, the Shards that composed the core of Eden were damaged or otherwise cut off from the overall Shard network, and each other. As I understand it, a lot of the most vital ones were damaged or destroyed by Contessa's BS, so Eden's effectively gone entirely. They might, potentially, be recoverable or repairable, despite how Scion has a tendency to destroy any of the damaged ones he can find (see: Scion is so dumb he outsources the majority of his thinking). But they also might not be.

I wonder what would happen if QA appeared in avatar the last airbender and befriended azula?
@Alivaril this should be your next Sanctioned cross
I can't really see it. There isn't a good way for them to start interacting on friendly terms. Azula is very isolated and that isolation is enforced both internally and externally.

There is an ideas thread. Please use it.

True. 'the' was wrong.

A ghost friend would be something like Gengar, the friendlist, cutest, cuddliest and overall best pokemon there is. And also poison type which also fits her predilections.

*looks at Mimikyu, Hoopa, and Marshadow* Gonna have to disagree with you on Gengar being even the cutest Ghost type.

Mini-omake: Festival Forgiveness
"Lili! Would you pay 5000 valis for the chance to legally crash a flaming dinosaur through the Soma familia's headquarters at midnight in 6 days time? "
"Dreamer, no!"
"Lili is intrigued and wishes to learn more."
"As an ex-member you are still permitted certain interactions under both 'late leaving parties' and 'farewell pranks'. Additional allowances are made for religious festivals, and it happens to be the holy day of both Meyanok and Olidammara soon, who have relevant festivities , even though both have moved back to heaven. As this is Orario the definition of acceptable damage for any of those things is very broad. The dinosaur urinates a wine-like product so it counts as a themed creature for both Soma and Olidammara. The valis is for properly registering this as a 'parade', which as this will happen at night must be well lit. Ma'at has said this has precedent as long as there are no fatalities and the fire damage does not spread beyond Soma Familia property. Tiona has volunteered to be a reveller."

I am sure Dreamer will only use her legal knowledge for good.
(I should probably have just left it at the first line and not bothered to try and justify it.)

IIRC by the time he found her/them in canon it was a lost cause, which is why he lost his shit upon discovering the situation, but if he had run across the flesh garden a decade or two earlier then Eden would have been recoverable.

Counteridea: She continues doing it even when she's twice Aiz's size and neither of them see anything wrong with this at all.
True, Aiz's reaction times would no doubt allow her to properly prepare for impact and meet the incoming kitty love with full enthusiasm. And kitty hugs are possibly even better than kitty nuzzles, because there's more surface area and therefore more soft adorable fur and therefore more love.
